Where to start is hard with this lovely property because there is so much to tell. We opened in 2004 and every guest has just been so pleased with everything on the property. The house is spacious and sleeps up to 33. Lots of personal space for everyone-lots of TV's with DVD/VCRs and movies and games. If your budget and group size is smaller, we have Fawn Meadow next door as an alternative that sleeps 17.
We fully stock our rentals with everything you might need in the way of appliances and cookware, dishes, and utensils. Microwave, coffeemaker, blender, toaster, ice maker with filtered water softener on artesian well water.
You are two minutes to tube rentals on the Guadalupe River (driving distance) and the city of Gruene, just seven minutes to Schlitterbahn.
Large custom picnic tables in heavy shade in the front and back yards with gas grill, covered porch, covered patio. The backyard adjoins to a 1000 acre ranch, so no houses can be seen out the back. From the front you only see trees and road. You are separated on the sides by privacy fencing and trees from other area neighbors. Houses lie at the end of a cul-de-sac, so not much traffic. Former guests have really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings that nature provides.
These houses sit on nearly two acres and are nestled amongst beautiful shade trees. Bedding is all high quality. More towels than you could ever use. We have tried to think of everything!

Pets are fine outside with additional deposit. Absolutely no pets inside the house.
NO Smoking except outside and you must not flick butts into the yard or cleaning crew charges $2 each to pick up.
*** Important *** Any damages to the property or missing inventory (i.e. bed linens, towels, pillows) will be deducted from your deposit, so please make sure all members of your party are aware of this policy.

I have stayed at this property two times. Both experiences were pleasent. I fell in love with gettng up with a morning coffee and putting out some corn for the deer and watch them come and eat it. I have stayed in both fawn meadow, and deer haven. Everythiing has been clean and well maintained both times I have been there, and all the cookware I have needed I have been able to find in the kitchen. It is so quite and peaceful here and it is a bonus that it is close to both Austin and San Antonio. Great place to stay in the summer time for floating down the river and schlitterbahn, and also a great place to stay in the winter to drive to San Antonio for the Alamo and to see the lights on the river walk. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area. Great place and great owners to deal with. A++++

I recommend this place to anyone! I sent my thank you's to Gena for such a wonderful stay as usual, last season, and she has asked me to put it here because someone had put a negative review because they didn't get their whole deposit back. So I wanted to tell anyone that is looking for a wonderful place to stay when you need lots of room, beds, and just a few minutes from the river, this is the place you want to be. I have stayed here three years out of the last six for a festival I like to attend, and I always invite friends and family. The houses are set up so you can have people that are private with their space, and the rest of us can hang together too. It is always clean, and if you need anything, it is there! In fact, every time I have been there, I have thought, I want to own this place! Wish I did because it is so peaceful and beautiful. I have never had any problem with my deposit, but then I didn't break anything. But we did leave something behind, and it was forwarded at no charge. We will always choose Deer Haven.

After picking this place from several options for my annual river trip with my friends, I have to say I will never go back and I urge you to stay away. The cleanliness of the houses were very poor. As was the service I received. After trying to get my deposit back for 5 months, emailing back and forth, calling multiple times, and receiving very little service I finally received a check... only it was for a small fraction of the deposit as they claimed we broke a window. There's way better properties in New Braunfels at a better location, for a better price, that won't screw you around.
Owner response:We regret anyone being unhappy, but in 7 years, with many hundreds of happy guests, it is understandable that a negative review would be made by a person who had the rare experience of their deposit being impacted by property damage during their stay. We've had 3 windows broken in 7 years, and stand by the rules on deposits. We hope you will not be deterred by this one unhappy person's comments because they were held responsible for damage done to the property. I always tell the person that books for a large group, DO NOT PAY THE DEPOSIT YOURSELF! Things can happen that are unexpected. By dividing the deposit, you don't unfairly get burdened because of something you can't foresee. We have a deposit policy on our web site and believe that it is fair and reasonable. More often things that could be charged to deposits are absorbed because of this very reason. But its sometimes necessary when the cost is significant, and its fair to all guests so rates don't hvae to go up. We get so many positive guest reviews directly, and I think a review posted to hurt your business is more about a vendetta than giving a true review of the property. So I've asked some to re-post actual reviews that they sent directly to us if they have the time. WE stand by our deposit policy on our web site www.newbraunfelsvacationrentals.com and we stand by the quality of our properties. When I saw the person had dissed the location, I knew it was all about hurting us and not a review, because, unless you want to be right on the water, you won't find a location like ours. It is about as perfect as you could want.
