You can experience and explore the historical sites,cafes, restaurants and wonderful markets of this lively Provencal Town.Stroll down to the local boulanger to buy croissants,be tempted by the local produce you see at the market, capture the true essence of the South of France. Originally a Spa town founded by the Romans,today it is a labyrinth of tiny alleyways and squares and is known as the 'City of a Thousand Fountains'.Of all th regions of France, Provence is one of the most irresistable.Use Aix as your base to visit many of the beautiful villages of the region.You can explore Avignon and the Luberon, the coastal villages of Cassis and Bandol.Take a boat trip to the crystal clear waters of the 'Calanques'. Marseille,the Cote D'Azur and the stunning 'Gorge Du Verdun'are all within easy reach from Aix.
