Tawantan is designed in the spirit of John Lautner’s Real Architecture, as a one-of-a-kind, timeless, flowing space inspired in the site, the views, the Owner’s requirements and sensibilities. The house is partially recessed into one of the Twin Sisters Peaks, at the top of the 1700 acre property. "The House Above the Morning Clouds", was designed to be almost invisible from the distance but open to the spectacular views in all directions. Tawantan boasts the highest elevation of any privately owned home in the Bay Area. The home is a floor to ceiling glass structure featuring an amazing pool that slips beneath movable glass to the outdoors. Impeccably furnished, this contemporary home houses a fantastic collection of modern art. Tawantan offers a 360 degree view. The Golden Gate Bridge, the Sierras and everything in between change as the sun rises and sets. At times the home is fully enveloped in clouds, at others the home is above the clouds. The constantly changing view is fascinating. Tawantan is an incredible venue for weddings (up to 150 guests) and has played host to TV commercials, celebrities, and magazine advertisements.
