Location: Grand Lake, Northwest, Colorado, USA (In Columbine Lake near Rocky Mountain National Park)

Accommodations:  House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 11)

We welcome you to our mountain house! Our extended family has had wonderful times here and we hope yours will, too. We are proud of the condition of our home and hope you will enjoy the moose theme. In fact we have seen real moose on more than half of our visits! It's the perfect place to enjoy nature without roughing it.

Moose Hus is fully furnished so you'll feel right at home. The large living room and dining area with cast-iron gas stove and cathedral ceiling is the place where everyone gathers for TV, DVD, games, and conversation. The modern kitchen is conveniently nearby.

If you want peace and quiet, retire to the Wildflower Room on the main level, or for more privacy, the Evergreen Room upstairs or the Columbine Room on the lower level. Each room has a queen-size bed and a bathroom. The Wildflower Room shares its bathroom with the Bear Den, a perfect place for the kids with two bunk-beds, one of them with a double size bottom bunk.

The garage, which can hold two cars, keeps your cars warm and dry, and also includes a washer and dryer. The house is fully carpeted and since some of our family members have allergies, no smoking and no pets are allowed.

Moose Hus is located just across the highway from the town of Grand Lake and two miles from the Grand Lake entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Kawaneechee Visitor Center. Historic Grand Lake was established in 1876 as a center for nearby gold and silver mining. Now it features specialty shops, restaurants, and two food stores and other services. The Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater performs here in the summer.

In winter, enjoy snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, skating, and sledding. In summer, participate in hiking, boating, fishing, horseback riding, golfing and picnicking. You might even find it interesting to walk through the historic Grand Lake cemetery.

Enjoy your stay!

    • We are also homeowner's at Columbine Lake and rented this home when our guest list outgrew our home. The house worked great and the weekend was an absolutely beautiful fall weekend complete with a large moose in their yard and swimming in the local lake. Fran

    • This home was perfect for our group of six adults and three children--everyone had their own private space, and the common area was spacious and comfortable for all to gather together. The table accommodated us all for both eating and games in the evening. Besides hiking and fishing we delighted in seeing MOOSE. I didn't know Colorado had any! Grand Lake and RMNP are a beautiful area in spite of all the beetle killed trees. Stay in this home and enjoy it yourselves!

    • We, a party of 10 rented this great mountain home over New Year's weekend, 2007. We had plenty of room for all of us we weren't crouded at all. The kitchen was well stocked with everything. There was plenty of parking including the 2 car garage. Grand Lake does a fireworks show at midnight on New Year's Eve and it was spectacular! We can't wait to rent again in the summer time.
