Great Vacation!!

Guest: DD (West Springfield,Ma)
Date of Stay: 07/16/11 Review Submitted: 07/27/11

We spent a week at this Summer House. The description of the house was very accurate and it is actaully bigger that the photos show.. We all had a great time.Their were 7 adults and 1 child and we had plenty of room. Kyle and his family were very nice to deal with and were quick to help out any way they could. I would recommend this house as a good vacation place. The State Park was very close less than 5 minutes away and the water was beautiful. We made lots of memories during this week in Maine. My granddaughter enjoyed the canoe also .. Thanks Kyle and family for a nice vacation place !! Even Lucy our dog had a good time..

I have to say I was a little skeptical on the weekend when i first set out in search of a place to stay in the naples area. I came across the listing for this lovely cottage. I have to say that my experience and weekend were excellent for me and my family. If you looking for a good weekend of snowmobiling and outdoor activites this is the place to be, excellent communication with the owner and easy to deal with and make reservations.

An Excellent Stay

A fellow hunter and I rented this cottage for a week of hunting in western Maine. I can honestly state that I have never slept so well as I did in this comfortable and quiet house. The rustic atmosphere gave me the impression I was in a hunting camp in the north woods but it had all the amenities I have in my own home. The owner and his parents were wonderful hosts and were responsive to any and all requests. I highly recommend this home and can only imagine what a great place this would be in the summer. I will have no concerns with staying here again in the future.

Women's Weekend Getaway

Guest: Sarah (Gardiner, Maine)
Date of Stay: 10/08/10 Review Submitted: 10/16/10

Four mothers and five daughters gathered for the Columbus Day Weekend at the camp. . The camp was roomy enough for all of us to sleep comfortably and large enough for all of us to gather in the living room to play games and watch a movie. Sebago Lake State Park was only a mile and a half away and it is wonderful that a park pass comes with the rental. The kitchen has everything you would need to prepare a meal and the entire camp was immaculately cleaned. A notebook at the camp contains information on restaurants and activities nearby. We loved EVERYTHING ABOUT IT and as an added bonus the Rhoads family was wonderful to deal with and encouraged us to call if we had any problems. We loved the kayaking and especially enjoyed biking in the park. This is a great vacation getaway.

Best getaway vacation I have had

Date of Stay: 03/19/10 Review Submitted: 03/31/10

I was pleasantly shocked to find out Kyle responded to my inquiry within 90 minutes (and I emailed him at 11pm) and we were soon booked. Kyle's customer service was outstanding, the best I have experienced while renting. The home was beautiful in the pictures, but even better in person. We grilled on the deck each day and night, and made great breakfasts in the spacious kitchen every morning. The loft had incredible views and offered privacy, where the other bedrooms were downstairs. It was easy to get to and the neighbors, where they were not that close in proximity, made us feel like we lived there all year round. All the amenities were there for cooking, cleaning and washing our clothes. Being right on the water was awesome and I'm looking forward to going back in season so we can take advantage of the water and the activities it offers. We were only a few miles away from stores and restaurants, although we didn't need to leave the house at all. I took my children with me and they absolutely loved the large screen television with all the channels (so did I when they went to bed!) Don't bother bringing your own music, Kyle has a great stereo system there and we had it on all the time we were outside. Personally, what I enjoyed the most was there were plenty of great books to read as well. I realized I forgot the novel I was reading at home, and was so happy to see a good choice available there, as well as many classic board games. We didn't use the fire pit, but we certainly will the next time we go and enjoy some marshmellows and some great fellowship around the fire. I would recommend this property to my friends without hesitation.

Peace and Quiet

Guest: SawxFan (Pembroke, NH)

I've rented in the Sebago Lakes region several times, but last year was my first one at this property, and I'll definitely be back. Kyle was really easy to deal with, and the house itself was great. It's so peaceful there in the morning - I'd have coffee and read the paper down by the lake. The house is close enough to bars, restaurants, and stores to be convenient, but it DEFINITELY doesn't seem it. It's a great place to get away from it all.

I only have 1 word for this rental AWESOME!!. I have been staying at this house for years and at least 2 times a year. You will not find a better rental anyway in the Naples area. The owner and his family are really hands on. They take care of all your needs. The house itself is maintained very well. The new bathroom and the new flooring they just installed makes it very special. I would recommend this rental to anyone. Looking forward to going there again real soon

We spent a wonderful week here last fall, it was just as advertised, neat and clean and fully equipped. The location is great, under tall pines with lots of space around the house. Wonderful deck overlooking the river, large bedroom upstairs and a well-stocked kitchen. There's plenty of good biking nearby, you can kayak or fish directly out the back door, and there's easy access to Sebago Lake State Park. This was our first time to this area, and we fully enjoyed it. Kyle and his parents were very helpful during our stay, and we hope to go back again next fall!

Great Place

Date of Stay: 08/29/09 Review Submitted: 04/01/10

My husband and I along with our Golden Retriever stayed here last year and had a wonderful time. We had stayed at the "sister property" the year before and upgraded to have a better river access. What a great place this is. You can walk right in to the river and there is enough beach for kids or dogs to dig and play in. Very homey and comfortable with a fantastic river view. There are all of the amenities of home, but still with a rustic getaway feeling of camping. Fishing off the dock and watching the dog try to out swim the ducks were highlights of the day. The big screen TV was great to have, but there was never time or energy to watch it. We brought up an inflatable boat with an electric motor and had no trouble going up and down the river. There are many places to visit and great places to eat, but just relaxing and getting away from everyday hassles and reconnecting with nature are by far the best parts. The only downside was the location of the fire ring outside. It is across the small road next to the bunkhouse (which looks fun if you are a kid), but I solved that by building a small one down on the river bank with loose rocks and dismantled it before we left....sorry Kyle. It was so great toasting marshmallows in the evening watching the river flow by. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking to getaway and relax. Unfortunately for the Rhoads family (who are great people) we loved this area so much, we purchased a motorhome so we could get up there whenever we want too...........

Sebago Stay

Date of Stay: 08/15/09 Review Submitted: 04/03/10

My wife, daughter and I stayed at this location last summer for vacation. The cottage is well kept and quite modern. The advertised photos were recent and illustrated the layout well. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quite week off the beaten trail. The river water is cold and made for refreshing swims duirng the heat of August. The ride to the lake is a bit long (30+ minutes) by boat but it is an easy ride and enjoyable. The owner was very helpful with our questions through out the week. His father was more than willing to offer me advice on the fishing in the lake which was great. We ate most meals out and found the Black Bear Bistro to be one of the best restaurants in the area for good home cooked foods. The owner was additionally very pet friendy and allowed us to bring our 2 golden retrievers.

Excellent Family vacation spot

Date of Stay: 08/01/09 Review Submitted: 08/10/09

My family of 6 and I stayed at this property in August of 2009. The house had plenty of room for my large family. We certainly enjoyed the big screen TV with satellite channels. The master bedroom upstairs has plenty of room and the beds were very comfortable. The beach on the river was definately a bonus for the kids. They spent plenty of time swimming in the river, jumping off the dock, and feeding the ducks. The kids enjoyed playing frisbie in the side yard and there was plenty of firewood for our fires in the firepit at night. I also brought my 20 ft boat and tied it very easily to the dock. It is nice being on the quite river when the lake is rocking and rolling to passing storm. The river ride to the lake can take some time but having the opportunity to go to Sebago Lake or Long Lake through the Locks is very nice. The area that the property is located is very quite and far enough away from the traffic that you can actually listen to the birds sing but the location is only minutes away by car to many activities, stores and restaurants. We were also able to bring our family dog which is a big bonus because most places will not allow pets. The dog certainly enjoyed exploring the area on his walks and playing around in the river with the kids. The owner is very accomodating and easy to work with. They have posted simple instructions throughout the house to convey information such as the workings of the TV and when trash is picked up. The property is very clean and well cared for. There are many other enjoyable items such as the grill, outside deck, available bikes in the shed, and the canoe for fun rides on the river. My family and I enjoyed our stay and we will be back. I highly recommed this property to anyone.

Relaxing river cottage

Guest: Steve & Theresa (Boston, MA )
Date of Stay: 05/30/09 Review Submitted: 06/17/10

We recently stayed at the cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottage was in great shape, very cozy, comfortable and well equipped with everything you would need including giant screen TV. The setting itself is unique and lovely. The deck is a great place to hang out and relax and check out the fantastic river views. We also got to bring our dog which was a big plus, and they have a hugh dog friendly side yard. Kyle, the owner was very nice and helpful. We hope to stay at the cottage again very soon or at their "sister property" next door which looks just as nice! Highly recommended.

A great vacation home! Very clean, peaceful and private with all the essential ammenities. It was also a definite plus for pet friendliness. The dogs enjoyed the grounds and river also. The home also has a nice dock and canoe on the Crooked River that runs into Sebago Lake. We were centralized to Freeport and Conway, New Hampshire which was about a 45 minute drive to either location.

What an immaculate home - with all modern appliances including a large screen tv with both satellite and cable. The home features a nice dock on the cooked river that runs into sebago so its perfect for boating and a canoe is available too. It is located close to all attractions including a water park, and two drive in theatres! And only about 50 minute drive to Conway, New Hampshire. Grocery and banks are also nearby. We loved the house and grounds - it was a pleasure to find a place so clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this special get away in Maine.

A Great Place for a Vacation

Guest: misstufsy (Blue Hill, Maine)
Date of Stay: 07/01/07 Review Submitted: 07/26/07

My husband and I, along with another couple and our dog, rented this house for a week July 2007. Upon arrival we were greeted by the caretaker, she showed us around and was very pleasant. The home was spacious for 4 adults and our dog even on the rainy days we had. We were very close to Naples, and enjoyed a trip on the Songo River Queen around Long Lake. We were also close enough to Portland to get a little shopping done one day. There were a variety of restaurants close by, we chose Sydney's one night and were not dissappointed. I would definetly give this rental a thumbs up. The landscaping and yards were well taken care of, which is not something I have seen in many other rentals. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all this is a great choice.
