We have stayed in this charming condo twice now and do plan on doing it again and again. It is very clean, comfortable and has everything that you would want in your "own" place...because that is just what it is during your rental time. A home away from home. The beds are comfortable, the furniture is comfortable, you couldn't ask for a more convienent place to stay if you are a beach bum, love to snorkel or want to walk across the street with your favorite beverage to watch the most beautiful sunsets in the world. Puako is the most charming, peaceful, friendly area we have ever stayed at and we have come to Hawaii every year for the past 13 years. We have stayed in hotels and homes but this condo by far is our favorite. We will never stay anywhere else again. For your money, you could not ask for a better place to leave your "slippers" at the door of for any vacation. I highly recommend Puako for your next vacation. It doesn't get any better than this.

We stayed at this condo for two weeks with friends. We found the unit to be clean and met all of our requirements. The rooms were comfortable and beds excellent. The location to the beaches and snorkeling was exactly what we were looking for. Being able to access items such as bogey boards and beach chairs as well as an excellent supply of towels was a very nice touch. We would definitely recommend this unit and will possibly even be considering it in the future.

The condo was small but very comfortable for 3 adults--great beds and couch-- very small lanai and kind of odd it's off the bedroom and not living area--we were a bit disappointed that the condo was right over the parking lot but it does have a beautiful view to the north---nice it's on the 3rd floor-- it's a great location as far as getting to beaches, over to tropical garden, north side lookouts--beach 69 was our favorite for scenery, snorkeling and swimming, --turtles, lots of fish and even 2 manta rays in the cove to the south one morning---mauna kae was best for boogie boarding--get there early. It was great to have boogie boards (4), chairs, etc. at the condo. amazing coastline at Puako, the scenery is so pretty and the turtles are very cool. Our last night there we watched the sunset from the beach across the street and whales were jumping as the sun was going down--amazing! puako road was a nice walk and there's a trail at the end of the road down to the next big resort area- and lots of shoreline access areas to explore along the road. We had a great week and highly recommend it!

Sonja - your condo is nicely decorated and well equipped. Puako is a relaxing place (great weather and just minutes from excellent beaches). "Truly a home away from home". Mahalo for your help and professionalism with our booking. Looking forward to returning!

Dear Sonja, We have enjoyed every minute of our time here! We have visited several historical sites, Volcano National Park, the "black sand" beach, in the south, the Bamboo Restaurant in Hawi, the deep valleys on the east as well as the Botanical Garden,-then the visitor's center observatory on Mauna Kea, Waimea Coffee Shop several times, and of course the beaches! We've learned so much about the Big Island and its welcoming people. Thank you for introducing us to ALL of it. We now understand why you LOVE to come here. We are rich in God's blessings and your gift of those days in #303 in honor of our retirement will be a memory for a lifetime. Mahalo!! Love, Jinny & Dale S. Mercer Island, WA

New Years EVE-January 6th, 2010--What a way to start the New Year 2010! :-) I am sitting here watching the waves rush in, hearing the roar, contemplating the week that was so memorable and filled with Aloha. The sound of the birds every morning to the darkness of the star lit nights; the historical and breathtaking scenery of Puako and the entire Kohala Coastline...AMAZING!! Without a doubt, your condo is descriptably accurate to a tee! And much more! It is the nicest, most elegant, and deeply satisfying condo we have stayed at, so comfortable and peaceful. And the beds, excellent!! As I gaze upon the shimmering sun lit water, I feel we were so fortunate and blessed to have chosen your Puako piece of Paradise. And yesterday as I hiked the lava mounds for the last time I saw and marveled at 16 turtles just lolling away-ah, what a life! Love, Joy, Peace, Prosperity and Compassion for you all, Joe & Karen Frascone & Mary C. K.

Our family recently stayed at "Sonja's Place" and highly recommend her affordable well-appointed condo. Puako is a unique semi-residential area surrounded by large hotel/townhome developments. There are lovely beaches a short drive away (we esp. loved "Beach 69," a 2 minute drive, which has large shade trees for those seeking respite from the sun), and our kids (8 and 11 years old) had a fantastic time snorkeling from an access just down Puako road (eels, turtles, coral, all sorts of reef fish abound). The condo itself is not large, but with the 2 bedrooms plus study, it accommodated 3 adults and 3 kids without problem. Guests needs have been anticipated well, with all sorts of beach amenities provided (towels, boogie boards, beach shoes -- even a supply of sunscreen for those who might have run out or haven't yet made it to the market). We used the grill every night we were there, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our large crew for a week. I do disagree with the poster who did not recommend the condo for kids, as we found it very child-friendly overall. The onsight manager, Sarah, was especially helpful for any onsite needs we had. A great experience overall!

We had an awesome trip in Puako in your beautifully decorated condo! Puako was one of my most favorite tropical places to stay as the beaches are close by and sea life abundant. We loved visiting the turtles across the street each day. That was a real treat! For those visiting, go to the beach between mile marker 88 & 89 for boogle boarding, beach 69 for awesome snorkeling, and dont go to Hapuna beach on a windy day without sunglasses! ") Have fun! --Amy M.

Great condo--large and roomy--comfy beds and very nicely furnished. We especially enjoyed the history of Puako and the travel books. Very quiet except for waking to the birds every morning, which was great. Used the BBQ grill and really liked the small touches like frosted mugs in the freezer and beach supplies. Would definitely go again. The Hill Family,Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Wow, what a quiet getaway! I was amazed how "small town" this really was. Very quiet in the evenings then you wake up to numerous birds in the morning. I loved how close we were to Hapuna Beach. We packed up the cooler that was in the condo and ate lunch on the beach. I was so happy to find boogie boards in the closet, which made for a fun afternoon! Just a note-if it's cloudy you can still sunburn! I would recommend this condo for couples looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation. Not so much for kids. The building and grounds are very well maintained and I was impressed with the fresh flowers in the elevator-what a nice touch. Just wish there was a hot tub by the pool. Puako beach is such an amazing place to watch the whales, they are so active in the mornings here. I will be back again!
Owner response:Aloha! Thank you for your Five Star Rating and your feedback about the closeness to famous beaches and how beautiful the condo grounds and gardens are. We agree, the place is very well maintained and the fresh flowers in the elevator are an exceptional touch as well as finding boogie boards in the closet. We often receive responses from our guests that this is an excellent getaway for couples looking for a romantic interlude! Please consider joining us again soon! Mahalo, Sonja and Family Proprietors

Thank you for allowing your condo to be a place for our family vacation. We stayed 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute! Snorkeling on the Puako reef, at City of Refuge, Captain Cook, and Kapoho Tidepools were definite highlights. New sightings for us included eels, numerous turtles, spotted eagle ray, leaf fish, flounder & more! Also, thank you for the little extras-lotions, guidebooks, nice appliances, and comfortable furniture. We hope we can make a return trip in the near future!...M, N, K (15yo), & K (13).

Thanks for providing so many "nice-eties" to make our stay in your condo so comfortable. We loved diving/snorkeling with the Manta Rays, eating at Cafe Pesto and the Harbor Grill, buying fruit from the cute lady up the road and our drive to Hawi for our lunch at Bamboo...
