Stayed at the Girdwood Suite retreat over Super Bowl week end. Was immediatly impressed on the quality of the unit upon arrival. Nice new fixtures, incredibly spacious, nice rooms, and a hot tub! The location was fantastic as it was in walking distance to the Merc and Silvertip, as well as the mountain. I would certainly rent again!

Although we found the Girdwood Suite Retreat early in our search for the ideal rental site, we were not able to book until the last minute. In both our early discussions with Bill and in our last minute booking He was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Extra referrals to other area resources were accurate and appreciated as well. Our group had a mixture of needs, individual as well as small family....the various rooms, kitchen and other amenities were a great fit. No question we would stay there again. Some of our group are already talking about doing so. Thanks Bill

Four of us stayed at this property for a night in January, and we would all gladly rent it again. The house is in a great location, within walking distance to the base of Alyeska or great restaurants such as Jack Sprats or the Sitzmark for watching live bands. The property is private & quiet with a large, covered hot tub, which is great after a long day of chilly skiing. The house is clean, open, and spacious, perfect for large or small groups. The owner was very accomodating and friendly; we can't wait to return!

My daughter wanted to get married up on top at Alyeska. While she was making plans for that, I found this rental and sent her a link. As soon as she saw the house she said, "we are getting married there instead!" So, in January with a bunch of new snow falling every day, we stayed six days. It was so pretty and fairly warm so we had the wedding on the back deck. It was so much fun, yet the place felt very private. My wife loved the master suite with jet tub, and though we had a lot of people staying there, no one complained of crowding, or lack of facilities. We were even able to have the groom and guys stay in the cabin and do the traditional "not see the bride the day of" which is what he wanted. It was nice to be able to park in the garage and set all the skis out in the garage as well. When my wife and daughter went to town one day, the rest of us were able to just walk back from the ski lodge. We thought about just leaving our skis at the lodge, but then decide to just carry them. Even the kids did not complain and I think the walk only took about ten minutes. It is really pretty close. As close to ski-in-ski-out as you will find in Girdwood. Grocery store was close and the prices were not too bad. This is a very nice house, and for a large group of people it was one of the better deals out there. I would definitely stay here again and even if it was just our immediate family, we would probably choose to only rent the house and not the cabin to save a little money. Bill was a tremendous amount of help in answering questions and getting the driveway plowed (it snowed something like six inches a day!). Quite the winter wonderland feeling. It was beautiful. My kids loved the hot tub after a day of skiing.
Owner response:Thank you so much for the kind review. I have never responded to a review but for your daughter to choose my house for the wedding says it all! Thank so much for staying and please come again. Kind Regards Bill

I recently brought a group of 11 athletes and two coaches to Girdwood for some races. This house with the cabin was ideal for our group. There was plenty of room for everyone and we had everything we needed. The Garage was great for tuning and having WiFi was a nice change form other places I have stayed in Girdwood. Compared to other rentals in Girdwood for ski teams this is the only place that I will stay in the future. Thanks

Roomy and tastefully furnished with every convenience. Eight of us spent a long week-end and enjoyed our time here immensely. Quiet and private, but centrally located to everything in the Girdwood area. We would recommend this spot to anyone.

Our stay was very comfortable. The house is very spacious. There were 5 of us, including my mother and we each had our own room and privacy. The kitchen is great and provided all our needs. Master Bedroom and bath are very nice. Bill was very accommodating. We did not use the cabin but would next time, bringing up more family. Centralized location for traveling from north of Anchorage to Homer. This is ideal for a ski vacation.

A few of my friends and I recently stayed at Girdwood Suite Retreat and we had a GREAT time. We particularly enjoyed the roomy hottub and the comfortable living room. The property was clean, comfortable, and well mantained. In addition it was a short (15 mins or so) walk from some great restaurants and of course the Sitzmark Bar in Girdwood. There were six adults and we all had plenty of room to spread out and plenty of room to lay our heads down to sleep. We didn't use the cabin at the back of the house but I can't wait to come back with an even larger party next time and take advantage of that. A few of house hopped in the car and drove about five minutes and took advantage of Winner Creek Trail which was not too strenous and perfect for a cool spring day. The owner was very helpful and answered all of my numerous questions in a timely manner. Overall, I couldn't be happier with our time at Girdwood Suite Retreat. See you real soon, I hope!

This home was everything we wanted and more! We had a group of 10-15 women and needed a good amt of space to eat, drink, hang out, hot tub, sleep, etc. The bedrooms were roomy with comfortable beds and the cabin was perfect (Bill I want the blueprints so we can build our own!) The hot tub was is great shape, fit plenty of us, and was clean and well-cared for. Plenty of parking; offers a large dining room table with 6 chairs in addition to a kitchen table with 5-6 chairs; kitchen was fully loaded; stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and coffee maker all worked well; plenty of stemware for wine and drinks; deck is huge, etc etc. Bill made the reservation process very easy for our large group, and he allowed us to take our time checking out which was very appreciated. All weekend long we talked about how this will become an annual event for us and we plan to reserve this home again in the future! Thanks Bill!

We were all jaw drops when we arrived here for a ski weekend. What a place! It really does sleep as many as it claims, in beds, not couches, etc. Has plenty of space for all, and is walking distance from the mountain. We really had a great time here and Bill couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating to us. You won't be let down by this place. Thanks Bill!

We had our wedding there on the 28th of August, we couldn't have chosen a more perfect setting. The owner, from the beginning was so helpful and offered such wonderful ideas.. down to making sure the flowers around the house were perfect. They were so beautiful and inviting for the guests. Our wedding was a small affair and the house would have comfortably fit alot more people. It did rain on our wedding day but the inside fireplace was perfect for the occasion. The memories we made that weekend were phenomenal.. from the wedding, to hiking glaciers nearby, to just relaxing on the spacious deck in the evenings. I feel so blessed to have found such an amazing house with such beautiful character. We will be vacationing there a couple times a year from now on, as well as alot of our guests. Thank You, to the owner.... for opening up such a good vibe, beautiful home for people to enjoy!!! Truly a rare Gem !!

As an employee of HomeAway, I got the chance to use our service for the first time in Girdwood, AK. My family and I spent a week in this awesome home, deep in the Alyeska Mountain region of Girdwood (about 1 hour from downtown Anchorage). The house was perfect for our retreat, we especially loved the fact that it was very close to lots of great sightseeing, restaurants and services. We went down to Whittier, Seward, up the Alyeska Tram, Crow Creek Mine, hiked to the Hand Tram and lots of other fun days. The house is very big, woulds sleep many more. We had use of their large deck and hot tub (which was fun to use after a long day of walking around glaciers and hiking). Bill was an excellent host, although we never met him personally, he made sure our stay was perfect. He checked in and made sure we knew to call him if we needed anything! He was very knowledgeable about the area and would definitely rent this house again if we go to Alaska for another vacation in the future.

The Girdwood Suite Retreat housed 4 couples who were attending a wedding nearby. The house was in great condition--clean, fully equiped, and very comfortable. Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the company of poeple we hadn't seen for a while. We bought food at Costco and Fred Meyer in Anchorage and were set for our 3 day stay. We enjoyed grilling on the back deck one evening. With all the wedding activiies we weren't able to explore the area as much as we would have liked. Most of the group did do some hiking nearby. It was the beginning of a great Alaska vacation. Would recommend the Suite Retreat to anyone staying with a group.

We wanted to have a small wedding and reception in Gidwood in February 2010 and we were more than happy with Girdwood Suite Retreat. The owner (Bill) was willing to work with our tight schedule, accomodate all our guests, and all in a very professional manner. The house was clean, the snow was cleared off of all the walkways, everything in the house was functional, and all the comforts of home were at our fingertips. We even cooked for the reception, and all the utensils, dishes, and glasses were there and easy to find. The house was easy to find and the location was great! We were able to access the resort and all the skiing and hiking trails easily. Thank you, Bill for all your help in making our special day everything we wanted it to be! I'll send you a photo soon!

A Home away from Home! This is a beautiful house that had plenty of space for my party of ten! The owner is great to work with and very accommodating. Every one's favorite part of our Girdwood weekend was THIS house! How can you beat a two car heated garage, private porch and huge hot tub!

We just spent 2 days and nights when our daughters and their husbands were home for Christmas, and we had a lovely, relaxing, GREAT time!! There was plenty of room for all 7 of us, and even though the weather suddenly warmed up and it started raining our 2nd day there, we got in one afternoon of skiing, 2 dogsled rides, a night at the Double Musky, and one relaxing night "at home" that included the hot tub. The "cabin" has everything anyone could possibly need and then some and is very spacious but at the same time cozy and comfortable. We'll definitely go back the next time we're all here together; one son-in-law, who was spending his 3rd Christmas with us, said this one was the BEST because of our stay at the Girdwood Suite Retreat!

My huusband and family enjoyed this place. It was like a home away from home. We used the house to do a small wedding and our guests were comfortable. It had 4 beautiful rooms and a loft with a bed to accommodate my family, the kitchen was fully furnished, so we didn't have to worry about bringing kitchen supplies and the living space inside was very spacious. The backyard deck was large enough to entertain and also had a hot tub and barbeque area. The big plus was the private cabin in the back that could sleep up to 5 guests, and it also had a mini kitchen inside which was awesome. I definitely recommend this house for weekend getaways and private events. Its a perfect place for your home base in Girdwood. I will definitely be coming back.

We recently stayed at the Girdwood Suite Retreat and found the house and surroundings to be very pleasant. Our son was married at the chapel at the Alyeska Resort. We had our immediate family staying in the house and it provided a great place to meet before and after the wedding. The house has been well-maintained and has everything you need in the way of bedding, towels and kitchen appliances, dishes, glasses, etc. We really felt comfortable in the house and would recommend it to others!

This house really met our expectations. The location is a nice walk to ski slopes, restaurants and stores. It is very well stock with all the cooking supplies and linens. We had a party of 10 and felt like we had plenty of room. The Masterbedroom is on the main floor with its own TV which provided a nice private escape. Love the hot tub! Bill, Thanks for the great Christmas Ski Vacation. We enjoyed your home and appreciate your hospitality.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Suite Retreat for ski weekend with our two kids. The home was immaculate. The beds were all very comfortable, the well stocked kitchen was spotless and the garage was an extra bonus as we got lots of snow over the weekend. There was plenty of space, we could have had another couple with us. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a long day of skiing. Girdwood is our favorite vacation spot in Alaska and we've found our favorite place to stay. We look forward to visiting the Suite Retreat again soon.

What a beautiful house and a big Thank You for sharing your place in Girdwood. Clean, modern, and very well equipped property close to lifts, shops, restaurants, bars, everything, yet secluded and enveloped in trees, as stated. The deck is a great bonus, clean hot tub, totally as described, even better. Plenty of room for kids and adults. The kitchen and master bath are very comfortable and lush, as are the upstairs bedrooms and bath, as well as some really neat decorative memorabilia. Our first choice when visiting Girdwood next time!

We stayed at the Suite Retreat while on our annual ski vacation to Alaska. . . Wow, we wouldn't have done it any other way! The house is located in a great place. A short walk to the chair lifts, a short walk to the restaurants, bars, and store. And a short walk to the Hotel Alyeska. The views from the property are amazing. Your are surrounded 360 degrees by towering mountains and deep blue glacial faces. Mt. Alyeska and its tram can be seen from the hot tub on the back deck. We found the owner Bill to be very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked. My wife and I enjoyed the master bed and bath, while the children had the entire second floor to themselves. The Girdwood Suite Retreat is one place you'll never want to leave.
