This property is located on a small lake in the gated community of Litchfield Greens near the prestigious Wigwam Resort, with its three championship golf courses. If you play golf, there are eight more golf courses in close proximity. The Cactus league has at least three major league teams in our area for spring training. For racing fans, the Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) is only 15 minutes away. The Glendale Arena plays host to professional hockey and provides a variety events and entertainment venues. For football enthusiasts, the new Cardinal Stadium in Glendale hosted the 2006 Fiesta Bowl and BCS Companionship, as well as the 2008 Fiesta Bowl and Super Bowl; all within a 15 minute drive. For Basketball enthusiasts, the Phoenix Suns arena is less than a 30 minute drive.
The White Tank State Park and Estrella Mountains have hiking trails for all levels through the beautiful Sonoran Desert and Mountains. Why the Owner Chose Litchfield Park
We chose this house as a place to live while we built a custom house in the same development. We ilved in it for almost two years while the other house was being completed. We also chose this location for it's closeness to Luke AFB (5 minutes away) and the Wigwam Country Club, with it's 3 first rate golf courses. The city of Litchfield Park always has and still holds a dear place in our hearts for it's beauty, smallness, hostorical significance and sense of community. It is also located very close to other recreational opportunities, as well as shopping areas.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The back patio, overlooking a small lake, and shaded by trees, is to die for. It is absolutely relaxing and peaceful, particularly in the mornings and evenings. The interior of the property was significantly upgraded in 2009. All new tile flooring throughout the living areas, kitchen and bathrooms. New carpet in the master bedroom. New, quiet dishwasher, counter tops and cabinetry in kitchen. New 42" Plasma TV in Great Room; new LCD in master bedroom.
Litchfield Park has a recreational complex, complete with Olympic size swimming pool, tennis courts and workout facilities and is only a 5 minute drive away. The Wigwam resort is a first class establishment, with excellent eating and recreational facilities and is also minutes away. They have free 'concerts in the park' six months of the year and other free activities for adults and children alike. The Arizona Cardinals football stadium is a 15 minute drive away and is used for many activities, including football. It is state of the art and makes attending sporting events a pleasure. There are many excellent restaurants, fast food places and shopping areas within a 2-20 minute drive. Most of all, the community of Litchfield Park, and particularly the development of Litchfield Greens (where the property is located) is like an oasis in the middle of the desert, with modest traffic, little noise and a small town environment, nestled in the western section of the fairly vast Phoenix urban communities.

We are a retired military family, having served 28+ years in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot. Retired from the USAF in 1995 and worked in a variety of aerospace related jobs in Taiwan, Las Vegas and Phoenix (at Luke AFB, as a contract academic and simulator instructor for the F-16 training course). Retired from the Instructor duties in 2008. Wife is a nurse, by profession, with a specialty in wound care and ostomies. She served in and retired from the USAF reserves as a nurse.
