The house provides guests a welcoming retreat from the bustle of life. Though secluded, the cottage is just a 4 mile drive or bike ride around the head of Bristol Harbor from Bristol's historic town center.
The town of Bristol, settled in 1680 around a deep-water harbor, features several historic sites, a charming town center and a variety of restaurant choices. Conveniently located roughly half-way between Providence and Newport, Bristol provides an excellent jumping-off point for exploring this corner of New England.
The scenic 14 mile East Bay bike path is just a short ride away. Located on a former train right-of-way, it provides both the enthusiast and the beginner a fun adventure as it winds through towns, across bridges, into woods and along the bay. Bikes can be rented in Bristol or nearby Warren, RI. Narragansett Bay is boaters mecca. Sail, kayak or motor around its many inlets and islands. Rent your own boat or take an excursion. With several runs a-day, the ferry out Bristol provides an easy way to see the bay and explore Prudence Island for the day.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the "Mushroom". It was secluded and quiet with spectacular views of the bay. The house is a charming beach house with an old world feel. Although the town of Bristol is not far away, we never left the Point during our stay. It felt like a true get away. We walked on the beach, found shells and sea glass, watched the boats go by, and sat in front of the bay to see the beautiful sunsets. It was truly a special spot. My kids and whole family loved it! There is plenty of room for a large family or 2 families. We would like to return next year for a longer stay.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.
