Or exert yourself cross country skiing at the Nordic Center, try some snowshoeing, then hit the shops, restaurants and bars in Whitefish. The choice is yours, and this is a perfect place to do it!
Summer fun includes: Hiking, biking (on or off road), zip-line, golf, tennis, fishing, river rafting, swimming (Ptarmigan Village maintains a beach on Whitefish Lake, ask at office for directions).

This non-smoking condominium is in Ptarmigan Village, a private, established mountain resort community set into the forest on Big Mountain Road. The buildings are hidden in the trees, blending into the forest. The resort has many amenities including indoor and outdoor heated pools, sauna, hot tub, and peaceful walking trails in a 52-acre private forest with jaw-dropping views of Whitefish Lake in the valley.
This condominium has been recently renovated with new carpet, tile and updated bathrooms. The main floor includes a full kitchen (with fly-fishing mural on cabinets); a comfortable living area with TV/VCR and fireplace; and full bath. A loft overlooks the living area with queen-size rustic log bed. Two bedrooms on the lower level share a full bath. One of these rooms has a full bed, one has two twin beds. Beautiful artist-rendered mural of a horse farm/ barn in the larger lower level bedroom (see pictures).
Big Mountain Ski and Summer Resort offers world-class skiing, awesome snow conditions, short lift lines, reasonable rates and zero attitude. Summer activities include: Hiking, horseback riding, golf, fishing, boating, swimming, biking.
Glacier National Park is an incredible treasure of breathtaking views, teeming wildlife, and national historic treasures. Waterton Provincial Park in Canada extends the experience to the North, and a stunning area is set aside in Northwestern Montana and Alberta for preservation and recreation. Hiking, boating, hunting, fishing, mountain biking, the list goes on.
Whitefish, only six miles down the road, is one of the last examples of a down-to-earth, Old West ski town. Whitefish has terrific restaurants, nightlife, and one-of-a-kind shops.

I stay in this condo every year! It is great for the money, close to the hill, and is very cozy. Todd is great to work with, always accomodating to my annual dates. I even requested wi-fi a while back ago, and he told me he got it for this year! Ptarmigan is a nice rental area and I love the view. Condo comes full stocked with all kitchen needs, the safeway in town is wonderful. The beds are comfy, space is great for 6, last year we had 10 and we rented the adjacent condo and that worked perfect! Love this condo and will continue to book it.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers.

All the pictures and listing info was accurate except for one HUGE thing. No where in your listing does it mention that the unit did not have a phone. This was a HUGE problem. My sister and her family were staying in another part of Ptarmigan and we were unable to call them to make any sort of arrangements to meet here or there, etc. We also could not contact the front office with questions. In addition, our vehicle broke down and we had to make numerous phone calls for towing, car rentals, mechanics, etc. We never use our cell phone in the US because it is so expensive. We are expecting our bill from this to be at least $200.00. This would have all been avoided if the condo had a telephone. We love Ptarmigan and will always go there, but we will not be renting from you again. The worst part is you would have had a lifetime renter. We come every year at least once.
Owner response:Telephone has been re-installed in unit and is functional. Past guests have stated they did not need a phone, everyone preferred their cell phones.

My family of 9 stayed at Todd's condo in July 2010 for 3 nights. It worked out very well. We loved the swimming pools (the indoor pool and outdoor hottub are brand new and very nice), the fishing pond stocked with trout, and the beach down on Whitefish Lake. The condo itself is, as my dad would say, adequate for its purpose. Kitchen is small and didn't accommodate our brood very well. Sleeping accommodations were fine. No complaints about the bedding from anyone in our group. The only other negative is the shared deck. We enjoyed the deck the first night that we were there but then a group checked into the adjacent unit and took over the deck and used it for their smoking place. Not a huge issue but a drawback. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Todd was great to deal with. Thanks!
Owner response:Very accurate assessment of the condo. Space works best for up to 6 people, 8 becomes tight. 9 is too many without tripping over each other! Best to rent an additional 2 bedroom condo next door if have lots of folks.
