CREEKSIDE IS LOCATED ON A BEAUTIFUL THREE ACRE SETTING. (*SEE OUR GUESTS COMMENTS) The CREEKSIDE GUESTHOUSE interior is light, with open beamed ceilings and gorgeous views. The south edge of the property borders Virgin Creek, a natural habitat to ducks, egrets, deer, quail and other numerous wildlife. The west side of the house faces Virgin Creek Estuary leading out to the Pacific Ocean, offering lush and natural views from the floor to ceiling windows.
"CREEKSIDE", the larger house, separated by the large L shaped sunroom, is an adjoining 3 bedroom, 2 bath that can accommodate larger groups, and is now available. Please inquire for rates and vacancy. WE ONLY RENT ONE OR THE OTHER, TO INSURE OUR GUEST'S PRIVACY.
Venture out and explore the ocean-side "Old Haul Road" (a walking/jogging/bicycling road) just a short distance from the house and a nice walk. IT IS ONE OF THE LONGEST STRETCHES OF PUBLIC BEACHFRONT IN CALIFORNIA where you can explore the miles of flat, sandy beaches. The Old Haul Road heading north leads you through MacKerricher State Park, with wooden boardwalks guiding you to the ocean bluffs, allowing you the opportunity to watch Osprey, Pelicans, Harbor Seals and Sea Lions in the surf... and Whales as they make their migration to and from Mexico during the winter months. Heading South it will take you over the newly refurbished Pudding Creek Trestle directly into town.
IF YOU ENJOY FISHING, Cleone Lake at MacKerricher is stocked with trout and bass and there is a BBQ at the house awaiting your catch of the day! Or perhaps you'd prefer to buy your seafood at one of the local fresh seafood markets at Noyo Harbor. Build a fire, kick back and enjoy a cozy, sunset seafood dinner.
THE MENDOCINO COAST, WITH IT'S REMOTE NATURAL BEAUTY, has long been a vacation area where visitors come to escape the summer heat, take long walks along the beach, explore cyrstal-clear tide pools, dine at local Seafood Restaurants, browse through numerous Antique Stores, Galleries of Local Artisans, tour the lovely (47 acre) Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, unique in that it is the only oceanfront public garden in the U.S. and of course the historic Skunk Train ride through the surrounding majestic Redwoods.

Dear Jeanie & Duncan, Thank you so much for your warm and extremely generous hospitality. We absolutely loved Creekside. Thank you for the lovely bottle of wine and welcome note. (What a thoughtful touch). Also thank you for letting us bring our dog, we had so much fun with her. She really enjoyed the doggie bowl and treats you left for her, and thank you for the fresh eggs and green beans....we truly enjoyed them. AND the fire wood. We enjoyed relaxing by the cozy fire watching the storm pass through with your amazing views. One day we saw a huge Buck and a Deer. What a treat. We enjoyed the tour of the main house. You have a beautiful home. I loved the porthole on the front door. We would love to come back with our family. Overall we left feeling very spoiled. Thank you for you generosity. Driving Hwy 20 to Fort Bragg was beautiful. It reminded me of Hwy 84 to La Honda, my home town. When we arrived at Creekside, right away we felt at home. Creekside far exceeded our expectations. It is such a beautiful and special place. Creekside stands out among the rest because of all the attention to detail to provide all the comforts of home. Including a comfortable bed. I really enjoyed reading about the local history, and was really excited to see that you had posted a ocean tide table chart. Glass Beach was amazing. You truly thought of everything. I have never stayed anywhere where I felt more at home. I believe that it is because CREEKSIDE IS FAR MORE THAT JUST A VACATION RENTAL. Creekside is a home that is well cared for and loved by its homeowners. THAT IS WHAT MAKES CREEKSIDE A TRULY UNIQUE EXPERIENCE AND A SPECIAL PLACE. We loved Fort Bragg. I can see why my cousins moved there to retire. As we were driving home I told my husband that if we ever had to opportunity to relocate or retire one day, Fort Bragg would be top on my list. We loved Fort Bragg and all its beauty, and friendly local people. CREEKSIDE WAS ONE OF OUR BEST VACATIONS EVER. It was so peaceful and relaxing, and so wonderful to be so close to the ocean. AT NIGHT WE COULD HEAR THE WAVES CRASHING AS WE FELL ASLEEP. Thank you for providing an amazing vacation retreat and for sharing your special and charming home! WONDERFUL PLACE! It was just what we were looking for. Peaceful and relaxing. Great for family or just a couple looking for some rest and relaxation.The beach near the home seemed so private and natural...the kids saw starfish for the first time in their lives. Hi Jeanie, Thank you for AN AMAZING STAY AT CREEKSIDE! We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home and look forward to visiting again. It has been so wonderful to enjoy the many amenities offered here and being so close to the ocean and wildlife is more that we could have hoped for this vacation. We had a hard time leaving Creekside, but we hope to visit again soon. We still can't get over how lovely the house is and how nicely it's furnished! Our daughter and her friend enjoyed playing the piano during the visit, and Mark and I loved having the wonderful sound in the house. I grew up in Oregon on a farm, and Mark had some farm living experience as a kid off and on too. Creekside reminded us of our experiences, and it was such a treat to have plenty of space inside and out to move around. Anyway, we really appreciate your hospitality and one day we'd love to rent or own a home like Creekside.
