La Casita is a traditional adobe nestled among fruit trees and adjacent to a weaving studio and private vineyard. Imagine strolling down a wooded lane to your own private casita, with kitchen, two bedrooms, full bath, and living room (with fold-out queen bed and a wood burning stove).
You are within walking distance of The Weavery (Sara and Celeste are weavers), an award-winning winery, community library with DSL internet access and the Dixon Co-op. Market. You may never want to leave to explore the surrounding area, but if you do, there are many places to visit.
La Casita is minutes from the Rio Grande, rafting, fishing, bird watching, biking, hiking, and cross country skiing. Indian pueblos, museums, art galleries, horseback riding, and alpine skiing are within an hour's drive. After a busy day of exploration enjoy a meal cooked in the fully equipped kitchen with dining area or relax in front of a fire in the living room. The private patio and courtyard feature a propane barbeque and a full compliment of outdoor furniture.
The rural mountain village of Dixon (Elevation 6200 feet) is home to many artists and crafts people and is famous for the annual Dixon art and studio tour. The town is located 25 miles south of Taos, 45 miles north of Santa Fe and is a 2 hour drive from the Albuquerque International Airport. |
