I've already informed the owner that I will be renting his house again! The pictures do not do this place justice. The location is secluded yet you're just miles a few from Cashiers. The view is literally breathtaking and can be thoroughly enjoyed from the outdoor fireplace or the upper deck. The house feels like home. Comfortable beds. Lots of space. Well appointed. Can not wait to visit again!

My wife, 3 children (12,10,8), in-laws and I stayed at 'Falls View' for a long weekend. We have traveled to a lot of places and consider ourselves pretty picky when it comes to view, amenities, no pets, etc. This house rivals anywhere we have ever stayed. We were a bit concerned about getting to the house itself as it seems someone gets car-sick when we travel winding roads. This turned out to be quite an easy and pretty trip from Hendersonville to Lake Toxaway. The pictures do not do this place justice. First of all, the falls are much closer than the picture shows. You can just sit and listen to the thousands of gallons of water flowing from Lake Toxaway! The house is much larger than it appears on the pictures. The open layout is great for socializing while cooking, watching tv, or watching the Falls. The downstairs was a place unto itself. My kids didn't want us to come down there as they had a 60" Plasma, their own bar to eat on, a small fridge for their drinks, and plenty of fun times with the foosball table (Our 8 year old could beat all of us!). Step out onto the covered patio and decide if you want to take a nap in the hammock, sit at the table, jump in the Jacuzzi, or start a fire in the amazing outdoor fireplace (no need to hunt for wood-it's all provided). If you so choose, you can walk up the outside stairs to sit on the large deck and look at the Falls. Part of it is also covered and has great furniture for relaxing. The grill is hooked up directly to the house propane so you don't need to worry about running out of heat for those nice steaks or fresh trout! We prefer to just relax around the house when we go on short trips so we didn't venture out very much. My wife and I bought some wine and steaks at the wine shop a few miles away. We bought some other food items at the Barn a few more miles away. We bring everything but the kitchen sink when we travel (mother in-law brings her own coffee maker). At this house there were several items such as spices and condiments that would hold you over if you forgot something. We lacked nothing when it came to food preparation or amenities to relax and enjoy ourselves! The property was clean and very well maintained. You could tell the caretaker had decorated for fall and Halloween...very nice touch! The owner was very helpful and even called when we arrived to make sure everything was in order. We will be back to 'Falls View' as many times as possible!

Owner response:We try to decorate our home for different holiday occasions (i.e. Halloween, Christmas, etc.). We do this as a special treat for our house guests. Many times we do not tell them prior. It's our way to Wow! them. Yes, we do agree...it's a nice touch!

Wonderful mountain home!

My family stayed in the Falls View home in October, and the views were amazing with the fall foliage and waterfall. The home is nicely equipped with great amenities that really added to the overall experience. The foosball table was a big hit with my kids. The poker table, big screen TVs, and board games were great for entertaining purposes. Everything was clean and in proper working order. We used the grill, outdoor fireplace, and jacuzzi without any problems. The photos online don't do the home justice because it is beautiful inside. Appliances are all modern and clean. The large windows and fireplaces create a great ambiance for relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family. The owner was helpful and readily available to answer additional questions, but we didn't have any issues that needed to be addressed during our stay. I would enthusiastically recommend this property to anyone looking to get away for a peaceful vacation. It is close enough to make a day trip to a Clemson football game.

Very nice home with everything you could possible need. We stayed here for an extended weekend with another family and had a wonderful time. The home itself is immaculate and very comfortable. Great place for families with plenty to keep the children busy. We hope to return again. Bonus - there is a very steep but short trail within walking distance of the house that leads to a beautiful waterfall on the toxaway river. Unfortunately, the trail is too steep for small children.

This house is amazing! Definitely better than the pictures and exceeded our expectations. We've rented home before in different areas of the country and this is by far the best we have seen. Usually rental homes have very little in the kitchen & very cheap furnishings in the home. This was exactly the opposite. This home is like your own home with everything you could possibly want inside. The kitchen was amazing with everything you needed (including nice dishes, all the spices you can imagine, & coffee too!) The house was so nicely decorated & perfect for our needs. The view of the falls is incredible & you can hear it from the porch. Everything you would could want and more. The owner couldn't be any nicer. We would definitely recommend this to anyone & can't wait to come back again!!

The Perfect Family and Friends Getaway!

The waterfall view from the home is spectacular! The house is immaculate. The furnishings are adorable, just what you'd expect in a mountain home. Perfect gaming/movie area for the kids downstairs. Great kitchen. My family of 4 joined my sister's family of 4. There was more than enough room. We had a blast! Rainbow Falls is 5 minutes away, a great hike, waterfall, swim and picnic spot for the whole family. White water rafting and zip-lining just over an hour from the house. The restaraunts in the area are warm and friendly. I can't wait to go back and visit. Definitely staying at this house again!!

There are many fun things to do in this area of North Carolina (hiking, fishing, rafting, golf, etc) but you will be just as happy staying home to enjoy the amazing views, spending time with the family in the recreation room, relaxing in the jacuzzi, or star-gazing by the fire pit. an absolute gem

For two families (5 adults and 6 kids age 7 and under) it is not easy to be away from home...but this was the perfect solution. We had plenty of room for all to sleep and play. The kids loved the yard and the games and the adults loved the hot tub and the fire pit. This home had all the amenities of one's own home and then some. We loved the location, too! Our many adventures included gem mining in Highlands, a visit to Sliding Rock, rock skipping in the river, pontooning on Glenville Lake (which has three waterfalls on the lake itself) and just enjoying the view of Toxaway Falls from the house. Nothing starts your day in a better way than coffee on the deck with the sound of the falls in the background. We thoroughly enjoyed our week. I am looking forward to our next visit to this magnificent location. Thank you for sharing your exceptional home with us :-)

My husband and 2 kids had a great stay. The place is beautiful and every possible need and desire was met. Great amenities, esp.in the kitchen. We used the outside firepit every night. The view was gorgeous and plenty of room for a couple of families. The large flat screen was perfect for March Madness and the hot tub was the ticket after hiking.

What an unbelievably perfect mountain home! Not a detail was left out....fabulous kitchen fully stocked with the finest cookware, master suite that was a retreat by itself, flat screen televisions, jacuzzi overlooking the mountains, beautiful furnishings, professional landscaping.....the list goes on and on. It was hard to believe that the owner would be willing to share such fine accomodations. This place by far exceeded our expectations.

White Christmas

Our entire family spent Christmas at "Falls View at Toxaway" in 2010, and it was one of our most memorable Christmases ever. The home is beautifully decorated, totally stocked and equipped with everything you need in the fabulous kitchen, and immaculately clean throughout. The upstairs living area was perfect for family time together. We could cook meals while visiting at the kitchen bar, or playing games at the table or watching TV, all while enjoying the spectacular view of the falls. The downstairs den/gameroom was perfect for the guys to watch football, play foosball or cards and just relax. The hot tub was enjoyed by everyone and was such a treat in the cold weather. The home is designed in such a way that there is room enough for a large family to all be together or for everyone to have their own private space. We had prayed for a White Christmas and boy did we get one! We woke up on Christmas morning to a white blanket over the mountain and the trees laden with snow...it looked like a picture postcard. We snowboarded down the hills, roasted marshmallows at the firepit and made a snowman. It was a blast! We were close enough to Highlands and Cashiers to do some shopping and close enough to a ski slope for the kids to ski and snowboard. The home is so lovely...the pictures really don't do it justice. The owners are gracious and caring hosts. We highly recommend "Falls View at Toxaway" for a perfect mountain vacation experience.

Our Family Wedding Weekend

This was our first experience with a vacation rental and it was incredible! The house was even more beautiful than pictured and the lovely fall decorations added a lot to the welcome feel of the property. The rooms were so well decorated and all the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the jacuzzi so much. All the instructions were thorough and handled every question we had. It was way more than we expected and we would highly recommend this home for family vacations-it was quiet and private but spacious enough for a large family gathering. It was a wonderful experience!

The house is beautiful and well appointed. It is tastefully decorated and we had every amenity. The views and area are wonderful. The outside decking is roomy and we spent much time here in the evenings relaxing, visiting with each other, and enjoying the great outdoors. The kitchen/dining/sitting area is especially nice for the adults. The children loved the downstairs great room. The owners were helpful and accessible. We had a wonderful vacation. I would highly recommend this beautiful property and would definitely stay here again. We did a lot of hiking and playing in water falls. We felt the location of this home was central to these areas of interest. We also went kayaking. The locals and business owners in the area are delightful, friendly people. The house is very clean, well maintained, and accurately described on the web page. If we ever win the lottery my son wants to make the owners an offer they can't refuse to purchase this beautiful home.

We stayed at this cottage (actually, this is a mansion cottage) for the week of Christmas '09. I was in desperate need of a getaway Christmas vacation, and our group was just awed by everything. The home is phenominal, the personal effects made us feel at home and the homeowner was very accomodating (we were allowed to put up a Christmas tree). The view was perfect. We had several challenges along the way, namely the road leading to the driveway was iced and we had to walk the length of a football field to get to the front door from the car (it made unpacking the car a chore), and the pump to the private well died and we had to leave a day early due to no water. Obviously these were incidents of 'pooh happens' and in no way are a reflection of the house and still didnt take away from what we wanted from the trip, and the homeowner was EXTREMELY accomodating toward any inconvenience we faced. The only recommendation we would give is internet access would have helped while planning a few events. Luckily the very friendly neighbor offered us use via his wireless network (unfortunately for the network to reach wirelessly I had to almost walk into his yard). We will be planning another trip and I wouldnt stay anywhere else. If the stock market had been better to me I'd put in an offer to buy this place :-) Cant wait to come back!

As most of us were aware of, last winter was the worst in many decades and Sean and his family made the best of it. Unfortunately, a winter lightning storm (very rare) struck our well pump and on Christmas Day there was no water. The family did have to leave a day early but it was repaired the very next day, thanks to a very kind Well Repairman who worked during the holiday.

We recently returned from spending 4 nights at this beautiful home in the mountains. It far exceeded our expectations. This rental will greatly exceed your expectations. Its spacious three floors have quality furnishings throughout. No expense was spared in any room--and the kitchen has many top-of-the line features that'll delight everyone. Spectacular views can be enjoyed relaxing on a huge deck on the second-story or while sitting on the large patio by the outdoor fireplace. Abundant recreational opportunities and a number of wonderful restaurants are within a 30-minute drive (and lots of pamphlets are at the house to give you options). This incredible house, the "Falls View at Toxaway," will easily be the nicest place you've ever stayed. The surroundings are stunning, but the house even moreso; it is huge ... but still warm, charming, comfortable and welcoming. Everything about it is first-rate, from furniture to finishings, from bedding to bathrooms. When you rent something from a distance, you take the chance that it may not meet your expectations. My family and I have been rather lucky, and most places have worked out. In this particular case, however, the house OVERWHELMED our expectations! You'll take a lot of vacations, and stay in lots of places, but you'll remember this house forever.
