What a lovely home and awesome views. This home was perfect for our sister reunion, the floor plan allowed us plenty of space. The home was well maintained and the location was easy to find. The area around the home was lush and green and the ocean was more then we expected. I would diffentely recommend this home to friends and family and hope to return with ours in the near future.

Our family, including two small grandchildren, loved your home. The location, views, pool, space, and lovely rooms all made for a perfect vacation. We loved the fact that we could walk (or run) to so many places including the beach, pool or a drink at the Grand Hyatt at sunset. The views from the deck will not be forgotten. Perfect home for families wanting to relax and take in what Kauai has to offer. House had all amenities you possibly would need and more space to spread out in. Everyone could have privacy along with large open spaces for the entire group to get together and enjoy. Loved the fact you could see the ocean where the whales were playing and also look out at the mountains. Thanks for making our trip a success.

Thank you Ning for sharing your wonderful home. We had a Christmas and New years family reunion we will never forget.We were 6 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room and privacy for all. Everything you could possibly need was provided for, from two washers and dryers to boogie boards,beach towels ,a well stocked kitchen and a beautiful view. The Bird of Paradise rental property was as it was described and more in person. When deciding on this rental, The owner was readily available and most friendly. It is apparent that the owner and her family take pride in their properties. Although a little dated, the property is set so that it has spectacular views from three sides of the front and sitting areas that allow you to take it all in. It's also located close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. A car is recommended though. I loved "all" of the beaches so much that we kept beach chairs and towels in the trunk of the car. The treat however was finding local "grind" at the fish market(s). Don't be afraid to ask someone where to find "real" Hawaiian experiences. I would certainly recommend this rental to anyone.

The Bird of Paradise rental home was as it was listed and even more spectacular in person. When deciding on this rental, the owner, Ning, was very friendly and was readily available when I had questions. It was apparent that Ning and her family take pride in their properties and in making renters feel comfortable. Although a little dated, the home was clean and well equipped. It's located close to all of the activities, restaurants and shopping centers. I really liked the journals that are being kept. They give a "real" spin on what to do while on the island. We loved the close proximities of the beaches (we kept beach chairs and towels in the car) and the local food "plates" that we finally found at the fish market(s). I would certainly recommend this property to anyone. It's a home away from home!

The Bird of Paradise Home was perfect for my husband and myself plus our growing family (total of six adults and one baby There is plenty of room for individuals to maintain space and privacy as well as gather together. The location is ideal for beaches as well as other island activities. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly want or need. The lanai is a heavenly setting for an outdoor massage. The wireless Internet, TV, and I-Pod docking station are all there if you need a break from nature. Ning has done a superior job of gathering useful information and making it available to her guests. She has taken exceptional care to anticipate her guests' needs and questions, and she went the extra mile to recognize and accommodate needs specific to our group. If you are looking for this type of accommodation for your Kauai vacation, we highly recommend the Bird of Paradise Home. You won't want to leave!

Aloha Ning,Our family can honestly say...we have found the Bird of Paradise home and Poipu Kauai a piece of Heaven on Earth. Every 14 days of our stay was delightful. The home was so comfortable with everything set up for us. We loved the beach things surely the boogie boards and beach chairs. We barbequed most nights and fully enjoyed the large patio which we all had our morning coffee and had most of our meals together in the evenings. This was a perfect vacation home. FABULOUS! Bird of Paradise home was just what we needed for a home away from home. Ning, you were truly wonderful with your emails to get us all set up! The gorgeous home was spacious. The wrap-around lanai was perfect. The comfy couches and beds were so inviting. Cooking dinner in this kitchen was such fun! We were close to walk to Shipwreck Beach by the Hyatt, and Poipu Beach for body surfing. The view was to die for! Seeing the palm trees waving and the Kauai mountains from our lanai was a bit of PARADISE. From the moment we walked up the stairs, the home was inviting. The extra bedroom suite off the lanai was private and fabulous. WE THANK YOU, Ning, for the great week at B.O.P. We'll be back!!

We loved staying in the Bird of Paradise house. It was perfect for our family. The main room is spacious and has different seating areas, so the family was together, but you could still do your own thing. The house is in a great location between two very different beaches, which is a great advantage. The house is also stocked with all the cooking supplies and beach gear you will need.

We arrived late and it was pouring rain. We had sandwiches and went to bed. The next day I awoke about 5:30 and ran out to the front window to see the view. I saw my daughter in law with my granddaughter inthe front yard looking at all the beautiful flowers. What an amazing view!! We couldn't have picked a more appropriate dwelling. This was an amazing vacation from the very start. Even before we left I was able to speak with Ning about the home and the area. She had some great suggestions about different activities and restaurants. The home was fantastic. It was way more room than we needed. The highlight of the home for us was the wrap-around lanai. I was nice to just sit outside and relax in the bright sun and refreshing trade winds. The amenities in the home were also outstanding. We especially enjoyed all the beach gear and the wireless internet service, both of which we were not expecting. The location was perfect. It was a short 5 min walk to Shipwreck Beach and the Hyatt hotel. The pool and tennis courts that are a part of the resort community were also very close. Poipu Beach is also within walking distance, but a bit further (we often took the rental car there). There are also many restaurants in the area. Renting a car in Kauai is a must if you want to see the whole island, and the Bird of Paradise home was a perfect "home base" for our vacation. It was close to many of the thing we wanted to see and do and the Poipu area was just beautiful. Kauai Must Do: - Helicopter tour of the island. - Day at Poipu Beach. - Drive up to Waimea Cannon. - Hike the first 2 miles of the Kalalau Trail. (this can be strenuous) This was by far the best vacation we have taken. Kauai, Poipu, and the Bird of Paradise home offer everything from stunningly beautiful adventures to serene relaxation. Whatever your ideal vacation is you will find it here. Thank you Ning for a trip we will never forget!

Beautiful Bird of Paradise! We have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Kauai. We found "Bird of Paradise" by going to vacation home rentals available in Poipu and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The house is beautiful. Well stocked, complete with beach towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards and beach chairs. The laundry room was great for the 8 of us as it is equipped with 2 washers and 2 dryers. The kitchen was well equipped as well, complete with lots of pots and pans, dishes, cutlery and even a waffle iron. (makes excellent waffles :) The bedrooms were cozy, lots of closet space. The suite away from the main house was great! My daughter and grandaughter stayed there and they had there own entrance, frige,microwave and t.v. Nice and private for earlier bedtimes. Ning Gulari was awesome at communicating months before our trip. She always returned e-mails promptly. We were also happy with our security deposit refund. Received it via pay-pal before our bags were unpacked. The home is spacious, clean and is in an excellent neighbourhood. Close to beaches, pool and even a small shopping mall. We treated it like we would our own home and would not hesitate to recommend it anyone. For anyone lucky enough to be heading to Kauai with a larger group this is a great home to stay in. The Bird of Paradise home was a great place to stay and I would stay again without hesitation. We had a group of 6 (three couples) and we were all very pleased with the home when we arrived. ALOHA, We had a fabulous time in KAUAI and especially staying at the Bird of Paradise Home. We had been planning this family reunion vacation for 2 years, and with Ning's help, things went very smoothly. My 3 yr old niece couldn't stop talking about 'THE BIG HOUSE" she just loved it! We felt at home and comfortable, everything was available and felt just like a home away from home. We had 3 families coming from different cities/countries and Ning was able to communicate and accommodate all of our needs! I truly appreciate it! I recommend it to anyone and everyone! Kauai was the best vacation/ birthday celebration I have ever had, and look forward to coming back!

Ning, I want to thank you for the courtesies you have shown me in the last ten months and to let you know what a grand stay we had in your beautiful home. Our group consisted of four couples. The home was ideal for our purposes, affording all sufficient privacy when wanted, but yet the "common area" accommodated all very comfortably. The lanai was terrific for breakfasts and the dinners we ate "in" with a spectacular mountain view. Kauai is certainly a special place, probably the most beautiful of the islands. Once again, Mahalo, we hope to put together another group in two or three years and we would like to arrange a rental at that time.

The weather was rainy and windy, but our stay at Bird of Paradise was our best visit to Kaua'i yet. The house is spacious and Ning is a great landlord. She left so many nice things for us. It was great to have the bungalow for one set of our adult children and the other slept downstairs. We all had togetherness and then privacy as well. The laundry room in the garage is very convenient and the living room is great for hanging out. We watched a full day of bowl games on 1/1/08 and we didn't mind the weather because the room was so comfortable for TV, puzzles and games. You won't find a nicer house or one with a nicer landlord.

Great place for the price, size, and location. We had a great family vacation at this home. It was spacious and the kitchen had all the utensils to make it functional for kids meals and family dinners. It is a longer walk to the beach than we thought. We spent alot of time watching the sunrise and sunset on the patio. The house was clean and the beds were made. The lower basement rooms are the best place for the kids. The master suites are large enough for play pen by the bedside. We needed the water heater reset for some reason, and the resort maintenance responded quickly. The price was affordable for our large family to vacation at Kauai together. A few minor nuisances was the bird droppings on the patio rails and rusted beach chairs. The movie selection was sparse so bring your own.

Your home is just that a HOME. We felt so comfortable in it. Even with ten people we did not feel crowded at all. The view overlooking everything was great! And once we understood the beltways - you could really get around to everything we needed. Thank-you! for making our first family vacation an experience we will want to do again soon. The whole experience of renting this house was so refreshing. The owners make this such a simple process and provide everything you need, not to mention, the house is absolutely amazing. While the pictures and description of Bird of Paradise seemed very inviting and beautiful, I was not quite expecting the breathtaking views from the spacious and airy living room of this home. It was the perfect place to pray, meditate, gather one's thoughts and contemplate. The layout of the home flows and it is quite spacious, equipped with everthing a person or persons might need to be comfortable. There is really no need to go to any four star restaurants, as the dining accomodations also showcase a spectacular view of the mountains. The gourmet kitchen and a trip to the local farmer's market could inspire any number of culinary adventures. The cozy bungalow off to the right of the house is simply charming and provides the feeling of being in another time and place. It is conveniently located by the wonderful Poipu and Shipwreck beaches which beckoned me to rise early and experience indescribable sunrises (a mere 5-10 minute walk away). It was truly a gift to have the privacy and beauty of this magnificent home to ourselves. We left restored and rejuvenated! Thank you!

Our stay in Kauai was awesome and staying at the Bird of Paradise Home made it even better! The home was more than accomdating for our group of 8. The lovely home was extremely clean and stocked with all we needed. Having the local soaps & lotions was a nice touch! Our 19 year olds & guys liked the basket of used sunscreens..We only brought 30+ and they wanted 15-. The kitchen had enough pots & pans to handle cooking for our big eaters. We made two trips to Cost Co! It did take us a day to locate the correct swimming pool and the 19 year olds (boys) were told they could not swim at the Hyatt :). They discovered the locals hang out at the beach in front of the Sheraton so of course they forgot all about the Hyatt! The location of the home was very convenient for walking to the beach, pool, shopping, restaurants and of course beautiful hiking trails. We highly recommend ATV riding with Kipu Ranch Adventures and Zip lining with Princeville Adventures. You have to eat at Dukes and Keokee's, plus you can't leave the Island without at least one Puka Dog. The Lu'au at the Hyatt was fantastic. And last but not least, I think between all of us we tried every flavor and combination of Shaved Ice (get the ice cream on the bottom). All of us want to come back! My wife and I have been to Kauai in the past and have loved it. After staying in your home it made the experience that much better! The photos online just don't do the home justice. We brought my parents with us for vacation and they were sorry to leave the view behind, my mom almostcried while we were packing. We plan on staying again next year! Thanks Again! The Tobin Family

Ning, We absolutely LOVED YOUR HOME! It is beautifully furnished and includes everything anyone could possibly want or need! Thank you! We were all very comfortable--all 8 of us--and wished we could stay on for the balance of the month! I am encouraging everyone I talk with to visit Kauai and stay in your beautiful home--It is just wonderful! I enjoyed speaking with your husband on Monday--and also called Kay Oldham. I was delighted to hear that she gives visitors' unopened food to the food bank and other food stuffs to her neighbors in need...because we left a lot of food! As much as we loved your home, we were gone most of every day enjoying the island. Your home is a treasure which I have recommended to my friends already and also sent your link to them and to my travel agency, telling them to recommend it.

Aloha, This was the best house we ever rented and it is our third house in Hawaii. We considerd calling you to see if we could rent the house again next year but our daugter in new york will have a new baby. Next xmas may be in Arizona. We will be on your island again in Feb 08 for a meeting. I am trying to get you more tenants but people find the trip daunting. We wish your family a healthy new year

Aloha Ning: Thank you so much for the visit in your home. Our stay could not have been nicer. The Play and Pac was the perfect little bed for our 15 month old granddaughter and the king size bed worked well for their whole family when the little ones needed to be near mom and dad. I so appreciate the crock pot as we were able to start a meal in the morning and have dinner ready to eat when we arrived home after a day of fun. The weather cooperated with only 1 or two little showers during the day that passed very quickly. I apologize for not e-mailing you immediately on our return but the bustle of the holidays was upon us on our return. Again, we cannot have imagined a nicer vacation spot for our whole family. We will be recommending your home to anyone who asks. We have already told a relative, Robyn and Tom Miller of the Seattle area and are forwarding the information to them. Aloha Ning! What a fabulous time we had in your home for our 10 day family vacation. We had a total of 9 people which included 5 adults and 4 children ages 13, 11 1/2, almost 5 and a 3 year old. There was plenty of room and no one felt like we were crammed at all. Kitchen had all the dishes, pot and pans that we needed and more! Could have used a few more dish towels though but I just ran to KMart and bought a couple and left them there for others! Living room was full of room and even had some movies to choose from. We had brought some from home and accidentally left one there Ice Age the Meltdown so enjoy if you ever rent this place and had children and need a kid movie! Views from around the house was so refreshing and hearing the birds in the am was so much fun! There is basically nothing bad to say about this home. Great location, plenty of room and nice to have access to beach chairs, mat, etc. etc. The extra room made it feel like a whole other apartment so everyone had ample room and room to spare. We definately would rate this home a 10 plus, and will recommend it to friends and would use it again if the opportunity came up. Thanks again Ning for everything you have a wonderful home and I hope all renters keep it that way and enjoy it has much as our family did. Mahalo - Samantha and family

You have such a lovely home & we loved staying at your house. It was comfortable the entire time, lovely view, and close distant to good restaurants and beaches. We came during a great week -most of the time it was sunny -but even though it rained sometimes -we still had a great time in your wonderful home. It felt like home. Aloha dear Ning, I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful our stay is here at your home. We have been incredibly lucky with the weather....and everything else involved with our trip so far. I want to especially thank you for having Kay and Bill close by. They are helpful and warm and inviting and have patience for any and all of our questions and requests.....we appreciate them believe me. My family relished the time spent together in Kauai and your spacious home set the tone for a very relaxing and enjoyable time. My mother did well and since you asked about how the configuration of the house worked for her, I will say that the fact that you had a full hand rail for the stairs and a half-bath on the living room level made it much easier and safer for her. It was especially nice that there were many "conversation areas" in the living room area where one could read, check their email, or doze off even and not feel like you were away from the group. We will be happy to recommend your home to people who will be vacationing in Kauai. It was very conveniently located; I loved the lanai; and you had a surplus of drinking glasses for our thirsty group of seven (my family still can't keep track of their own glass and always look for a clean one!). We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and BBQ that allowed us to have some meals there in a more relaxed and informal atmosphere. Mahalo, Irene
