We stayed in Eva's Building 18 number 120 unit during our May 2nd - 9th vacation. Well kept, clean and convenient to the Poipu Bay shops and restaurants.. Second floor is a plus; opened patio doors to take advantage of the natural air conditioning.

My husband and I are unfortunately finishing our 10 day visit to this magical spot in the universe, on April 22, 2012. Every moment of these days has been a comfortable retreat from the busyness and tumult of everyday life. The condo is light, bright, pleasingly decorated, and very quiet. The kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and dining/living room are all well equipped and spacious enough for us. Even better is the lanai/balcony, which is large enough to be like another room, open to the breezes, the gorgeous sunsets, and the night sky; the lounge chairs and smaller dining area overlook the beautiful, peaceful gardens, with great views of the ocean in all its glory. A one word summation would be "Serenity", though the condo is close to many amenities; we see and hear birds not traffic. I would definitely recommend this condo and this area for a time of beauty and renewal.

The condo was lovely, the grounds were wonderful, the people were friendly, the views and ambiance of the resort were spectacular. The snorkelling at Lawai Beach was unbelievable, and the trip to Niihau was amazing.... We also enjoyed the trip to McBryde Garden and exploring the area in early morning walks. This was our first trip to Kauai and Kiahuna Plantation was a great place to come to to become acclimated to Hawaii, and settle in before we travelled to other areas. The condo was very nice, clean and well maintained. There were ample supplies and everything we needed for cooking. I would recommend this property to anyone. We also really liked the Old Koloa Town for grocery shopping and the Fish Market for fresh fish. We had one evening out for dinner and we really enjoyed Roy's Bar and Grill... The canoe appetizer was delicious as was my Ginger Fusion Drink......

For a somewhat older property it was very nice. It was well maintained and very tastefully decorated. It was well stocked for people who want to cook meals (it could use some grilling utensils though). I would like to give it an excellent rating but can't due to excessive noise coming from outside. The building is too close to the street and cars were easily heard passing by but more importantly from 4:00 am on you could hear the roosters calling each other non stop. We only stayed 3 nights and probably would have gotten used to it and blocked it out as I'm sure the permanent residents do. We do not consider this the owners fault but it is still an issue for short term visitors that aren't heavy sleepers. We would stay at Kiahuna Plantation again but would look for something farther from the main road

Owner response:Mark I am sorry that you had a negative experience with the rental of our condo. Roosters are part of the scenery in Kauai, they are everywhere in the resort and Island and they remind you that you are in the tropics. I gather that the road noise bother you at night, you are probably are a very light sleeper I have not had any other complaints,as you say you probably would had got used to it. I will certainly will replace the grilling utensils we had some but sometimes guest don't bring them back from outdoors grill. Sorry that your experience was not as good as you hoped for. We care that our guest are satisfied.

My wife and I have stayed at the Kiahuna for seven years. This was our fifth year staying in Eva's condo. We simply love everything about the Kiahuna. Eva has added several upgrades since out stay last year--new tv, microwave, stove, refrigerator. If you are a tennis player, you will love the pro, Tom, and the hostess, Donna. Just give Donna a call and she will arrange a game for you. We are already looking forward to next year's stay at the Kiahuna. Mahalo Eva

The condo was perfect! We loved sitting on the lanai each morning with our breakfast. The kitchen had all the essentials, and we loved the openness of the unit compared to others we have stayed in. The bed was comfy, and so was the pull-out couch. Wish we didn't have to leave. Thank you so very much for allowing us to stay at your condo in paradise! Also, the description was accurate, the photos accurately depicted the unit's appearance, and the property was EXTREMELY well-kept. Owner was a great help all the way through! Go to Keoki's Paradise accross the street for a great dinner or to Whaler's for all your convenient store needs. Kalapaki Joe's was great for watching sports and happy hour fish tacos. I could go on and on. Thank you!

We went to Kauai in Dec 2011, and stayed at Eva's place for a week. We had a really great time, and this house was a great base for all our activities. The house is really cosily done up, and is very relaxing. We spent each morning on the Lanai and it was awesome - the grounds in front of the house are so beautiful. Also, we used the kitchen a lot during our stay, making figuring out food a lot more convenient throughout the whole trip. The kitchen was really well equipped with pots and utensils and a food processor etc. The only shame was there was no oil/spices/salt/sugar/etc, so we had to buy all those essentials ourselves. The house really is very nice and short walk from the beach, and that was really nice even though we weren't doing too much water stuff. We did a lot of hiking, driving all over the island, and Poipu made a decent base for our activities. Kapaa is probably more centrally located, but Poipu looked like a nicer place to be. cheers

My husband and I visited Kauai for the first time and were very impressed with the island, with Kiahuna Plantation and with this particular condo. It has a lovely layout, a beautiful lanai with a great view and is furnished with everything we needed to feel at home. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. We look forward to staying here again when we next come to Kauai.

My husband and I have stayed in several units at the Kiahuna over the years, and of all, yours is truly a gem, bright, airy, and such a relaxing place to come home to after a day enjoying the island. The condo is beautifully maintained, and your photography on the walls made it a very distinctive place. The condo is so peaceful overlooking the grounds, glimpsing the ocean from the balcony. We stayed in June/July, when the sun can get hot around mid-day, and the way the unit sits keeps shade on the balcony all day this time of year, which is a real boon. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in your Kiahuna home, and we are looking forward to returning to your wonderful retreat!

3 wonderful weeks in Kauai

We had 3 great weeks in Kauai this year (May 17 until 6/8). Your condo was perfect for it. Thank you for sharing it with us again. It has everything we need and is very conveniently located. This is the 5th time we have stayed at the Kiahuna and the 2nd time for your condo. We love it and hope to be able to come again next year or sooner. This time we had some thunder and lightning storms which we had never experienced before. That was exciting. I had never heard thunder that loud. Although we couldn't go to the beach that day, I still enjoyed it. We just altered our plans and went shopping. We had dinner at our usual favorites (Keokes, Brenneckes, Wrangler). This time we discovered Tide Pools in the Hyatt. It was excellent. For the most part we picked up poke and sushi from the Fish Market and Big Save in Koloa and ate in the condo. We were disppointed that the sushi buffet was closed in the Sheraton. We used to enjoy that on past trips. Our new experience this time was the stand up paddleboard. What a kick! That was so much fun and a full body workout. We were on the paddleboard for 2 hours and I really felt it in my arms and legs. It was great! Just had a wonderfuland relaxing 3 weeks on the beautiful island. Thanks again for sharing your home with us.

This condo is great value! The condo has everything you would need including hand soap, garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels. It is immaculate and on beautiful grounds. I don't think you could find nicer grounds anywhere. There is a huge orchid garden that is just incredible. The beach is never crowded and there are beach towels and chairs available for free right down at the beach. You don't have to carry anything down there. We even have a bit of an ocean view which we really enjoyed.

Tropical Vacation with our Newborn!

My wife and I took our 2 month old to Hawaii, and we had an absolutely fantastic time--largely because of this condo's setting. Proximity is key with an infant, and this condo has it. It's a short walk to the beach, but we took it slowly because the walk crossed one of the most beautifully manicured lawns I've ever seen. It was somehow both tranquil and thrilling to take my shoes off and glide my feet across the expanse of grass. Once at the beach, everything was right there. I quickly discovered this has one of the gentlest intro surf spots on the isle, with surf schools paddling out regularly right there. Walk left for an epic day hike along sandstone cliffs to exquisite remote beaches, walk right to the nearby point for picture perfect sunsets. My wife and I took turns watching the baby on the beach while the other swam or surfed. We saw lots of families on this beach. Back at the condo, very comfortable, modern yet tropical feel. We really loved the quiet coolness of the bedroom. It's slatted doors and windows kept it totally pitch dark while maintaining airflow. We and the baby slept soundly every night. We ate in almost every meal--the kitchen's got everything, including a blender. We blended up our own yummy tropical drinks nightly. We used those clean new outdoor gas grills at least 3 or 4 nights. A good half dozen restaurants in walking distance for the couple nights we didn't cook. Awesome. I'm already envisioning a return when my daughter can walk, so she can toddle across that lawn on her own.

We are enjoying several days at Kiahuna Plantation in Poipu as I write. What a great condo, what a great place. The condo itself is ideal, clean well furnished, and decorated with the owner's artistry. Our delight and appreciation for the art increased when we hike a nearby trail (Mahaulepu) and discovered several of the locations which were the source of the artistry. Snorkeling right in front of the condo has been good. Thursday morning we encountered a Monk Seal on the beach. Staff has been great too. Very helpful and available when necessary, but unseen, out of the way, and not imposing otherwise. Thank you Eva! Jim & Carol

Wonderful 2 weeks in Kauai

Mahalo for sharing your condo with us. We spent 2 wonderful weeks on Kauai this year and your unit was ideal for us. It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. This was our 5th trip to Kauai and our 4th time staying at Kiahuna Plantation, both of which we love. We have done most of the tourist activities (helicoptor ride, zodiac on the Napoli, tubing etc. in the past, so this time we just laid on the beach almost every day. Very relaxing. The biggest decision we made was where to eat--Keoki's, Brennecke's or the Wrangler in Waimea are our favorites. If we decided to eat in, we would go to the Fish Market in Koala Town for take out. Next year we will be contacting you again. Our hope is stay for 3 weeks.

Eva, thanks so much for letting us stay at your place. What a perfect little getaway we had at this peaceful spot. We especially loved: hanging out on the lanai (porch) sitting at the table enjoying the breeze and gazing at the ocean; strolling on the kiahuna grounds and spontaneously going down on the grass area by the beach and getting towels, chairs and enjoying the exciting waves (nothing like swimming in the ocean!) A really good location easy walking distance to the pool, restaurants (casablanca was our favorite) and poipu beach where our little one loved the protected water area. We also enjoyed your thoughtful and personal touches in the condo including the fully stocked kitchen (we love to cook) and your photos, particularly the magical shot of the ocean in the bedroom -- the perfect accompaniment to the sounds of the waves in the distance; Eva's condo = perfect condo at a great price; a magical vacation = priceless. Beautiful Condo!

What an amazing place! The location was perfect as it was quiet and relaxing - yet minutes away from the beach! We stayed at a couple of other condos at the plantation and although nice - non of them came close to this one. The decor was modern and charming. Very clean and comfortable. We were there at the end of July and even without air conditioning, it was nice and cool in the evenings and we were never too hot. The lanai was really big and we had other family members staying at a different resort who came over one evening and everyone had room to sit and relax on the lanai. It was just wonderful. We truly enjoyed our stay in Kauai and would highly recommend this condo. We will definately return to this exact one upon our return to Kauai. Thank you for making this family trip so much more comfortable and enjoyable!

Eva; We had a wonderful time at the Plantation. Your unit is modern, tastefully decorated, and extremely clean. The kitchen had everything we needed so there were no problems there. A good many of the people attending our gathering ended up in Bldg. 18 also, so that was an extra bonus. I hope we have futher gatherings at "The Plantation" and I hope to be able to stay in your unit again.

Hi Eva, We had a fantastic time on Kauai and enjoyed staying in your condo. The Condo was excellent, tastefully decorated, clean and had all the amenities for cooking a gourmet meal. Eating dinner on the lanai was extra special. The Kiahuna grounds are so beautiful and perfectly maintained. We were here for a wedding, most of the guests were staying in Kiahuna Plantation so we got see lots of other condos and our condo was by far the best. We are so happy that we made the decision to stay at 120 Kiahuna Plantation. This spacious interior and high ceilings of your lovely condo provided a perfectly relaxing home base for South and Westshore adventures on this beautiful island. We enjoy the kitchen to prepare a few quiet dinners in and every morning we took advantage of the lanai to start the the day with a breakfast with a view! Thanks for the convenient access to the beach..... Thank you for furnishing the condo so nicely.
