This comfortably large executive home is located 2 blocks from the base of Alyeska Ski resort, 45 minutes south of Anchorage along the scenic Seward highway.
Girdwood offers a bounty of both winter and summer activities, from downhill and cross-country skiing in winter to hiking and biking in the summer.
Girdwood is the ideal basecamp for your alaska vacation, centrally located to some of the best fishing in Alaska, and only 20 miles north of Whittier and Portage, the launching point for glacier and marine tours and Prince William Sound.
Situated in the most northerly temperate rain forest, Girdwood is surrounded by the Chugach National forest, the third largest national forest in the United States.
Your host, Bill Connell, is happy to assist you in the planning of your dream alaska vacation.
The Girdwood Suite Retreat has some very unique and special features:
1) The house is located on 0.6 acre surrounded old growth forest and is one of the largest parcels of land so close to the base of the resort.
2) The home was constructed in 2001 by EECC, one of the top contractors in Alaska. It is a 3000 square foot house designed to be open and comfortable.
3) It has one of the largest private outside decks in Girdwood with a covered hot tub that has a view of the Alyeska tram and the ski resort.
The features of the house include four bedrooms, two and a half baths, with a total of five sleeping areas that accommodate 10 people comfortably. The upstairs has three large bedrooms and two bedrooms can be made into a separate suite for privacy. There is a large loft with a futon and recreation activities for children and a full bath. Going downstairs is the master bedroom, including a separate walk-in bathroom with garden tub, full-size shower and walk-in closets. The house also features a separate formal dining area, which can sit eight people, a large spacious family room, an ultra modern kitchen with granite countertops and maple cabinets and stainless steel appliances. In addition there is a mud room with a half bath and front loader washer and dryer. Going out the back kitchen door you will find one of the most private, largest decks in Girdwood. Going up a 30 foot walkway you will find a 30 by 30 deck where with a covered area towards the back of the deck and a eight person hot tub and barbeque area. The deck is surrounded by trees and completely private.
One bedroom offers an office setup complete with fax machine, copier, and high speed Internet. The upstairs bathroom is equipped with safety grab bars. There also is a two car garage and parking for four vehicles in the driveway.

$500/night 10 people, use of entire house, 2 night minimum.
12% Anchorage Borough Bed Tax applies.
10% discount for one week or more, or for active duty military.
50% deposit to confirm reservation. Balance due 30 days prior to arrival.
Cancellations less than 30 days will be refunded ONLY if unit is rebooked.
