Our family enjoyed a great week in this unit. The condo itself is clean, tastefully decorated, and fully furnished with televisions in each bedroom and the living room. We can't get over how quiet our entire week was - we never heard a sound from any other units. The entrance is private, with a separate gate, and the building itself is on a quiet, dead end street. It is ideally located with shopping only minutes away. The entire grounds are clean, and staff are ever present and extremely helpful. The beach was AMAZING, with sand as white as snow and fine as sugar. The beach attendants were super friendly and helpful. The water is emerald green, and dolphins really ARE visible from the balcony! The entire experience was like one long Corona commercial. If you get tired of the beach for some reason, the pool area is super nice and clean as well. We had a blast going to Destin for a day of deep sea fishing, catching vermillion, grouper, red snapper, and triggerfish. Destin has a great shopping area in the Harborwalk, with various restaurants and bars. The Pensacola Naval Air Station features the National Naval Aviation Museum, which is a must see - particularly for ex-swabbies and former Tuefel Hunden! The Blue Angels also practice frequently there; this is free, and we were able to see these amazing pilots in action for one hour. Mostly, we enjoyed hanging out on the beach all day, then sitting on the balcony listening to the waves. I cannot think of a more relaxing, perfect spot for a vacation. Our kids loved it, and were so sad to leave at the end of our week. We will be re-booking for next year, as we have found a piece of heaven on earth.
Owner response:As fortune would have it, I just happen to be sitting on the balcony of this unit enjoying the view of the sand, and the sea, and the sky, and thinking how wonderful the day was, when Ann interrupted my study of the waves to read to me the review written by TraumaPA-C. How welcome his words were. His words fit so nicely with what we were seeing. It truly is like being in the "Corona commercial" where the people walk out on the beach, sit down in the beach chairs, and simply watch the waves come in; no words need to be said; there is no sound except for the waves and the gulls and the shifting in the chairs to make yourself as comfortable as you can be. The fact that there is a Corona sitting there, on a table, between them is secondary to the activity being enjoyed. There needs to be a warning here, for you would no longer mistake Ann and my bodies for the actors in the commercial; think more of the crowd at a Jimmy Buffett concert. Thanks to TraumaPA-C for putting into words what we have come to love about Oklaloosa Island. Its not fancy, its relaxed. Its not lavish, its comfortable. Its not loud, its peaceful. Nothing against lavish, fancy and loud; all of those can be found in the area. Once again thanks to TraumaPA-C for the kind words. It is amazing to this old soldier that a Tuefel Hunden can write. This unit is awesome. It is everything the description says it is. The owner is very nice and easy to work with. It is very clean and spacious. The view is incredible. Many mornings we could see dolphins from our balcony. The only drawback we could find was that there was not a lot to walk to. We like to be able to walk to restaurants, shops, etc. on our vacations, but you have to drive to get to everything. It is not enough of a drawback to keep us from coming back here again though. We hope to book this same unit next summer. Thanks Ann!
