'Clean, well-appointed and affordable! We wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else.'
Located at 6000 foot level, our mountain home is located high in the Valley in Pine Mountain Club - a close destination with a far-away feel. And because there are no stop lights or street lights, no smog or traffic, you'll feel miles away from city life here. Pine Mountain Club has a true four-season mountain climate and is a perfect year-round destination for a getaway! (Check link for more photos of our home; additional photos are always available upon request!)
Located on a beautiful & very QUIET street (off the beaten path of main streets like Woodland Dr), yet just 2 minutes from the Village / clubhouse, our home is two-story, has an lovely open floor plan with knotty pine high-vaulted ceilings in the great room, sleeps UP TO four (4) w/ two bedrooms (2 new queen beds), two baths (one w/ a large walk-in shower), and is designed for one or two couples, but will also accommodate a small family. (Sorry, we cannot accommodate more than four (4) occupants at any time.) With a great southern exposure, our home is considered 'semi-solar'. Modern (built 12/2002), our home is beautifully decorated with mountain comforts (no 'hand-me-down' furniture here!), upscale amenities (we have an incredible 550+ movie collection & Wi-Fi, we offer popcorn, hot chocolate & herbal teas, plus much, much more), our home is exceptionally clean & comfortable (1150 square ft) with wonderful, unobstructed mountain views. Our deck, which faces south, is great for stargazing; the sunsets / night-sky are spectacular from our deck and will put on quite a show! We back to the Los Padres National Forest - wildlife (deer, raccoon, bobcat, mountain lion, bear, fox, bunnies, squirrels, quail, dove, stellar & scrub jays) abounds. And when there's SNOW, the hillside behind our home is perfect for sledding! Mt. Pino's (8300'-8800') is just 15-20 minutes away, and as the locals know, is a GREAT cross-country skiing and snow-play destination!
We have a BOSE Stereo System (which offers EXCEPTIONAL sound) - so, bring your CD's! We also have cable TV in the great room & each bedroom. There's a nice glass-top patio table w/four chairs on the deck, along with a relaxing hammock, two large market umbrella's & binoculars for your use and enjoyment. There's also a Weber grill & grill utensils; please bring charcoal & lighter fluid.
NOTE: Due to our elevation (6000 ft) on the Mountain, SNOW may be present during cooler months. Our roads are well-maintained, but area CHP require that you carry chains or have a 4x4 vehicle when snow is possible. Please check the 'Total Escape' link below, then the 'Property Association' link for detailed PMC weather information.
If a close, relaxing, year-round getaway is what you seek, and you appreciate a clean, classy, upscale home, we welcome you. Wonderful stay, spotless and welcoming!
Wonderful stay, spotless and welcoming!
Thank you for sharing your home with us, it's the cleanest vacation rental we've stayed at. It really felt like home. We enjoyed feeding the blue jays and watching the hummingbirds. We saw deer while walking around the neighborhood as well. We appreciated the helpfulness and responsiveness of the communication and the list of items at the cabin.

Wonderful cabin!Guest comment entered by owner
We just wanted to say thank you for opening your wonderful cabin to us this past weekend. We felt so comfortable there and everything we could possibly need or want was already there......including a bottle of wine! I spent many wonderful days over the last 45 years or more at my aunt and uncle's cabin in Wrightwood and the little town of Pine Mountain reminds me so much of that. Kevin and I really enjoyed just relaxing, doing a puzzle, reading and a little bit of hiking. I know we will be back again!

Perfect!Guest comment entered by owner
First, can I say how refreshing it is that the cabin isn't patched together from leftover furniture? Definitely a step up! My compliments to the decorator also! My autistic 16 year old daughter is in a group home in Bakersfield - I'm from Walnut Creek - so we needed some place closer for a girls weekend. We walked, watched videos, and she enjoyed stacking your magazines over and over ... and over! So quiet, she actually slept more than the usual 4 hours. What more could I ask for?! Perfect!!!

Lovely and tasteful mountain retreat!Guest comment entered by owner
Lovely and tasteful mountain retreat!
We needed this!!! Thank you for the use of your lovely and tasteful mountain retreat -- we loved -- we RELISHED every moment. We hiked, looked at PMC, saw deer, bobcats, Jays, woodpeckers and the backs of our eyelids --- we rested. Thank you for the tip about the Jays and for the peanuts. I bet we took over 100 photos (my husband says more!). We may not tell our friends, but we will certainly return!!!

Lovely refuge!Guest comment entered by owner
Overstressed, overworked and over the SF Valley heatwave, I escaped to this lovely refuge! I have become the Blue Jay's BFF -- all males and one female out here -- can't say the same for those odds in L.A. :) ... I was able to get video of a doe and her two fawns in your yard, and hummingbirds are hungry, too. Days were sunny, perfect for deck reading and rays and the nights, cool and pleasant with nothing but wood sounds under a blanket of stars. I will be back for sure! Thanks for sharing your home.

About the owner: As a general contractor with an eye for design and a human resources director who enjoys cooking, interior decorating, photography, hiking and crocheting, we reside in Ventura. Our mountain home is very special to us and we escape to it often and find the location ideal (just an hour and a half away). Attention to detail is number one with us and we pride ourselves in offering a very clean, upscale, peaceful, Zen-like option for your mountain getaway.
Why the Owner Chose Pine Mountain Club:
We truly love the Mountains! After considering Mammoth Lakes, Big Bear, along with other mountain areas, we found our home in Pine Mountain Club. It's so close -- we absolutely love it! Built in December 2002, our home faces south and is considered 'semi-solar' - a hidden jewel with its' unobstructed mountain views -- the sunsets from our deck are truly amazing; the night sky will put on quite a show! We offer upscale amenities, including Wi-Fi, phones and cable/TV in each room, along with lots of extras! Leave your cares at the door and enjoy the upscale comforts our mountain home provides.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our home is located on a VERY quiet street, and we love its location on the Mountain. The quaint Village offers dining and shopping, and has a 'long-ago' feel. Safe, friendly and peaceful! The golf course is beautiful, and the community pool - refreshing! And, as avid hikers and mountain bikers, we enjoy the many local trails. Back at our mountain home, we enjoy hand-feeding the jays (peanuts provided!); the night sky is always welcoming, giving us time to relax, breathe, and reflect. And our very favorite ... watching the sunsets. They truly are amazing!! You won't believe a place like this exists so close! This truly is the perfect couple's getaway!
