Palmetto Dunes Resort is the location of this newly remodeled 4 bedroom, 4 bath, raised single home that is a short 4 minute to the beach. The foyer opens to the living room, which has been designer decorated in a tropical motif and features a comfortable seating group, a gas fireplace and a 50" wall mounted plasma screen TV with DVD player and CD system. The kitchen features state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, including double wall ovens and a professional style gas countertop range. A large and open dining/serving counter with four barstools connects the kitchen and the adjoining dining room. The dining room has a stylish, raised table with seating for eight with a wall of windows flanking French doors that open to the outside deck. The deck has a gas grill, an outdoor dining table for four and steps leading down to the pool. The inground pool is surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs, a second outdoor dining table for four, an outdoor shower, professional landscaping and a speaker system for CD's and radio. The master bedroom has a king size bed, a TV/DVD player, a large window with a pool view and a spacious private bath with a Jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower. Down the side hallway you will find bedrooms 2 and 3. Bedroom 2 has two twin beds, a TV/DVD player and a private bath. Bedroom 3 also has two twin beds and a TV/DVD/player, as well as a full bath and laundry room complete with a full-size washer and dryer. Up a half flight of stairs is the large, cathedral ceiling bonus room, which is furnished as bedroom 4 with a queen size bed, two double beds and a TV/DVD player. In addition, there is a private bath with a glass walk-in shower. Underneath the home is a two car garage and outside you will find a 35' foot driveway for off-road parking. We have arrangements with Riding Tigers Bike Rentals to obtain discounted pricing on weekly bike rentals for our guests. Call them at 843-686-5833 to make a reservation.
Palmetto Dunes is a 2,000 acre oceanfront resort that reaches from the 3 miles of white sandy beach through 11 miles of lagoons, 3 golf courses and 25 tennis courts to the bikeway under Highway 278 that provides access to the Shelter Cove Marina, shops, restaurants and mall.

We are from the Indianapolis area. We had a group of 8 and stayed for a week over last New Year's holiday. We love this house!! The house is nicely furnished and it has just enough features to entertain us at night without keeping the kids away from the beach during the day. The location is perfect - a short walk or bike ride to the beach, but quiet and secluded in the neighborhood. Palmetto Dunes is really accommodating to guests, we have stayed in Shipyard which is nice too. Palmetto Dunes has a shuttle service that runs some weeks - call ahead for that. Bring flashlights; a lot of the streets in PD are pitch dark at night, I think they don't like light pollution. It's also a short walk or bikeride to the PD amenities including the mini mart, the bike shop and kayak rental, and a wonderful golf course which we did not get to play because of the weather. Some of my favorite things on HHI: Old Oyster Factory - much better than that "famous" place Gullah Heritage Trail Tour - Hemp Shop !!!!!! (Hemp Seed and High Tide Beads) Mellow Mushroom Sunset at (Full) Moonrise - a once in a lifetime experience.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
