Recess lighting equipped with dimmers provides the elegance to feel romantic. If that does not do it, than just step outside to the seven-person "Jacuzzi" with two lighted waterfalls and a lighting system that adds excitement. On those cool days or nights maybe you will want to relax on our stone patio around the stone fire pit. A great place to enjoy conversation and still have a view of the waterfall!
The living room and dining room vaulted ceilings and large windows provide spectacular views of the waterfall and the beautiful mountain landscape. The main level accommodates eat in dining for nine. Why the Owner Chose Lake ToxawayLiving mostly just outside of Washington, DC and having to suffer with those hot sticky mid August heat waves and poor air quality days had us traveling to the mild and clear air of Western North Carolina. It didn't take long to fall in love with the environment and the beautiful scenery of the mountains. We decided to build our large family home in the mountains with a great view of a waterfall to accommodate our family.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseEnjoying outdoor activities is what we do and we love great places to eat. Local restaurants like the "Brown Trout" have quality food and "The Toxaway House" has live music on the weekends. We enjoy the water and just 5 mins. away is "Headwaters Outfitters" where you can cancoe or raft down the river. If you like golf than go to "Sapphire Mountain Golf Course" just 10 minutes from the house. Shopping is available either in Brevard or Cashiers both 20 mins. away. We also enjoy the serenity and quiet that nature brings. Our home is very private and we like to just sit on our deck or sit at our firepit and enjoy the view and nature.
This local restaurant provides a great view of "Toxaway Falls" with reasonable priced meals and live music on the weekends.
This is a quality restaurant with outstanding seafood choices. Because of its upscale environment and popularity it is recommended to make reservations in advance.
This is a public golf course that is just 10 minutes from our property. The rates are reasonable and the views which include a waterfall in one of the holes is outstanding.
It's just 5 minutes from the property to be able to go down the river with cancoes or other boats and rafts. The scenery while traveling down the river is very impressive.

We met as childhood sweethearts (ages 14 and 16)and later married in June of 1970. We have six beautiful children and several grandchildren. After serving in the Air Force in Crete, Greece for 3 years, we realized how much we enjoyed the outdoors and nature. We are a couple that enjoys the outdoors and have a very active lifestyle. We are currently semi-retired and enjoy traveling. We have homes in Maryland, Florida and North Carolina and enjoy what each has to offer.

I've already informed the owner that I will be renting his house again! The pictures do not do this place justice. The location is secluded yet you're just miles a few from Cashiers. The view is literally breathtaking and can be thoroughly enjoyed from the outdoor fireplace or the upper deck. The house feels like home. Comfortable beds. Lots of space. Well appointed. Can not wait to visit again!

My wife, 3 children (12,10,8), in-laws and I stayed at 'Falls View' for a long weekend. We have traveled to a lot of places and consider ourselves pretty picky when it comes to view, amenities, no pets, etc. This house rivals anywhere we have ever stayed. We were a bit concerned about getting to the house itself as it seems someone gets car-sick when we travel winding roads. This turned out to be quite an easy and pretty trip from Hendersonville to Lake Toxaway. The pictures do not do this place justice. First of all, the falls are much closer than the picture shows. You can just sit and listen to the thousands of gallons of water flowing from Lake Toxaway! The house is much larger than it appears on the pictures. The open layout is great for socializing while cooking, watching tv, or watching the Falls. The downstairs was a place unto itself. My kids didn't want us to come down there as they had a 60" Plasma, their own bar to eat on, a small fridge for their drinks, and plenty of fun times with the foosball table (Our 8 year old could beat all of us!). Step out onto the covered patio and decide if you want to take a nap in the hammock, sit at the table, jump in the Jacuzzi, or start a fire in the amazing outdoor fireplace (no need to hunt for wood-it's all provided). If you so choose, you can walk up the outside stairs to sit on the large deck and look at the Falls. Part of it is also covered and has great furniture for relaxing. The grill is hooked up directly to the house propane so you don't need to worry about running out of heat for those nice steaks or fresh trout! We prefer to just relax around the house when we go on short trips so we didn't venture out very much. My wife and I bought some wine and steaks at the wine shop a few miles away. We bought some other food items at the Barn a few more miles away. We bring everything but the kitchen sink when we travel (mother in-law brings her own coffee maker). At this house there were several items such as spices and condiments that would hold you over if you forgot something. We lacked nothing when it came to food preparation or amenities to relax and enjoy ourselves! The property was clean and very well maintained. You could tell the caretaker had decorated for fall and Halloween...very nice touch! The owner was very helpful and even called when we arrived to make sure everything was in order. We will be back to 'Falls View' as many times as possible!
Owner response:We try to decorate our home for different holiday occasions (i.e. Halloween, Christmas, etc.). We do this as a special treat for our house guests. Many times we do not tell them prior. It's our way to Wow! them. Yes, we do agree...it's a nice touch!

My family stayed in the Falls View home in October, and the views were amazing with the fall foliage and waterfall. The home is nicely equipped with great amenities that really added to the overall experience. The foosball table was a big hit with my kids. The poker table, big screen TVs, and board games were great for entertaining purposes. Everything was clean and in proper working order. We used the grill, outdoor fireplace, and jacuzzi without any problems. The photos online don't do the home justice because it is beautiful inside. Appliances are all modern and clean. The large windows and fireplaces create a great ambiance for relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family. The owner was helpful and readily available to answer additional questions, but we didn't have any issues that needed to be addressed during our stay. I would enthusiastically recommend this property to anyone looking to get away for a peaceful vacation. It is close enough to make a day trip to a Clemson football game.

Very nice home with everything you could possible need. We stayed here for an extended weekend with another family and had a wonderful time. The home itself is immaculate and very comfortable. Great place for families with plenty to keep the children busy. We hope to return again. Bonus - there is a very steep but short trail within walking distance of the house that leads to a beautiful waterfall on the toxaway river. Unfortunately, the trail is too steep for small children.

This house is amazing! Definitely better than the pictures and exceeded our expectations. We've rented home before in different areas of the country and this is by far the best we have seen. Usually rental homes have very little in the kitchen & very cheap furnishings in the home. This was exactly the opposite. This home is like your own home with everything you could possibly want inside. The kitchen was amazing with everything you needed (including nice dishes, all the spices you can imagine, & coffee too!) The house was so nicely decorated & perfect for our needs. The view of the falls is incredible & you can hear it from the porch. Everything you would could want and more. The owner couldn't be any nicer. We would definitely recommend this to anyone & can't wait to come back again!!

The waterfall view from the home is spectacular! The house is immaculate. The furnishings are adorable, just what you'd expect in a mountain home. Perfect gaming/movie area for the kids downstairs. Great kitchen. My family of 4 joined my sister's family of 4. There was more than enough room. We had a blast! Rainbow Falls is 5 minutes away, a great hike, waterfall, swim and picnic spot for the whole family. White water rafting and zip-lining just over an hour from the house. The restaraunts in the area are warm and friendly. I can't wait to go back and visit. Definitely staying at this house again!!

We just had a great family summer vacation in this home! The pictures here are great, but you will be amazed when you see this home in person!! The house is very large and the owners have thought of every detail to make your stay enjoyable. It is beautifully decorated and the furniture and appliances are nicer than any home we have stayed in previously....and just wait until you see the view of the waterfall!! There are many fun things to do in this area of North Carolina (hiking, fishing, rafting, golf, etc) but you will be just as happy staying home to enjoy the amazing views, spending time with the family in the recreation room, relaxing in the jacuzzi, or star-gazing by the fire pit. For two families (5 adults and 6 kids age 7 and under) it is not easy to be away from home...but this was the perfect solution. We had plenty of room for all to sleep and play. The kids loved the yard and the games and the adults loved the hot tub and the fire pit. This home had all the amenities of one's own home and then some. We loved the location, too! Our many adventures included gem mining in Highlands, a visit to Sliding Rock, rock skipping in the river, pontooning on Glenville Lake (which has three waterfalls on the lake itself) and just enjoying the view of Toxaway Falls from the house. Nothing starts your day in a better way than coffee on the deck with the sound of the falls in the background. We thoroughly enjoyed our week. I am looking forward to our next visit to this magnificent location. Thank you for sharing your exceptional home with us :-)
