The cabin was beautiful. The only slight disappointment was the fact that the grill did not work (no propane) and the Hot Tub needed to have work done to it and the water was smelly and dirty (filters needed to be cleaned). I believe a firepit would be a nice touch to this property. Beside those very minor things we loved the area and views were wonderful. Great place to bring kids and let them explore. Rhonda, the owner, was very helpful and easy to work with. The cabin is very cozy and well stocked with all the comforts of home. The cabin was also very clean which was nice. Great place thank you Rhonda.

Owner response: Hi Joe, I'm so glad that you and your family enjoyed the cabin and that they had plenty to do while exploring the area. I wish you'd called me about the grill and hot tub. The grill has a propane line to it rather than a tank, so you only have to turn the propane line on to be able to use the grill. And the hot tub is especially upsetting to me. Anytime that things aren't exactly as they should be, I want to correct it. I have a wonderful housekeeper who would have come and serviced the hot tub for you. I'm not sure why it was not up to par, but I will be checking with her and the service company to make sure it is above reproach for future renters. I would love to have a firepit too, but rental cabins aren't allowed to in our covenants. However we can have a built-in outdoor fireplace, so I'm hoping to add that in the next year. Thanks again for choosing Mountain High and I hope you and your family will come back again soon! Rhonda

What an amazing view. My wife and I were thrilled with our long weekend in the mountains. The directions to the cabin were straight forward and easy to follow. It was easy unpacking and straight to relaxing. The cabin had all the comforts of home. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The gas on the grill is connected to the house and it started on the first click. The view is endless and we imagined how beautiful it must be during the fall as we relaxed in the hot tub.

Owner response: Thank you Daniel - I'm so glad that ya'll enjoyed your stay at Mountain High! We would love for you to visit us again in the fall. I do offer discounts to repeat guests, so will look for your reservation this summer for the great river activities or this fall for the beautiful changing of the leaves!

I tend to be skeptical of reviews, especially the ones that wax poetically about how glorious everything was. So let me just say: this is a wonderful, spacious, comfortable home. The thing I liked the most about it -- though everything was great -- was the screened-in porch extending out from the Great Room, allowing a seamless transition from inside to out without having to open doors or worry about insects, of which there weren't many anyway. The view of thick forests and beautiful landscapes is very satisfying, the kitchen fully-equipped and easy to cook in, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms spacious, the area peaceful. We enjoyed cooking on the grill, playing Scrabble on the set provided, spending hours on the back deck reading and talking. The owner was warm and attentive, eager to make us as comfortable as possible. I hope we can return soon.

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to get away for a few days and enjoy the Perseids meteor shower. It was far enough away from 'civilization' to have perfectly dark skies and the mountain scenery was beautiful. The cabin was spacious and very nice. It was clean and seemed almost new. Our kids would have loved the large basement and game room if they had been with us. Our phones did not have a signal, but the wi-fi connection worked flawlessly so people could reach us if they needed us. It is located on good roads and was easy to find. The circular drive right to the steps was a bonus for unloading, especially when you have a large telescope. With just a couple of steps up to the front door and two bedrooms and bathrooms on the main level, even someone with limited mobility would be able to enjoy their stay. I hope to be able to rent again in the near future and bring my elderly parents for a relaxing weekend. I can just picture them sitting in the rocking chairs on the screened porch enjoying a morning cup of coffee and the view. The only downside to staying there is having to leave when the weekend is over.

Excellent visit. The mattresses were wonderful, as well as the sat. TV. The description was very accurate. Owners overview or summary said to lock the door upon our departure and we could never figure how to lock the door. Everything else was great.

My family of 7 (kids age 16 to 18 month) had a wonderful time at your cabin! The cabin was plenty big and the kids loved the game room and hot tub. Everything was in the cabin we needed. It was a little away from the town, but we actually loved it. Thanks again for let us stay at your cabin!!

What a lovely, comfortable house! Everything about it was just right. We particularly enjoyed the screened porch and ate most of our meals out there. And how nice to have a hot tub with a view! The owner was very helpful and easy to work with. We definitely plan to be repeat renters.

Mountain High is a great place to stay. We visited in Jan. 2011 with our Golden Retriever. We all had a wonderful time. The house is very clean and really does have a wonderful wood aroma inside. It is well stocked and has a good layout. Each of the three bedrooms has its own private bathroom. The house is furnished nice and comfy. The king bed in the master was exceptionally comfortable, being the best night's sleep we've ever had away from home. The electric fireplace in the living room (while not having the ambience of a gas or wood fire) still really helps warm up the room quickly after coming in from hiking on a chilly day. The house is just as represented in the photos. We had never been to North Georgia before, but glad we chose to stay in the Blue Ridge area, as it is less commercial and feels much more quaint than some of the other nearby towns. Blue ridge is more dog friendly as well with many of the shops putting out water bowls, and dogs being welcome at many of the eateries with outdoor seating. Nice little park right in town also. Most important of all, you will not find a nicer person to rent from than Rhonda, the owner. She was happy to answer the many questions we had about the area, and sent us countless web links on local activities, restaurants, hiking trails, and wineries as well as personal suggestions. So Thank you again Rhonda, for being dog friendly so that our Golden could join us, and being so helpful in seeing to it that we had a great trip!

We rented Mountain High for three days before Thanksgiving in 2010. The pictures of the cabin are exactly what you get. The view is wonderful, and I understand you can see two states from the balcony. The cabin is nice and cozy. The kitchen, dining area, and family room are all part of the same vaulted space, so you can spend quality time with family while relaxing after a day of hiking or visiting the small towns in the area. Some cabins with basement bedrooms go "cheapie" and install "drop" ceilings (ceiling tiles), but the owners of Mountain High went the extra effort to put a real ceiling in the downstairs bedroom and bath and downstairs family room so you wouldn't feel like you were sleeping in a basement. The game room is the only part of the basement that does not have a "real" ceiling, but the owners left the joists exposed and painted the ceiling black. It's a game room, so it works. My kids loved the pool table and the video games. There's a alien shoot-em-up game and a multi-cade game with lost of arcade classics. Each of the three bedrooms has its own bath, and two of the bedrooms feature king beds, so it really is like having three master suites. Plus, there's a day bed and trundle bed in the downstairs family room, so you can easily sleep 8 people in the home. The furnishings were comfortable and pleasant, and we could see no signs of wear and tear although the cabin is at least five years old. It doesn't show its age, and the only way we knew it was that old was by reading the comments other guests wrote in the guestbook ;-). The hot tub works wonderfully, and you can set the exact temperature you want digitally. My boys loved to go swimming in the hot tub! There's a nice screened porch off of the family room, and it's even screened on the underside of the deck so no bugs will get in. Although we weren't there when bugs might be an issue, a screened porch is a must in Georgia in the summer. It makes it easy to enjoy our beautiful spring, summer, and fall evenings! The cabin's neighborhood is really large too. I went running one day, and I was able to get a full 60 minute run in by running all the way to the top, down each side road, and then back to the cabin. It's a great hill workout! Also, on a clear night with no moon, get ready for some serious star gazing! The owners are great. They followed up with several e-mails to see what info we needed and provided reviews of area restaurants and attractions.

Brought my son and his family here for a long weekend before his deployment at the end of the month. We wanted a nice, relaxing family time together and this cabin was perfect. Plenty of room for us to spread out, yet was cozy also. The pictures here really do not do the place justice and it still smells brand new (love the wood smell!) We spent a lot of time on the screened porch rocking and enjoying the view. I have a photo of the view that looks exactly like the photo here, but again, it's much more magnificient in person. My son and daughter-in-law loved the arcade games. There was a great selection of movies to watch, books, board games, hot tub, pool table...we never had a lack of things to do. We cooked in most meals and the kitchen was well stocked. Initial supply of paper products and garbage bags, etc was supplied. The drive up was easy, not steep roads at all, paved and well kept. There were cabins around ours but well spaced and with the tress, you couldn't see them so we had plenty of privacy. Rhonda was wonderful to work with. She accommodated us at the last minute (I initially contacted her less than 48 hours before we wanted to leave!), she answered my many questions, and even contacted me about items left behind. I cannot say enough great things about this cabin and the wonderful time we had. Thanks, Rhonda and we will visit again soon!
