Warmly appointed with a mahogany bed, leather sofa and burgundy accents, the Carriage House is perfect for a comfortable and cozy romantic retreat, anniversary weekend getaway, or wonderful summer vacation.
Wake up to the gentle sounds of a peaceful country morning. Enjoy a cup of coffee while watching a fox scamper across the field. Meander down the road and visit with Smoky "the one-eyed cat" as she sits on the fence post. Soak up the morning sun while reading in a chair next to the pond. Hike our private trails on the 270 acres of our Fairhill Farm and High Fields Farm. Fish in, or relax by, our private ponds or in the bordering South River.
After a breathtaking sunset, the firefly displays on summer evenings will almost outshine the spectacular starry sky. The evening ends with a symphony of sounds courtesy of the resident frogs and crickets. In fall, cuddle up with a book and glass of wine by the fire.

His passion is collecting fine wines and caring for his miniature horses, dogs and cats on his three farms nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just 2 hours from the nation's capital. If prompted, he will regale you with personal anecdotes and tales from his high profile positions serving two Presidents and counseling foreign heads-of-state.

My husband and I stayed at the Fairhill Farms Cottage Studio. We found it very warm and cozy. It overlooked the most beautiful mountain scenery. It was so peacful and quiet, the perfect getaway and also the perfect spot to wake up in the morning for a quiet walk or just sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee. The entire property was amazing! It was the perfect locaton to the many plans we made: horseback riding, fly fishing, golfing, Ski Line Drive and the Hot Air Balloon Festival. The Hot Air Balloon Festival is near Front Royal about a 2 hour trip, but the scenerie was worth the trip! We plan to go back next year with family.

In addition to our three bedroom High Fields Farm vacation home with a private pool on its own 130 acre farm, we also have our two bedroom Carrie's Cottage and the carriage House Studio located on our adjacent 140 acre Fairhill Farm, that have exclusive rights to the manor house pool. Our farms comprise almost 300 acres with ponds and streams to explore and miniature horses to enjoy. There are over five miles of private trails. We are less than a 15 minute drive from the Swift Run Gap entrance to the Shenandoah Nation Park, Skyline and Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Appalachian Trail. We are convenient to historic sites such as Monticello, Montpelier, Ash Lawn and University of Virginia. We are near a number of excellent wineries nearby.
