  I highly recommend this rustic home in the hills of Piemonte---it is close to the Riviera, Genoa, Torino, The Barolo wine country, and France. What we liked best was the lack of the typical tourists in the area,,,you really feel and are treated as locals, as you shop in the local grocers, eat at the local pizzerias, and drive the beautiful roads of Piemonte. We find the wine and food of Piemonte to be vastly superior to both tuscany and France, and this was a perfect place for our large family to stay There are plenty of large bedrooms, 4 full bathroom/showers, and a HUGE dining room, family room, and country kitchen. Not to mention multiple picnic tables, outdoor seating, and panoramic views. The pool is great as well. Our hosts were the best part with Michael and Sonia being perfect in the roles==follow their lead for restaurants, shopping, etc. They really were very gracious and fixed any small issue immediatley As far as downsides, only a few. There really isnt any wifi, you must sit outside at a small picnic table 50 yards from the house. The hot water failed a few times, but our hosts fixed it quickly. And all the roads are very windy and foggy at night,, you really are in the country and not close to an autostrada. Overall this is a perfect setting if you have a large family or multiple people who want to share a great adventure in Piemonte. The price was fair, given the amenities, we paid around 450 euros a night, im not sure if i would have paid more though. Also, you must arrange a bank transfer into euros paid into the owners bank account, which was a hassle. We paid the balance in cash at the site, which i also feel is a bit difficult , it would be nicer if the payment was easier. I highly recommend Casa Buchere, and especially with Michael and Sonia as your hosts

  What a magical experience in beautiful Piemonte! The Hilltop views, the quiet, the large+comfortable home make for many memories for our party of 14! Evening wine tasting on the picnic tables, reading books on the outdoor chairs, strolling the lovely grounds-what wonderful memories. We of course mostly devoured and enjoyed regional food+nebbiolo grape! We will never forget the vitello tonnato, carne crudo & zabaione! To all that stay in this adorable area- bon vive!

  We had a great time at Bella Buchere, staying in the big house with three other families (19 people in total). The house is beautiful, well maintained, clean, and the area is very pretty. The management (Sonja and Michael) is also very friendly and helpful, all together making it a very enjoyable experience for us. Two thumbs up!

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  The house was even better than expected. Enough space for everbody, comfortable, clean and with a spectacular swimming pool . The rooms are charming with wonderful view over the mountains. The house keeper Sonja and Michael helped us with everything. All my friends and family enjoyed the stay and we hopefully come back.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

  We chose this house from may be 50 other candidates for our big family reunion - my future husband's Italian family, my family from Lithuania, my brothers family from France. The house is really beautiful and i a nice place. That's where the pluses finish. Arriving there you find out, that there is only a "keyholder", who gives the keys, but doesnt care about anything else. It tooks 4 hours to take missing sheets and towels (although their mistake to prepare beds for 9 when we are 10!). Then he says that his house is private and we cannot go there. Then we dare to ask for a barbecue and wood for the inside fireplace (in case it rains and gets colder). No wood, even if it was stated clearly that the price includes wood. The barbecue is not only completely rusty, but a super small one ment for 2 persons. We write an sms to Jane to whom we paid. She answers that we can use the barbecue area... so called... not even the dog managed to access it! Waist high grass, everything rotten and full of garbage. No barbecue so. We write to Jane asking to call us, because we do not like the situation to not have any person for the reference (what happens if we need extra sheet or towel? or medicine? or whatever). Jane does not call. Another "detail". In the house and on the internet you find information, that on wednesday there is a local market in Niella Belbo. Pitty that it is not so. Wednesday the market is in Ceva, and Niella Belbo - on Thursday... In general, even if the house was (ore used to be) very nice, now it is quite shabby, not very clean, nothing luxurious for sure and not worth the money! The swimming pool also... Forget about internet. there is none. Or to be sincere there is, but it is infront of the door of the "keyholder", which is a private abitation! If you want to experience real Italy, go to Italian owners, you will see what a hospitality culture they have, how they like to help you and to give you suggestions. Here we were left alone.
