"Exerpt from guest book" This home is just what I needed to get my batteries charged and feel good about life again. My daughters and I thank you for all your help and information as well as the obvious time and effort you have spent in the great updates to this home. This is the second time we have stayed here and it was good before but the unexpected updates to the deck and kitchen were great and really made the difference. Im definately coming back for a third trip next year.

Had a great time at the Hideaway and really got to relax more than any other vacation we have ever had. Were trying to get everyones schedules so we can come back next year. I was ordered by my doctor to get some rest and relaxation. Thats exactly what my wife made me do when she rented your lovely home. We sat on the dock, in the hot tub and on your new deck watching the deer and birds. I enjoyed the massage chair downstairs that rubbed the aches from my muscles that have accumulated over the last few years. I never knew how exhausted I had been until I got to rest finally at your hideaway which is exactly what it is; a hideaway from all the stress in my life. Thank you very much for renting this place to us. I am writing this review wishing I was back there now. Thank you for your service to our country. I am a Korean vet myself and I met the neighbor one morning who told me you have been in combat several times with the 101st Airborne.

Exerpt from guestbook... Hank thank you for renting us your beautiful home. This has been the best week ever for my husband and I to spend with eachother. The hot tub is excellent and the pool time definately helped my tan ;) When I could pry my husband away from the boat dock we had alot of fun together but otherwise he was too busy feeding fish ha ha. Were already talking about setting our schedules so that we can come back next year.

If you want a clean house...don't stay here If you want to take a shower and do dishes at the same time w/o running out of water...don't stay here If you like a nice cool place in the hot summer...don't stay here! If you like a clean pool to swim in with a working filter and fountain....don't stay here! If you want a clean, safe boat to use along with the house that has a working radio...don't stay here! If your air-condtioning goes out while vacationing and you need to get a hold of the maintenance staff in 90' tempatures...don't stay here! In conclusion, if you want a relaxing, calm, vacation with fishing, swimming, boating...DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!!

Owner response:Im sorry you found a hair in the bathroom and dust on a tv and consider the entire house to be dirty. Im sorry you couldnt comply with the rental agreement and signage on property and pool to not enter the pool or hot tub unless you have showered if you have been in the lake due to algae and the adverse effects on chlorinated water when mixed. Im also sorry for the man hours and chemicals I had to pay for to repair the damage your non-compliance caused. The air conditioner did go out but I purchased a mobile unit that cooled the home off until the HVAC repairman could get to the house. I apologize for his slow response but due to the heat wave and his work load it was the best I could do. The boat did make a metalic dinging noise when in low throttle due to the previous renters breaking the gimble bearing on teh lower unit but it was safe, serviceable and you used the boat for the entire week. The fact that you received the house at a discounted rate and the boat for free must have escaped you while writing your complaint. The fact that you failed to comply with check-out procedures, left trash inside the house and in the yard, left cigarette butts on the deck and put dirty dishes in the cabinets must have escaped you as well. So that being said please feel free to follow your own advise and "dont stay here". I hope you have a better vacation somewhere else.

Thank you for letting us stay at your wonderful home. The description you gave was exactly what we experienced. This was our 3rd time at this home and it gets better every time. I loved the massage chair downstairs, great added amenity to this property. We loved the new grill and as always couldnt stay out of the pool or hot tub long before we were back in one of them. The swimming was great and I got the best tan ever on your boat dock! My husband was very happy to see how brown I got lol. Thanks again and we plan to be back next year or year after at the latest.

2011 Family Vacation

Iam writing this review on property 79455. This property is inneed of maintenace from exterior to interior the pool was not clean from our 1st day and mid-week was green. boat ramp was definetly not useable and the boat dock was very steep and several steps to get down to difficult for seniors also the sleeping conditions were poor 2 of the beds were broke contacted local rep. was nice but was unable to offer us any reinbursement she rec. us calling owner our family left property early due to conditions we gave the rep. a list of the problems didnt get treated very fair on reinbursement from owner.This was a trip we were taking our parents. On main waterways of norris lake awesome. there was a lot debris in the cove were this property was.

Owner response: I am very sorry to hear of your displeasure with the property. I want to note that every complaint that you gave beginning Wednesday of your stay until the end of your stay Saturday was given prompt attention. As per the agreement and the signage on the pool we ask that you not get into the pool or hot tub after swimming in the lake due to algae content. When weather conditions are right a chlorinated body of water can turn green within hours. You neglected the signage and caused this problem. As for the property needing maintenance. I have a maintenance man on standby and all we needed was a phone call to go out and screw in the board on the porch which you identified as loose. The air mattress was indeed damaged and another missing which within 2 hours of notifying us we had 2 brand new ones to you. There may have been debris on the lake due to the storm that had occured the day of your arrival which was obviously washed away by the time I looked and had no power to effect regardless. Of course your review didnt discus the condition you left the home in nor did it address the damage that you caused during your stay. Overall, I whole-heartedly feel that we did everything we could to accomodate you during your stay and I would say we even went above and beyond the call of duty to ease your minds and facilitate a quality vacation for you and your family. To be honest, on the rare occasion that we are informed of a problem at a property there is someone at that property within 3 hours. For every complaint you gave which was considerable we sent someone out to help you. I did refund some of your money just to help ease your mind over the couple of complaints that we could validate and even the complaints of the bed being too high for you, the board creaking on the porch, the piece of dog food that you found under an outdoor chair cushion and the grass not being mowed that week due to rain. Please feel free to stay at any other property on Norris Lake if you decide to return.

We had such a wonderful week! The house was wonderful... all the comforts of home and more! Everything was clean and organized. We used the Boat for four days on this beautiful clean lake. We swam and went tubing and just rode around. for hours sight seeing. The kids loved the hot tub. I personally enjoyed the massage chair and used it EVERY night. Anyways, Hank thank you so much for letting us use your house. If we will be back. PS: Our dog had a great time too!

We had an outstanding team building and professional developement event here at the LakeFront Hideaway. It had all the features and ammenities we needed to bond and recover from a hard day on the Cumberland Trail where we hiked and worked on our rappelling skills at the Devils Race Track. This has been the best place we have ever stayed and all 9 of us are talking about coming back with our families. The tree foliage and hot tub along with the fire pit made this home well worth the trip. We had a great time. The weather was excellent. The fishing wasn't as good as expected. Only 3 fish the whole week. We tood day trips to Pigeon Forge/Dollywood and Gatlinburg. I would receommend this place when looking to do some serious relaxing. We like the hot tub, fire pit, pool, pier, the giant tub and the $2.50 movie theater up the street. In all it was a very nice getaway from Baltimore, Maryland.

August 5th – 8th 2007We really enjoyed our family get-together here at the lakehouse. We loved the house. The kids loved the pool and we found the lake to be very quiet. Although down quite a lot. EXERPT FROM GUESTBOOK: We enjoyed our stay while experiencing weather swings from 85 - the 20's. As we pack up this morning we trudge through a dusting of snow on the ground. Most of our time was spent in Middlesboro ans Cumberland Gap areas. There is nothing that this house is lacking for our vacation needs! :) The hot tub was relaxing, the beds very comfortable and the scenery was so relaxing.
