This was our first time using VRBO to secure housing for a holiday. We were looking for accomodations in a nature setting and this house met our needs. The owner could not have been more accomodating in every aspect. The area is just lovely - very quiet yet close to town and attractions. We like to bicycle and walk daily and there are several trails close by. Our cat was included in this trip and the back screened in porch became her domain daily. Kitchen was well stocked with items. We have rebooked for 2012!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had a wonderful stay in Crystal River. What a great location!!! We like quiet and serenity and this place was made for that. We did lots of canoeing in the area, and snorkeling with the manatee and at the various springs in the area - but the highlight was always to come home and sit on that wonderful balcony overlooking the marsh. I loved sitting there with a book - or watching the sunrise. We saw an otter one day, and some dolphins paid a visit another day - plus the unending stream of birds. The road to the beach was quiet enough for frequent biking or running. In short, it was one of our most enjoyable vacations - we plan on getting in touch with you next year for another visit!
Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing.

The homeowner accurately represented the property and was very cordial in communication. I consider our week a bargain for the location and the fact that it was prime spring break. Now to the good stuff: We had a blast. Very relaxing week. Our bulldogs took a vacation with us and the house was pet friendly (as advertised). Our mini-bulldog Cooper patroled the deck while Belle napped endlessly. By day, we took in some spring training games and explored the small towns along the shoreline. We cooked out under the stars on the charcoal grill, including smores for dessert. On our last day, an eagle perched right on the dock post and fished in the river just below the screened in porch-we happened to be on the porch at the right time! Thanks Jane for sharing the house. My husband and I stayed here for six weeks while he was assigned to this area. The home is well kept, clean and well furnished. The location is private, yet with other homes in the area, and the setting is both beautiful and peaceful. We spent quite time on the porch soaking in the view and time exploring the parks, hiking and biking trails which are close by and canoeing some of the many rivers. This area has no shortage of wildlife. This place is wonderful!

We live 2 doors down from the rental unit and my son in law and family rented the house in March 2007 for a week. They enjoyed the house and it was a wonderful vacation. The children really liked the screened in porch and seeing the dolphins and otters every morning. Any one that loves nature or the water will love this rental unit.
