Great fall, summer, and spring vacation destination. Silver Lake is a spring fed lake located in the small rural town of Lee. The cottage is tucked into a quiet cove of the lake and is surrounded by hills. Local mixed deciduous forests provide colorful fall foliage viewing mid-September to mid-October. For those of you looking for a place to spend your days relaxing at the lake floating on a tube, paddling a canoe, sailing, swimming, fishing, or hanging out on the dock and deck, this is the place for you.

For those who wish to explore northern natural areas in the middle of a working forest, there are hundreds of miles of gravel logging roads and structured ATV trails to explore by auto, mountain bike, or ATV. For those who delight in taking day excursions to places of interest, this area is central to historical landmarks and recreational sites such as the Black Mansion and Kings Landing; state and national parks such as Baxter State Park, Acadia National Park, and Roosevelt Campobello International Park; the Canadian border provides exploration to the North; and there are also extensive Maine coastal regions.

This area is also a popular location for hunting and fishing enthusiasts. The gin-colored waters of this spring-fed lake hold bass, pickerel, white perch, and ice out trophy brook trout. These varied species of fish support a healthy loon population. For the hunting enthusiast, there is moose hunting by lottery, bear, deer, partridge and duck hunting. There is open season on coyotes year-round.

WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE: Lee Post Office, Local general store, Restaurant, Hiking Mount Jefferson, Lee Historical Society with the Lee Museum housing a large collection including Civil War artifacts, a piece of the Hindenburg, a birch bark canoe, many antiques, and a horse drawn hearse and Mallet Hall Museum a restored hotel with tours by appointment and the location of public Baked Bean suppers.

This camp is located on one of the nicest lakes in Maine. It's a very quite location with great views of the lake. The public boat landing is not far away and the camp owned dock is plenty big enough to dock your boat. I love the location and the camp. Will rent again and agian..... You'll enjoy watching your children have the time of their lives. Enjoy

The cottage is looking really beautiful now with a new extended deck off the front and a new roof! It was always in the past and is still used by our extended family, but we decided last year to start to share it with you.... It is a great family gathering place. The kids will love it.
