    My husband and I stayed here at Hawk's View on St. Thomas for one week for our anniversary. We had a great time. The apartment has all the comforts and conveniences of home, which is great since you can eat some meals at home and not have to eat out all the time. The view is breathtaking. There are several beaches nearby and shopping is minutes away. The hosts are very friendly and helpful but don't intrude or watch over you. The rates are reasonable compared to other accommodations. I think it is the best value on the island. If you've never been to St. Thomas, prepare to drive on the opposite side of the road, and the mountain roads are steep with sharp turns (but no real drop off cliffs or anything like that). We recommend that you take a GPS. The apartment has everything you will need, just take your clothes and toiletries!

    We stayed at hawk's nest for 8 nights and absolutely loved it there !! After we landed and Thrifty stopped answering their phone,I got a call from Theresa looking for us.she picked us up at the airport and drove us to thrifty and then followed her to grocery store and then to hawks nest. Stepping out and seeing the view of Magen's bay,just totally awed!! Pictures don't do it justice. Ed and Theresa helped us unload car,and then Ed showed us our home for the week. Very clean and everything looks brand new! Ed and Theresa are the nicest people you'll ever meet. They'll help you any way you want or need. We never ate out as after our days of island hopping or at beach, we wanted to get home relax and enjoy the view! Especially the days when Bruce Springsteen had a yacht on Magen's !! Ed,Theresa, thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!!!

    What a great vacation! Soo much of it due to "Hawks Nest". It's a great villa with all the amenities you could want. We felt at home the minute we arrived and after two weeks, we didn't want to leave. It was great to wake up in the morning with windows open, a gentle breeze and such an amazing view. This was our first trip to the V.I. and after experiencing "island prices", this villa is a great vaue. Thanks to Theresa and Ed for giving us our privacy but also being attentive if we needed help. Again, a geat time with great hosts.

    Our trip (myself and my fiance) to St Thomas got off to a rough start when our flight out of Minneapolis was severely delayed, causing us to miss our connection to St. Thomas--as a result we would be arriving at 10:30 pm instead of 4pm. Since Theresa and Ed had kindly offered to meet us at the airport, I called to share the bad news, feeling bad that we'd now likely be keeping them up. Ed answered the phone, and said "Chris, my advice would be for you to chill out and have a beer. Relax. We'll pick you up no matter what time you get here." I knew right then we were in with good people. The view from Hawks View is AMAZING, and I've seen a fair amount of the world. And the inside of the apartment was also phenomenal--the pics on the this site don't do it justice. Its very modern, roomy, well lit and extremely well maintained. It was very peaceful and quiet where they are located both day and night--save for the sounds of the wind and waves below. Ed and Theresa were both also more than we hoped for. They were very friendly, let us know to ask if we needed anything and just seemed like genuinely good/nice people. That being said, they also gave us total privacy. Going into this trip I was wondering if I would want to have stayed closer to the water (its about a 7 min drive to the beach)....I'm glad we didn't. The water front, while pretty, is also often loud, lots of people and commotion going on. This place allowed very easy access, with an amazing view (and sound!) of the water without all the potentially drawbacks of staying right on it. We covered darn near every inch of that island the week that we were there--and the more accommodation options I saw--the more I knew we had picked the right spot. If I were (and we may!) to go back St Thomas, I wouldn't waste one second looking at other options--I'd go right back there because I know we couldn't beat it. All the claims they make hold up, and I'd say the review they give of their own place is very modest--it's all that they say and much more. Thanks for everything guys, it wouldn't have been the same trip if we didn't end up with you!

    My husband and I were lying around on a Sat. morning discussing what we might want to do during his vacation week which started that day. He had taken a week off to sequence Christmas lights to music. It takes many hours to choreograph the lights to the music and my husband said he could do it anywhere . . . at home or even in St. Thomas. Well, you can imagine that I jumped at the opportunity to head to St. Thomas! From the start of concept to our arrival a mere 24 hours later, none of it would have been possible if it were not for our wonderful hosts, Ed and Theresa, who graciously opened their rental apt. to us in the off season, and with very little warning. We arrived to a spotless rental apt. Theresa met us at the airport and offered any help to us that we might need. We had a gorgeous view of Magens Bay and got up each morning to walk the beach and swim before the sun got too high in the sky. It was a very relaxing vacation. As new empty-nesters (our youngest child started college in August), we really enjoyed being spontaneous and shocked our three children as well as our friends and family with our impromptu vacation. Thank you, Ed and Theresa, for making our dream a reality. We’ll always look back on this trip with a smile.

    We have never seen a more complete accomodation in a more ideal location. Every need was satisfied not only with what we needed to live comfortably but the friendship and willingness to assist in any way possible by Theresa and Ed. As an example, when we were leaving for church our rental car would not start. Theresa contacted the rental company, Ed met the company service man and led him to Hawk's View while Theresa offered to drive us to church. They are just amazing people who we are happy to call friends. The location is 700' above Magens Bay Beach with an unobstructed view of the beautiful bay. In the morning there is nothing more relaxing and stress-releasing than to sit on this deck and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Thank you Ed and Theresa. Looking forward to next year.

    What can we say....this is our 3rd stay at Hawks View and each time it just gets better and better!!! Ed and Theresa are the greatest hosts. Their apartment is very clean and beautiful and the views from the deck are breathtaking! We would take our coffee outside and sit at the high top table and take in Megan's Bay which is right below. You could sit for hours out there. You can see alot of the other islands from there also which is very beautiful. It is very centrally located to everything; but you should rent a car so you can get around this whole beautiful island. There is a gas grill which we used alot and Ed and Theresa made sure you had everything you needed to prepare meals if that's what you chose to do. All of the beach supplies are there from coolers, chairs, towels, snorkling equipment, etc. They didn't miss anything. It was so quite at night since it is in a gated community; all you heard was the water below and the wind in the trees. Thank you so much for our wonderful vacation and the time spent at your home.     My partner, Steve, and I stayed at Hawk's View for a week. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to stay or more gracious and thoughtful hosts! When you step out on your deck each morning and are surrounded by tropical foliage and are looking out on one of the most beautiful beaches (Magen's Bay) in the world, you know you've chosen the right place to stay in St. Thomas! The view is simply breathtaking. Theresa and Ed have thought of everything when it comes to the apartment. Besides the full kitchen (which we loved), the apartment also had a cooler, beach chairs, water noodles, beach towels, and snorkeling equipment. There was nothing we needed for the beach that wasn't provided. We never would have had all of that if we had stayed at a hotel. The apartment itself is tastefully decorated, well-thought-out, comfortable, and very clean. There were also some DVDs and CDs there for our use, which was a nice touch. Theresa and Ed also provided us with excellent restaurant recommendations and helped us with directions. We so appreciated all of their help and hospitality! This was truly one of the best vacations we've ever had, and staying at Hawk's View played a big part in our experience. If you choose to stay here, you will most definitely be glad that you did. Note: Definitely rent a car if you stay here. It will definitely be more convenient and cost effective than trying to take cabs. Scott Chicago, IL

    “My wife and I recently stayed at Theresa and Ed's villa. It was an experience of a life time. They were very hospitable and gracious, and made every attempt to make sure we could enjoy ourselves. The villa has virtually everything needed for your stay. The views were everything that their advertisement displays. We enjoyed the early morning sunrises, full moon glistening on the ocean at night, and cool eastern breezes from the deck. Their villa had brochures for various destinations, day trips, etc. for our week of adventure. I recommend a car rental (but don't advise Budget rental), a downtown trip (Charlotte Amalie), a trip to Red Hook and St. John Island, at least one afternoon at Smith Beach (our favorite), and make you stop by to the "Udder Delight". This is an ice cream shop outside Magens Bay. Great malts w/ a liqueur added. Our favorite restaurants were Gladys’s, and Hook, Line and Sinker (both downtown). Overall, it was great vacation to relax, enjoy that special person you came with, and to immerse yourself in a great little community. We will definitely be in contact with Theresa and Ed the next time we return to St. Thomas. Mike and Dawn”

    PERFECTION..That is what I was seeking. I had planned a surprise trip for My Wife .. We have raised five children, well all most...and had never been away by ourselves for any period of time. I had been to St. Thomas twice before and absolutely love it there, and knew it would be the PERFECT place. This trip was so very important to Me for My Wife. I spent a great deal of time searching for the PERFECT place to stay. I happened across this website and this apartment. I read all the great things from people who had been here and knew it was for us. As in anything that is important there is a certain amount of anxiety involved. There is always the possibility of something going wrong...... We arrived in St Thomas on schedule apparently our rental car company had over booked and was over their heads. Our host Edward had come to meet us at the airport. It took 90 minutes to finally get a rental car, and Edward patiently waited. That was so nice. When We arrived at the apartment I felt all my anxiety turn to total happiness and amazement. I think you could use the best camera money can buy and never capture the beauty of this place. When we walked into the apartment My Wife thought We were in Edward and Theresa's home. it is truly so very beautiful. PERFECT. I think there is a lot to be said when you are in paradise and you actually look forward to going back to your accommodations . There are a lot of great places to stay there I am sure. This is one of the best. ....I wanted the perfect trip for My Wife ..She so deserves it and so much more as many Wives do. I had succeeded ..I had planned and lived the PERFECT trip. Most of the credit goes to Theresa and Edward and their PERFECT place that they selflessly share. They will absolutely make you feel at home and help with anything you need. They are two of the nicest and genuine people you would ever meet. Thank you to both of you for making this so PERFECT for both Toni and I. If you go to Hawks View please be kind to it, as when I return I want it to be as PERFECT as I when We left. All we talk about since we have returned is how to get back and visit Theresa and Edward and their PERFECT piece of Paradise called "Hawks View" Thank you both again so much, we will always cherish our time there and I think We will be back soon.     Hawk's View was great I love it there if I ever travel back to St. Thamas Ed & Theresa's place is on the top of my list. They were very welcoming and had all the local information that one would need.From directions to anywhere, restruants, and the local customs and courtesies. Ed even has his stater list to make sure evrything runs smooth for you. Hawk's View is centrally located for anything you want to do on St Thomas and just a short run to Magen's bay. From the balcony you have postcard views whichs is a great place for breakfast. Also if you have any problems Ed and Thresea will work diligently to help you. Hawk's View is a first class place and would recommend them anyday. Also, if your thinking about staying at a hotel or resort staying with a local is so much better. Thank you for a great time Ed & Theresa!! I hope to see yall in New Orleans for Jazz Fest.

    This was our first time trying a rental, and we absolutely loved it! We had a much better time than if we had stayed in a hotel, and Ed & Teresa gave us great tips to make our vacation even better. Everything we could have wanted was right at our fingertips, and you can't beat the great view of Megan's Bay for morning coffee. Be sure to grab dinner at Sib's when you stay. Say hi to the parrots for us!

    A great vacation! This beautiful place instantly makes you feel like you are at home. The apartment is very private and has all the amenities you could ever want. The view overlooking Magen's Bay is so stunning we couldn't believe that we had gotten so fortunate as to have found Hawk's View. My plans were to propose to my girlfriend on an exotic beach with the waves crashing up behind us, but of all the locations I found on the island, nothing could compare to romantic moonlit view over looking Magen's Bay from our balcony. With a full moon overhead, the sounds of the island and the cool breeze all around us, the moment and the location couldn't have been more perfect. Our time at Hawk's View was the perfect way to start our life together and will always be in our memories. On the more practical side. The apartment is very private and comfortable. We cooked on the grill on the balcony as well as in the full kitchen. Some of our favorite restaurants while we were there: Mafolie, Oceana (in French Town), had a great burger down at Hull bay. Definitely take a day tour of BVI with New Horizons. It was a great way to see the islands for the day. We took two trips to St. John on the car ferry and stopped by Sloop Jones's place to pick up some "Wearable Art" and spent a day at beautiful Trunk Bay. Daily trips down to Magen's Bay are a must, but stop by the Dairy Store "Udder Delight" on the way down to get a milk shake spiked with rum for the beach! It is a beautiful beach and you can point up to your apartment and brag to the other tourists about your wonderful location! All in all and vacation dream come true and Theresa and Ed are two of the best hosts you could possibly ask for! If you are looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway, this will be perfect. A car is a must, but nothing on the island is too far. Thank you for everything!!

    Let me just start by saying that Theresa and Ed go out of their way to make things easy. All we had to do was enjoy our vacation. Morning tea overlooking Magens Bay was the perfect way to begin each morning. Immaculate home, it's in a gated area, so it feels very safe. You won't really be walking anywhere, but other than Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas isn't set up for walking at all. At Theresa's and Ed's suggestion, we hit Smith Bay Beach, about 10 minutes away. It was "out of a magazine" beautiful and we had it nearly all to ourselves. Entrance fee was $4 (I think). We'd also suggest dinner at Mafolie Restaurant on the road into Charlotte Amalie. Food and views were amazing. We took the ferry over to St. John's. If you do so, make sure you're a capable driver. Curvy and steep don't begin to describe the roads. But if you go, head out to Coral Bay and Island Blues, a bar/restaurant on the water. Try the burgers. Back on St. Thomas, Magens Bay was an obvious beach choice, 5-6 minutes away from Hawks View. Getting in during the day with a car is $10 (two people), but it's an enjoyable way to waste a day. Pizza and drinks at the bar overlooking the beach shouldn't be missed. If you're looking for a sunset, the beach is free, at least when we went in the evening after 5. And make sure to stop off at Udder Delight between Hawks View and Magens Bay for an alcoholic milkshake. Personally, I'd recommend a "chocomint." The home has everything you'd need, including a nice breeze, a grill and a wraparound deck.

    This is an amazing location for your vacation getaway! Theresa and Edward are the most wonderful people on the island and know how to make you feel at home right away. The view is spectacular from the deck and the set up in the kitchen will save you tremendously if you're on a budget (like most travelers are now a days). They've got everything you'd need. A car rental is a must. The drive is short to Magens Bay and day trips to St. Johns fit in very nicely as well for the adventure seekers. "Hawks View" is a perfect place for a couple and one of the best values on the island. Highly recommended

    My grown daughter and I wanted to spend some quality time in a quiet and beautiful vacation spot for some rest and relaxation. Hawk's View came highly recommended by a dear friend and we were NOT disappointed. From the breathtaking views on the spacious deck where we enjoyed our morning coffee to the clean and well furnished accomodations in the apartment itself. It was just minutes away to the beautiful beaches and the charming town. Theresa and Ed, our gracious hosts, who I hope we can call our friends, provided us with everything required to make our stay extra special. Their website provided us with all the information we needed and then to arrive and have this well stocked, clean and most comfortable apartment to ourselves was great! We look forward to being able to plan our next getaway to Hawk's View for my "BIG" birthday next year! Thank you Theresa and Ed.

    I can's say enough about our stay at Hawk's View and our hosts Ed and Theresa. First of all the accomodations are BEAUTIFUL and SOOOO SPACIOUS. Bigger than any other vacation apt. we rented before. It is your own private apartment with the most to-die-for views ever and it has everything you need to be at home. It is nicely decorated and VERY clean. Ed & Theresa were so nice and helpful and we are happy to be able to call them friends now. You will feel as if you are living in your own little paradise when you stay here and by our second day, I felt the stress melt away. We enjoyed BBQ on our private deck as well as cooking meals in the wonderful (large) kitchen and looking out at the magnificant view. We also enjoyed our adventures to different parts of the island and there is much to do within an easy drive of the apartment. We had the most perfect vacation and will most certainly stay here next time we come to St. Thomas. Thanks again Theresa and Ed, you made our vacation extra special and it was a pleasure to meet you both. See you next time!

    Our week-long stay at “Hawks View” in May was just what the doctor ordered. Theresa and Ed were gracious hosts…available for questions yet respectful of our privacy. Also, the apartment was very well maintained, clean, and had all the comforts of home. Every morning and most nights we spent on the deck admiring the unbelievable views of Magen’s Bay. The mental and physical pictures will stay with us forever. And for those wanting to get back in touch with nature, there are plenty of opportunities to experience nature and appreciate the self-sufficiency of an island. And make sure to take Theresa and Ed’s suggestion for places to eat and things to do. They suggested several restaurants which turned out to be better than any of the guide books and suggested a BVI tour which was a true highlight of the trip. We will recommend Hawk’s View to friends and family going to St. Thomas.

    Hawk's View is everything it is advertised as and more. Ed & Theresa are more than accomodating and helpful as well as friendly neighbors! We spent a month at their beautiful apartment but within the first few days we were calling it home. The apartment is actually an attached one bedroom home. It is well designed and very comfortable and quiet. It is close to beaches and just over the hill from Charlotte Amalie. Magen's Beach is just a few minutes drive and also provides a gorgeous view from the deck. We grilled most of our meals but there are several great restaurants nearby. Sibs and the Northdrop were our favorites. We would not hesitate to return and have already recommended Hawk's View to others.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    My husband David, daughter Alissa and I stayed at this beautiful location 2 years ago, and will always have some of the best memories from that week. As soon as I spoke to Theresa to inquire about their rental, I knew we had chosen the right place. We are frequent tenants of vacation rentals, and this was by far the best we have stayed at. Not only because of the obvious beauty of the location, the spacious and luxurious accomodations, the kitchen lacking for nothing, but mostly because Theresa and Ed made us feel right at home, making sure we had everything we could possibly need. I have friends staying there now on our recommendation, and I would highly recommend Hawk's View to anyone!

    This perfectly-sized house upon a hill has everything you need for an island getaway. The view is first and foremost...perfect. The location is great,,secluded but close enough to everything..and not to be bothered by anyone. The bedroom is gorgeous and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is big and wide and open. And the living room is just right for lounging i the evening. The wrapparound balcony is great for hanging out and grilling dinner. My girlfriend i knew from the moment we arrived, it would be difficult leavng, not just St Thomas, but this house! We will definitely be returning someday

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    What can we say, but this was the perfect get/hide away. My husband and I stayed for ten days last July. Ed and Theresa were the perfect host. We feel as though we have a lasting bond with them. Let's just say, we found we have a lot in common. The veiw was awsome, Magen,s Bay, Virgin Gorda, and Drake's Pass. The beaches are amazing!!! We recommend Sapphire on St. Thomas and Hawk's Nest on St. John's is a must! This is just a beautiful beach, so bring a cooler. Sapphire is a great beach. They have everything you will ever need. Magen's Bay is a great way to end your day. We relaxed in the calm waters and watched the sun fade over the horizon. A must at Magen's bay, is the pizza. So, just relax and enjoy the beauty. Tell Ed and Theresa, Xinh and Dave said HI!

    Having been to St.Thomas in the past and staying at hotels we thought we'd try something different. We first vacationed at Hawk's View in February of 2007 and returned in January 2008. Our first trip began with chaos as an impending storm cancelled our flight causing my partner and I to have to fly standby. There were only a few flights remaining and we were told if we flew separately we would increase our odds of getting to our destination some time that day. I went first not knowing if I would be vacationing alone as my partner remained stranded at a snowed in airport with all flights grounded. Luckily we met up hours later at our connecting flight and jumped on the last plane to the island. Nine hours late, in the dark, tired and hungry we were greeted at the airport by Theresa with a warm and friendly smile. Knowing we would be tired and most likely starved from our earlier travels Ed picked up a pizza and had it waitng for us when we arrived at the house. Since we had never rented a vacation property without a referral or at least seeing it first, we did not know what to expect. We were beyond pleased by our accomodations, the apartment was perfect. It was spacious, tasteful and meticulously clean. Since we arrived in the dark the greatest treasure was left for the morning. The view is more amazing than any picture could possibly express. The turquoise waters of Megan's Bay below and the ability to see over Peterborg to the down island views make this location quite special and unique. It seemed almost pointless to ever leave the apartment when we had the best location right at our very own place. The apartment is more than sufficiently stocked with everything you could possibly need. No need to pack beach towels or a beach bag. There are even masks, snorkels and flippers. The kitchen is equipped to cook as though you never left your own and we love to cook! Why bother spending money out when you can prepare your own wonderful meals and dine on the best terrace in town with the most magnificent views. Theresa and Ed are close enough to answer all of your questions but far enough to make your stay quite private. Ideally situated this property will have you at the beach or downtown Charlotte Amalie in minutes. You can be beach bums, bookworms or great adventurers but no matter how you choose to spend your vacation it can only be enhanced by staying at Hawk's View, a true home away from home. We will return as often as possible.
