If you are going to Perugia, this is the place to stay. The house is spacious and well fitted out - everything you need for a fantastic holiday. It is close to the main area of the city but in a quiet location and there are restaurants, shops and supermarkets close by. The bus station and train for trips further afield are within easy reach. The owners are genuinely friendly and very knowledgeable about Perugia and the surrounding areas. When we go back to Perugia, we know where to stay. Grazie milleDid you find this review helpful? We stayed at Dimora La Sapienza from Sept 1st to Oct 11, 2010 and found it to be excellent with regards accommodation - lots of room and a great location. It was very clean and well maintained. We bought fresh croissants for our morning breakfast to eat with fresh fruit we had bought at the market the day before. For dinner we bought fresh pasta from Cristiano di Pecetti's store just around the corner at #3 Via C. Caporali - the best fresh pasta we found in Umbria. The kitchen worked well with lots of pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Main living room was large with lots of space and a great place to eat our freshly cooked meals. Master bedroom and bathroom again were large with lots of closet space and lots of hot water. View from the bedroom looks out over part of the towns roof tops. The location is quiet yet only a short 2 min walk to the main square where we bought some of the best deserts at Sandri's. We enjoyed many walks around the town and spectacular views to the west from the park. The owners were very helpful and provided a welcoming basket of goodies plus there is a good library of useful books and maps on the town and area. We found eating out expensive in Italy and since we enjoy cooking and like shopping in local markets for fresh fruit and vegetables this property had it all. Overall an excellent vacation home in a old yet lively town on a Umbrian hilltop. We had a car and after dropping our luggage off at the property we parked in the Piazza Partigiani Parking for E150 for our 11 day stay - you have to buy the long term tourist pass from the cashier when you first park in the parkade as it is cheaper than the normal rate. A GPS is extremely helpful if driving around Perugia.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

Excellent! We had a wonderful time at Dimora La Sapienza 1. It was a roomy, comfortable apartment/house that had everything we needed and the location was fantastic. Caterina and Nicola were gracious and helpful, providing information about Perugia and the surrounding towns. The apartment was a beautiful haven and I highly recommend it to anyone. I had the pleasure of staying here for three weeks in March/April 2008. It was truly a home away from home. The location was fabulous. It was a very short walk to the center of Perugia, stores, sightseeing etc. The villa was roomy, unique, comfortable. The owners went out of their way to welcome me. They had a care basket for me on my arrival with some food, coffee, water and snacks to help make the first day easier. They had many brochures, maps and tourist information regarding not just Perugia but other areas of Umbria, along with information about stores, restaurants etc. They are nearby and available if there are any questions or concerns. The villa has everything you might need....a washing machine, iron, blow dryer, full kitchen with every utensil/cookware you might need. The master bedroom is comfortable and has lots of closet space. I can't say enough good things about this villa or the owners who were truly helpful, kind and caring. It was hard leaving! I had a friend who came to Italy for my last three nights in Perugia and she also was impressed with "our house". I will definately be back!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This is a very comfortable house, but it is multi level and this is something to consider. In the warm season it would be great as the lower level is a stone arched lovely living area that would always be cool. It is about 100 yards from the main square of Perugia. That was a bonus for us as we could leave the car at home and walk the city or go for a coffee or dinner at the drop of a hat. The heating cost, as we were there in March, was expensive. I would highly recommend this house April to October. The owners are charming and very helpful. The property is clean and well maintained.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.
