Owner's Map of Mauna Kai
Hi,
I have been visiting Hawaii since 1984 and decided to make my family's dream of living in the islands a bit closer to reality by purchasing a home there in 2002. For now, we still live most of the year in Maryland near Washington, D.C., and we want to share our 2nd home in paradise with you.

We stayed here in for Memorial Day week and loved it! Everything you need is right here, we could walk down to the beach in the morning to look for shells and see the sunrise. There is any beach toy you could think of and a cooler. It was nice to have everyone with their own bathrooms and the separate entrance master was nice for privacy. The lanai is amazing, it is the best part, there is an outdoor sofa to lounge on and a huge table and chairs. There is a big BBQ by the pool, but it was nice to have the litlte one for when we did not want to go to the pool at night. I am planning our next trip out right now:)
Owner response:Dear Sasha, Thanks so much for your nice note. I am very happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay at No. 12 at Mauna Kai. I just wanted to note that we had to remove the small grill on the lanai as community rules require that all grilling be done by the Pavillion at the pool area. Thanks for your understanding. Bruce

This was a fantastic place to stay! There is plenty of space for a family and feels more like a home than a condo. The floor plan is great and the furnishings are nice. We really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen so that we could cook most of our meals and eat them on the porch. Loved the close proximity that we could walk to one beach but it was a short drive to others that were each breathtaking. This was my first time there and the listing was accurate and the property was very clean and well-maintained. I liked the suggestions for activities provided by the owner. Thank You So Much!!!! Will definitely come back.

We just returned from our stay at Mauna Kai 12 and heartily recommend this condo, especially for those of you with kids. We have 4 teens/young adults and we really didn't want to be crammed in a tiny condo. This place was great--our sons stayed in the secondary bedroom and our daughters stayed upstairs in the bedroom/loft area, while we were in the master bedroom with the separate entrance. The condo had an ample supply of beach towels, chairs, and sand toys, which was so helpful. We enjoyed the walk down the trail to the beach, although we found other beaches--Tunnels, Ke'e and Hanalei Bay-- that we preferred more. I would recommend opening up all the windows as soon as you arrive--it was pretty warm when we got there, but after opening the windows and turning on fans, we were quite comfortable. We spent a lot of time outdoors on the covered lanai, which was really like a second family room. The owner was helpful with any questions we had beforehand. I would recommend, if you haven't heard this already, making Costco your first stop after landing. We bought plenty of food,so we didn't have to go out to eat. When we did, we really enjoyed Bubba's and Polynesian Cafe--both of those are reasonably priced. All in all, this condo was a great value for the money and we would return again and recommend it to others.

We are back again this year, this time with friends who are enjoying staying in the 2nd master bedroom with its separate entrance. Thanks for the continual improvements you have made. Nice to see the new St. Regis and Westin hotels operating in Princeville, but we love the feel of your home.

This place was beautifully furnished and a real bargain. I've given this information to my daughter who would like to have her first wedding anniversary here.
