The 4-season, vacation house sits quietly along the tranquil Crooked River which feeds into Sebago Lake. It is located in the heart of the Sebago Lake Region. The house is minutes away from Sebago Lake State Park Beach, the magnificent sights of the Naples Causeway, as well as the shops, restaurants, and bars of downtown Naples. However, you will feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. When in the living room and kitchen, you are surrounded by beautiful, Maine knotty-pine walls. Most of the summer you can pick blueberries for your breakfast right off the deck and by the water.
We recently updated the bathroom, kitchen sink/countertop and added hard wood flooring to the living room. We do rent by the night and weekend during the off-season.

The location is quiet and relaxing for families, couples, and friends reuniting. The vacation house is 1200 square feet large. The outdoor deck overlooks the 125 feet over water frontage. A small, sandy beach area is located by the river along with a dock to swim from and to keep a power or pontoon boat. Sebago Lake is a 20 minute boat ride from the house. Boat landings are nearby. Within a few minutes by car are several marinas that rent watercrafts for personal use. By boat you can ride to the Songo Locks, Brandy Pond, Long Lake and Frye Island. On site there is a canoe with life jackets. During all 4 seasons, anglers of all ages fish for such species as landlocked salmon, bass, lake trout, and brook trout.
The location is also less than five miles from two 18-hole golf courses. The rental of the house allows you free access to the Sebago Lake State Park and Beach. The State Park Beach has a sandy bottom and the entrance to it is 2 miles from the house. Take the family or your loved one to a movie at the Bridgton Drive-in. The house is located less than hour from popular tourist areas such as Oxford Casino, Portland, Freeport and North Conway!
Testimonials from renters.
Annette from MA- Your house is truly beautiful; it was very peaceful and the river was interesting. The best part is the beach by the river- my dog really enjoyed wading in the river- and the deck facing the river. There was really a ton of space and it was really clean.
The flowers in the yard were pretty cool, too- the ones surrounding the house were just starting to bloom; I bet by now there's an explosion of color surrounding your house. We'd love to come back and stay again.
Karen from NJ- We enjoyed our stay at the cabin and appreciated the quiet mornings. The cabin has a lovely view of 'Crooked River' and it was satisfying to enjoy a cup of coffee while sitting on the bench near the water's edge. The cabin is centrally located to all that Maine has to offer and we enjoyed our trip to the Fryeburg Fair(get there early!). We also spent a day in New Hampshire. We finished up with several day trips in the other direction to Freeport, Portland and Kittery. We love Maine!!
Mike from PA- I wanted to let you know that everything was FANTASTIC. The Wife, the dog and I loved getting out of the city to relax. It is truly beautiful up there. I loved the cabin as well. The pictures on the listing do it no justice! I'll surely be back to visit it this summer. Also, your parents were great! I had a nice chat about Pennsylvania (I'm from Philadelphia originally). Small world. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for the excellent experience.
Eric from MA- We greatly enjoyed our stay. We thought the cottage was perfect for our needs and enjoyed the ability to either sit around a fire or have fun on the beach. Once again thank you for allowing the opportunity for us to rent your property during the 4th.
The three bedroom house can hold up to 11 guests. The bunkhouse can be used for up to 2 guests to sleep. The house has several amenities you may not find at all vacation rentals. It has a dock, grill, stove, porch, dock, canoe and a campfire area with firewood. A staircase takes you to the master bedroom. Pets are welcomed. The nearby sister property can be rented for multi-families vacationing at the same time.
Upon your arrival, the house has such supplies as toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, trash bags, common kitchen spices, dish towels, matches, firewood, first aid kit, fire extinguisher and flashlights. Renters must provide their own linens and towels for bathing. Two beds are queen-size and one bed is full-size and one is a twin. The living room has a full-size pull out sofa. The house has several board games and three televisions. The living room has a 65 inch projection tv and a dvd player.
The area is truly a four season delight! In the summer, many vacationers visit the Lake Region to fish, boat, sightsee, kayak, canoe, and just relax on one of the many bodies of water. A unique feature of the area is the Songo Locks, one of the last remaining functioning locks to connect two bodies of water in Maine. The house's dock can be used for securing a boat and for swimming.
The price is based on number of occupants, length of stay and season. It is a pet-friendly rental that does not charge extra for pets. A security deposit is required to reserve and occupy the house. The deposit amount is based on the length of stay and number of occupants. The deposit is refundable unless you cancel your reservation with less than 6 week’s notice. The security deposit is usually $450 per week and an extra security deposit of $50 per pet. Paypal with a fee, checks and cash are accepted.

We spent a week at this Summer House. The description of the house was very accurate and it is actaully bigger that the photos show.. We all had a great time.Their were 7 adults and 1 child and we had plenty of room. Kyle and his family were very nice to deal with and were quick to help out any way they could. I would recommend this house as a good vacation place. The State Park was very close less than 5 minutes away and the water was beautiful. We made lots of memories during this week in Maine. My granddaughter enjoyed the canoe also .. Thanks Kyle and family for a nice vacation place !! Even Lucy our dog had a good time..Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, adventure seekers.

A fellow hunter and I rented this cottage for a week of hunting in western Maine. I can honestly state that I have never slept so well as I did in this comfortable and quiet house. The rustic atmosphere gave me the impression I was in a hunting camp in the north woods but it had all the amenities I have in my own home. The owner and his parents were wonderful hosts and were responsive to any and all requests. I highly recommend this home and can only imagine what a great place this would be in the summer. I will have no concerns with staying here again in the future.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Four mothers and five daughters gathered for the Columbus Day Weekend at the camp. . The camp was roomy enough for all of us to sleep comfortably and large enough for all of us to gather in the living room to play games and watch a movie. Sebago Lake State Park was only a mile and a half away and it is wonderful that a park pass comes with the rental. The kitchen has everything you would need to prepare a meal and the entire camp was immaculately cleaned. A notebook at the camp contains information on restaurants and activities nearby. We loved EVERYTHING ABOUT IT and as an added bonus the Rhoads family was wonderful to deal with and encouraged us to call if we had any problems. We loved the kayaking and especially enjoyed biking in the park. This is a great vacation getaway.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We recently stayed at the cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottage was in great shape, very cozy, comfortable and well equipped with everything you would need including giant screen TV. The setting itself is unique and lovely. The deck is a great place to hang out and relax and check out the fantastic river views. We also got to bring our dog which was a big plus, and they have a hugh dog friendly side yard. Kyle, the owner was very nice and helpful. We hope to stay at the cottage again very soon or at their "sister property" next door which looks just as nice! Highly recommended.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1980
About the owner: Hi, I am Kyle Rhoads and I usually respond to rental inquiries. The cottage is family-owned with my parents, Cathy and Rich Rhoads, are the caretakers. My wife, Carrie, and my sister, Lynley, often help keep the cottage maintained and cleaned. We are family of educators with my parents both retired educators. I am a Principal of a local elementary school and my sister and wife are both counselors in schools. We love this location for the family memories, the peaceful living and our love for watersports. My Dad loves to fish and often helps renters know where to find the best spots to catch 'the big one' that did not get away!
Why the Owner Chose Sebago Lake:
Our family bought the cottage first as a summer place and then as our primary home because we were spending so much time at it! It is no longer our primary home for us but we want to keep the property so future generations of our family can relax and enjoy the summer months on the water in Maine. Because of taxes and the mortgage payments, we rent the cottage so we can keep our 2 cottages owned by our family.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
I love sitting on the deck or the living room and feel the breeze from the river. You are easily relaxed by the sun rays and warm summer breeze while laying on the dock, sitting by the beach area, or sitting on the deck sipping a cold drink. The grounds have plenty of room to roam and explore. Many guests will set up a volleyball net or a horseshoe pit. Flowers in the gardens bloom throughout the year. The cottage is kid-friendly My young nieces love to play in the water while we watch them from the deck. They, also, love to pick blueberries by the water. If we can get them to wait to eat them, they are delicious with cereal and milk!
