Our family takes a vacation every year and I can honestly say that this was the perfect place. The home was beautiful and the description of the house was accurate and the photos reflect the rental's appearance. The home was very clean and has everything you could think of, down to starch for your clothes. The owner was very nice and I thank her for sharing her home with us. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative. In closing, I recommended you go visit the fire museum, magnolia plantation and garden, beach, whirlin water amusement park and the south carolina aquarium all activities are minutes away.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: There is so much to see and do in the Charleston and Mount Pleasant area. Thank you for sharing your recommendations. The Fire Museum and Whirling Waters are new to us - we'll give them a try in the future. We love hearing ideas from renters on things to do. Inevitably we learn about wonderful new places. We'll add your ideas to the list we give to our renters. Thank you for your nice comments.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This was by far the best house that we have stayed in on any of our vacations at Wild Dunes. This house has everything you would ever need. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. It is located off of the main road but within walking distance of the beach. The pictures do not do it justice. I really appreciated the many brochures and magazines that were at the house to help us with our dining and shopping experiences. Your dining suggestions were very helpful also. I would recommend this house to anyone that wants a great place to stay in a great location. "It's About Time" is our new home away from home!!!! Thanks Again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Wild Dunes, Charleston, and the low country are magical places. After you enjoy the beaches, pools, sightseeing, touring, biodiversity, history, preservation, conservation, recreation, we want you to enjoy kicking back with friends and family in a comfortable, beautiful, and well-equipped home. Your satisfaction and happiness give us satisfaction and happiness. Thank you for your kind comments and thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience on VRBO.

It had been many years since our family had taken a trip all together and I can honestly say that there was not a more perfect place to take our trip. From the mornings on the back porch to the afternoons on the beach and the nights in Charleston. When you are here you feel like you have liv4d here your entire life and that this truly is your home away from home. The South is already a magical place and when you add an amazing house, a fabulous beach and a getaway city plus a couple of Michiganders what more could you want? We feel so blessed to have stayed here and have as much fun as we did. So, thank you! Thank you for letting us into yur magnificent home, and giving us a little piece of South Carolina.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had the "time of our lives" in your beautiful home. We found the resort had something for everyone to do across the age span. The kitchen had everything we needed for family meals (we enjoy cooking together) & the gresh seafood market was delicious. The history & charm of Charleston was breath-taking & "timeless." Thanks for a lovely vacation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This week was a week of celebration and your house was the perfect setting. It is stocked better than our own home! I love the tree by the kitchen table and enjoyed watching the wildlife. You are correct - it is all about time. I loved all the sayings. Time is also precious and time heals. Thanks for the great time!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: My husband and I grew up in the northeast and moved to California for a two year assignment for Xerox Corp. It's hard to believe after 25 years and some life and job changes, we're still here! But the east coast is in our blood and it's still 'home,' the place where we find most of our large extended family.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We came to Wild Dunes in May of 1999 along with other extended family members to celebrate our niece's graduation from the College of Charleston. There are places that speak to us and Wild Dunes, Charleston, and the low country spoke very clearly to our hearts. In the fall, we bought our home, fantasizing about the years of wonderful family vacations before our ultimate retirement. Fantasy does not always translate into reality but in this case reality was better. In my mind our Wild Dunes home is a 'happy house.' I feel it the moment I drive into Wild Dunes and walk into the house. Our entire family, including nieces and nephews and their spouses and children, have joined us at one time or other in Wild Dunes. We have such good times together, so many laughs, so many memories. So why this particular property? The house is open, airy, sunny. It's big enough for large gatherings, giving everyone enough space, yet also allowing a sense of closeness and intimacy. The front porch is sunny in the morning; the back porch in the evening. The street is mostly quiet and residential, adding to the 'homey' feel in the middle of a busy resort with all the amenities.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Charleston and the low country show a deep appreciation of their history and environment. Area artists and authors capture the love of biodiversity, preservation, and conservation. Experience it and feel it. And of course, it doesn't hurt that there are so many activities and so much fun to be had. You can observe the wildlife - 'Rocky' the raccoon lives in the tree outside our kitchen window. We feel privileged to see him in the daylight. We hold our breath when we see the small island deer so they won't gallop away. Our day isn't complete without turtle and alligator sightings, from a respectful distance, of course. There is more. The shopping, the touring, the boating, the biking, the beach, the restaurants, the history, culture; absolutely something for everyone. Experience it and love it too!
