Great location in the Black Hills

We stayed in this cabin with another family on Labor Day weekend. There were four adults and three teen girls. We loved the location, very central to everything. As we drove up to the cabin our first evening, the yard was full of deer! The cabin looked just like the photos and was clean. The living room was large and light filled. It could use a bit more seating as the couches only held five people while the cabin sleeps many more. The bedrooms were nice and the beds were comfy. If you need the room dark for sleeping, you might consider bringing something to cover the windows as the blinds let light in at daybreak. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of soap for the dishwasher and laundry facilities. Thang, the owner, was great to work with. He responded quickly and came right over when we needed him during our stay. I would stay here again and recommend this cabin to others. We enjoyed the hot tub and the outdoor fire pit for making s'mores. The owner even provided firewood (but bring your own matches). Being right on the bike path was a plus. We did a lovely hike in Spearfish Canyon called the Devil's Bathtub....this was the highlight of our trip!

Nice place for 2 families

We were 2 families that rented Cabin C for 4 nights and had a good time. We were 4 adults and 3 teenagers There are 3 rooms with queen beds and the upstairs loft had 2 queen beds. The bedrooms all had mini blinds that were not really functional they do not keep out light unless you tape black plastic trash bags to them. The loft is OK but there is no way to keep out the light from the floor below and you can hear everything from downstairs, so if the adults are talking downstairs with the lights on the kids upstairs could not sleep just keep that in mind. The hot tub was nice and we toasted marshmallows in the fire pit across the field from the cabin. Bring your own matches and flashlights.The dinning room table sat all of us comfortably, lots of dishes, not a lot of knives but tons of forks. Bring your own shampoo, bar soap, and hairdryer as they do not have them. No beach towels for the hot tub either. Most of us brought our own pillows which I would recommend if you can. The cabin was clean. The location was nice you could get to all the attractions like MT Rushmore, Deadwood, Rapid City, Custer, and Spearfish from 30-60 minutes away. It was quiet except for the owners dogs barking at times in the evenings. A nice bike trail so bring your bikes.

family reunion from Yankton, Sioux Falls and central Nebraska

We just got back from our 3rd annual reunion in the Black Hills. Mountain Meadow cabin C was the perfect location for us. 4 50+ siblings, spouses and our parents loved having the bike trail at the end of the driveway....easy to get off and on the trails. We would suggest buying the annual pass for the trail so you don't have to drive to a trailhead to buy a pass everyday. Had a great time at our favorite watering hole, Slate creek Grille at the bottom of Deerfield Road, even sang karoke there Friday night! We biked, played golf, fished and went sightseeing all day, then enjoyed grilling our meal, the hot tub and a campfire in the evenings. We stayed in the Deadwood area the past 2 years, and this is our favorite location because of the proximity to everything we want to see and do. We will be back next year!

Great Location For a Family Gathering!

Our family spent 4 nights at your cabin and had a great time. The cabin was clean, spacious and provided very comfortable accommodations for 10 people. The kitchen had all major appliances and came fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you need. Location was excellent- just a short drive to all the major attractions. The property was well maintained and each unit had it's own large yard and patio to enjoy outdoor activities,barbeque, etc. Would highly recommend to others looking for a nice family getaway spot that offers some privacy. We hope to visit again!!

Great vacation home

Our family stayed at Mt. Medadow Cabins for five days for a family reunion. We had a group of 10 staying with us and appreciated the spacious and clean cabin to stay in. The location is great, close to all of the area attractions. The cabin came well equiped with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. We rate this very high on places to stay and would recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the Black Hills. There was plenty of parking which was great since we came in 4 vehicles. The front yard and deck were spacious and had plenty of room to play lawn games. The hot tub was quite private, our teenage boys had a blast. The owner was very helpful. He answered all our questions and made our stay pleasant.

We stayed hear in Sept 2008 and really enjoyed our stay.The cabin was warm and inviting. We enjoyed the hot tub and it was neat to wake up to the views of wildlife just outside the windows. Close to all the popular attractions. 1800 Black Hills Train, Bear Country, Mt. Rushmore, The Needles, Sylvan Lake, Crazy Horse, The Badlands, just so much to see and not far away. We enjoyed the local Alpine Inn that we had read about prior and were not disappointed-limited menu but food was fantastic. Would definately recommend this location to others.

Didn't get what we paid for

We thought we were getting the house pictured on the internet but when we arrived we found out they had rented us a smaller property next to the house pictured. The house was fine but not for the price they charged us. The house we received was smaller but the price was unchanged. The location was nice, but no place to have an outdoor fire. Upon arrival, the floors had not been cleaned or vacuumed. There were crayon wrappers and dead bugs on the floor. The website stated they provided beach towels and there were none at the house. The towels were old and worn. The window treatments were minimal/broken so there was no way we could have slept in if we wanted to. There were no games/activities in the house. We felt as though the homeowners pulled a fast one on us.

Recommended for:Sightseeing.

Mountain meadow cabins are great!

My husband and I just spent a wonderful week at this beautiful cabin. The views are spectacular...the owners friendly...the cabin is very well appointed with every convenience possible. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the abundance of wild game - deer especially. We will be back next year and hopefully stay two weeks. Larry and Jacquie, Alabama

I slept on the loft, and my family (of 4) slept downstairs. You should, even if it jurts us charge more. I Love It! (M.P. 13yr. old Chicago, IL.) The beds were very comfy and the loft was fun! It was so nice to have a private location for all 14 of us to hang out together, especially when it was raining. The hot tub was a wonderful addition to our stay. The cabins are just beautiful and the floor plans where very well thought out for our childrens families to use. The cabins were spacious and more beautiful than we expected. We made good use of everything and just enjoyed cooking and relaxing together. The deer came right down to the meadow every morning and my grandchildren enjoyed our walks together. When we can get everybody together we will definitely come here again. Or maybe hubby and I will just sneak off here for our own little stay. Thank you for the memories. June Stewart
