These cottages are located on the shore of the Peace River and on over an acre of property. There are several thousand acres of hiking trails and many miles of protected waterways for you to explore either by canoe or kayak, motorboat, or on land by bicycle or on foot.
The area is full of history from the time the Woolly Mammoth roamed the area to the pioneers, explorers, and Indians. In the 1800s the paddlewheel boats transported passengers, supplies, and workers to settlements along the river. The Seminole wars used the river as the dividing line and referred to it as the "Rio De La Paz," the Peace River!
Within walking distance is the world famous Nav-A-Gator Grill and Marina, home of the super grouper sandwich and gator tail, and also offering other fare such as burgers and steaks, too.
There is much wildlife to see such as nesting birds like eagles, osprey, hawks, woodstork, and more. Animals observed are bobcat, panther, otters, gators, turtles, and a multitude of others for your pleasure.
Fishing ranges from freshwater bass, crappie, bluegill, chain pickerel, and more as well as saltwater fish like trout, snapper, snook, redfish, and tarpon, these are all a lot of fun on light tackle or flyrods!
This area is for people that enjoy nature and getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This is the area that you let your inner self dream and mind wander to the days of old. The days of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer and cruising on the river, sitting under a shade tree eating an apple, or hearing the fish splash as they feed in the early morning mist!
There is something for everyone here at the Nav-A-Gator! We offer some of the most comfortable lumpy beds, leaking roofs, indoor plumbing, cool air in winter, heat in summer, and a fridge that needs defrosting. The world news is brought to you through the state-of-the-art transistor radio! Most of the boats for your use on the river do not leak much, and the canoes and kayaks are labeled as to which side is to be kept upright!
This is OLD FLORIDA, where a game of horseshoes is neighborhood entertainment and a get-together with friends reveals the days best fishin' spots. You may come here a visitor, but you will leave as a friend! This area is the place where memories are made and relived. WHERE THE ROAD ENDS-THE ADVENTURE BEGINS.
