Architect-remodeled and designer-furnished in 2001, it is 45m2 (approx. 500 sq.ft.), with rustic red-tile (tommette) floors, unlimited hot water, recent wiring, individual heat, and electrical systems. It’s equipped with everything needed for long term occupancy in Paris.
Unlimited wireless high speed Internet is available via the TV cable at no charge. Telephone line with voice mail allows unlimited calling (charges paid according to actual usage). Thoughtful touches: hairdryer, phones in living room and bed room, iron, ironing board, extra lamps, electric fan.
Writer’s English-speaking friend meets you at apartment on arrival with bottle of wine, food for breakfast, bouquet of flowers. We also can have a driver meet you at train or airport (fee).
In living room, classic Italian ultra-suede couch discreetly holds hide-a-bed (120cm. or 47 inches wide) for an occasional guest. Handsome teak table unfolds to seat 6 for dinner parties. Supply of classical and jazz CDs, shelves full of English and French books, including tourist and restaurant guides. Other decorating touches: antique mirror with candleabras, hand-woven oriental carpet, matching coffee table and end tables, painted wood side table.
1930's style leather and wood armchair makes a comfortable reading spot. Lighting includes 2 large table lamps and a standing halogen lamp on a rheostat. Soft, warm-toned draperies frame east-facing floor-to-ceiling window which looks out to wide-open sky and the length of tiny rue Lobineau.
Modern eat-in kitchen is fully built-in, with Italian ceramic tiles, mid-size refrigerator, many wood cabinets, a large cupboard with antique wooden door, antique table and 4 bistro-style chairs. Provencal tablecloth, place mats, matching napkins and small table lamp complete decor. Floor-to ceiling window with designer shades looks out at splendid sunrises over the Saint-Germain Market to the east. Full cooking equipment and table service for 6.
Cozy bedroom is fully carpeted in sisal with oriental throw rug. Double (translucent and opaque) draperies frame west-facing courtyard window. A wall of paneled wooden doors hides abundant closets. Extremely comfortable firm queen-size bed is 160 cm. or 62 inches wide. Cushioned rattan armchair with a swing arm standing lamp makes another comfortable reading spot. Two bedside tables have lamps, seconded by adjustable wall-mounted reading lamps above 1930's inlaid wood headboard. Large 1930's style mirror completes decor.
Modern bath is elegant and spacious, with large closet that has linens, towels, and lots of room for your things. Italian tiles and wood trim surround tub and vanity areas. Sheets and towels are all cotton. Large window with translucent curtains looks north to courtyard. Full-size tub has wall-mounted and hand-held shower (and American-style shower curtain). 3-way mirrors, halogen make-up lights above vanity area. Washing machine also dries your clothes.
W.C., which is separate from the bathroom, has a mirror and small washbasin.
