THIS WELL APPOINTED, AIR CONDITIONED TERRACED APARTMENT is situated two minutes walk from the famous Cours Mirabeau, which is in the heart of the historic town of Aix en Provence. Located in the very centre of the old town, it is in a quiet, charming street close to the market and all amenities.
Originally a Spa town founded by the Romans,today it is a labyrinth of tiny alleyways and squares and is known as the 'City of a Thousand Fountains'. Of all the regions of France, Provence is one of the most irresistable.From the wonderful lavender fields, to the rich and colourful villages and towns, you feel a real sense of history and culture of the area.
You can experience and explore the historical sites,cafes, restaurants and superb markets of this lively Provencal town literally within walking distance of the apartment. Stroll down to the local boulanger to buy croissants or just sit with a coffee and enjoy the bustle of the market being set up for the day. Imagine the local produce that you will see at the daily market, the smell of fresh melons,the wonderful array of vegetables,fish and cheese. Capture the true essence of the South of France from our family run apartment in Aix.
Use Aix as your base to visit many of the beautiful villages of the region.You can explore the famous cities of Avignon and Arles,the stunning villages and markets of the Luberon. The coastal villages of Cassis and Bandol to name but a few, are within easy reach of Aix.A boat trip to the crystal clear waters of the 'Calanques' would be a real 'must' on the list of things to do. If you are a wine enthusiast, vineyards are scatterd around the whole region of Aix en Provence. Cultural, wine and food tastng tours in Aix can be arranged on request.
Marseille, the Cote D'Azur , Saint Tropez,and the 'Gorge Du Verdun' are also easily accessible.Suffice to say there is a huge amount of choice, catering for all types of tastes and interests!
Accommodation:
The apartment has many traditional features, including original wooden beams throughout.It has been refurbished to a high standard, sleeping six people. As you enter this 3rd floor apartment,the lower floor comprises of 3 bedrooms,two showers and bathroom. On the upper level, there is a bright, spacious lounge and dining area with adjoining kitchen.
While preparing lunch from the kitchen you can look out onto terrace,roof tops and the hills beyond.THE LOUNGE EXTENDS OUT ONTO THE TERRACE, CAPTURING THE SUN THROUGHOUT THE DAY. Visitors have the option to prepare diner on the BBQ.

One of the highlights of the apartment is the terrace. You can enjoy sitting on the sun filled terrace throughout the whole day.This is extremely rare in the centre of Aix.
Markets, shopping,museums,galleries and restaurants are all within easy walking distance from the apartment.
Food plays a large part in our daily lives here in France. We can tell you where our favourite cheese shop is located, the best coffee in town and where the most mouth watering patisseries can be bought.

This journey for our family has been very varied and interesting, giving us a true insight into french culture and way of life. The flat was a home away from home with everything supplied.The garage for our rented car was wonderful to have , as it was safe and very close to the apartment.We thoroughly enjoyed all our fresco dining on your patio, and our trip to Cassis beach. The location of the apartment is superb,beside all the shops and markets. Thank you for providing us with your very gracious lift from the airport.

Thank you both so much for a lovely visit to Aix en Provence.We enjoyed the apartment, especially the patio where we spent time basking in the sun. Following our three week tour of Europe and eating meals out, we had fun shopping, we had fun shopping in the markets and cooking some of our meals in your Provence Cook Book ! Exploring Aix and the surrounding countryside at our own pace was quite pleasant. It is a beautiful area!
