Great stay in Oahu

My husband and I spent the first part of our honeymoon at the Padaca's place on the North Shore of Oahu staying 1/4/13 through 1/8/13. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how big the place was! The pictures don't do it justice. The location was GREAT - across the street from Sunset beach and just a stone's throw away from all the great North Shore beaches (Haleiwa, Banzai Pipeline, etc). If you like to watch surfers and kite surfers doing amazing things on the waves (and maybe have a go yourself) this is the place. The weather was pretty bad when we went (rainy, low swells) but it didn't deter the fun. The kitchen is so well stocked we regretted bringing along our own cutting board and knife as it wasn't necessary, there's pots, pans, blender, knives, salt, pepper, oil...anything you would need to make a good meal. The bathroom was clean and there was shampoo, body wash, several types of lotion, shaving cream, hair dryer, curling iron, etc. There were also beach chairs, a bike, beach towels, boogie boards, surf board and possibly a tent for the beach (we never opened the box, but I think it was a tent). The back porch is nice to relax on since the backyard is a pretty view with fruit trees (not sure what the fruit was but it tasted citrus-y). The bed was VERY comfortable. Overall the place was spacious, clean and comfortable in a fantastic location on the North Shore. Don't hesitate to book it!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The property was spotless & comfortable and even though the pictures posted are great, we were still pleasantly surprised how large it was. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies and we also enjoyed the gas grill. The king bed & bedding were great! We appreciated the availability of the beach towels, bikes, boogie boards etc. Our only sadness was that there was fruit everywhere and none of it ripe during our week! Maybe next time. There is a lot already written about what is in the area so I will skip all that and only add walk down the road late at night and look at all the stars. It meant a lot to us to have a warm welcome and talk story with Myles when we first got there and started our time with a nice vibe. We ended up so busy we never got a chance to check out your other property on the beach… but we're marking that down for the future when we have ohana visiting. Myles and Chaney, your place gave us exactly what we looking for… easy, private and laid back. Thank you.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed staying here! It was emaculate, spacious and affordable! You can walk or bike to the beach. Miles and Chaney were very accomodating and easy going. It looked good, felt good and even smelled really good. Comfortable beds, cotton sheets, full kitchen. We didn't really want to leave! I highly reccomend this as a prime spot to stay at Sunset.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Hey Chaney, We had a great time and the house was great. I am sorry I didn't meet you, I didn't want to bother you upstairs and I thought we would run into each other. Your children are beautiful! Anyway, the location of the house was perfect. We went to all the local beaches every day and Bob and the kids went to Pearl Harbor. The weather was perfect and your back yard was beautiful. Everything was close by and we took advantage of all of it. It was great to have the bikes and the boogey boards and the outdoor shower. I will definitely post on VRBO on what a great experience we had at your home. Wish I was there right now! We live in a beautiful, rural area but right now it is REALLY hot. Hope to come back some day!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hey Chaney and Myles. Just wanted to say thanks for letting us stay at your place. It was exactly as advertised and was perfect for our trip. Also, thanks to Myles for the surf lesson. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and will be in touch for our next trip back to the north shore. Lastly, there is an extra piece of pie we bought on Tuesday in the fridge if your interested. Thanks again, Jon and HeatherDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Myles and Chaney- Just wanted to thank you for your hospitality. This was our first real vacation since B.K. (Before kids)...it had been a long time and this destination made it well worth the wait. We enjoyed the home, with its convenient location and lush tropical setting. Hope to see you again soon. Maholo...Norm and Vickie CatalanDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The Padaca's beach house was just what I needed to get away for a relaxing vacation. The house was clean, cozy, and the neighborhood is great (with the beach right across the street)! I hope to come back someday.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Myles and Chaney, We had such a wonderful week staying at your place. It was just the kind of place my family was looking for- quiet, restful, and out of the city. It was hard to leave, especially for our kids who loved to play with your daughter, Ava. We'd go off for the the day to do something, and they just wanted to come home to play in your backyard with all the trees. We sure enjoyed your star fruit. they made a great afternoon snack. The beaches close by were great, especially Shark's Cove, where we just relaxed and snorkled. I didn't think Oahu was going to be so much fun, but I was wrong. Congratulations Myles on your surfing championships. When I got home I "googled" your name and saw all your success. I didn't know we were staying at the home of celebrities. Thanks for being so friendly to me and my family. We will always remember our vacation. And oh yes, to all those who might be considering a stay in Oahu. Take note to the advice the rent-a-car agencies have when they say "Don't leave any valuables in your car." The day after we left Myles and Chaney's place, two of our car's windows were shattered and we lost some valuable things. That was off Pali Hwy., while we were off hiking and looking for a waterfall. We should have stayed at the Pedaca's another night where it was safe. Thanks again for a great stay. Ron and Kim Seim By the way, please send me your address again, so I can mail you back your house key that I accidentally took with me. :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
