Excellent rental

This cottage was just perfect for our family getaway in October 2011. Our two young children loved their bedroom and the playground next door! The cottage is in great condition, cosy and well equipped. We loved walking to the downtown area and a bonus for us parents is that the children were able to play on a grass area in front of a waterfront restaurant while we relaxed with a drink! We would certainly recommend Beaufort and this cottage to other travellers. Thank you!

Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay Kelly. Come again? We would love to have you.

Lovely Cottage

I stayed in this cottage in July. It was tastefully decorated and wonderfully homey. It was much larger than it appears in the pictures. Sitting at the picture window watching the tidal marsh was so relaxing. The property is gorgeous with its huge oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. This is a great rental. You will not be disappointed!

Our stay at the little cottage was absolutely wonderful!!!! We have stayed in many condos in the Florida area and this by far was the best!!!! It was well-stocked with anything we could possibly need during our stay and Super clean (which is very important to us). The price was very reasonable and the owner could not have been more helpful during our stay! The town of Beaufort is a charming little place to visit!

Owner response:Thanks so much Judith. We enjoyed having you stay with us!! Laura

WE LOVED PINCKNEY COTTAGE!!!!!!!

There is nothing negative to say about this beautiful little cottage. We were in Beaufort for our grandson's graduation from Marine Boot Camp at Parris Island which was a very special occasion for us. There were five of us and the cottage was just perfect. It was great to have a comfy, cozy place to come back to after Family Day at the base and relax and visit with our family members and reflect on all we had experienced at the base. The house is so thoroughly furnished it is amazing. It was truly a home away from home for us. The weather was gorgeous so we were able to sit outside on the patio under the beautiful moss-covered live oak trees and hear children playing in the nearby park. The house is in a very safe neighborhood and just a few minutes from the base. Laura and Robert Achurch, the owners, live in a beautiful house, just behind the cottage, and were available for questions about the area. They couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. It was really a wonderful experience in all respects. It couldn't have been a more perfect five days. Thanks Laura and Robert for your wonderful hospitality. We look forward to visiting Beaufort again when we come down to visit friends and we'll definitely want to stay at the cottage again.

Owner response:It is such a pleasure to meet such nice, wonderful people from all over the world. Laura

Can't say enough about this wonderful place. It was all that we hoped for. For the last 10 years we have wintered outside Canada and have stayed in many places. This was one of the best. The house, the location, and the hosts were delightful. And the town of Beaufort was just exactly right. A small historic place with lots of safe places to walk, we particularly enjoyed our strolls into town through the beautiful Old Point. And we relished the voices of the children as they played in the adjacent park. Pinckney Cottage was just exactly like the pictures and all of the amenities and decor were just right. Imagine late afternoon on the patio under spreading live oaks listening to the cardinals and catching their brilliance as they moved through the tress. Doesn't get much better than this so we'll be back for a longer period next year. To Laura and Robert........many thanks. .

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Our family recently moved from Beaufort but returned to baptize our son this weekend -- we felt like Pinckney Cottage was our home away from home (even left me feeling less sad about having sold our home when we left). Our family with four children and the godparents comfortably enjoyed the home full time, and the three sets of grandparents that joined us for an evening of dinner and socializing really enjoyed this lovely home. I can't say enough about the size, setting, and care of Pinckney Cottage; the home and hostess Laura could not have pleased us more!

MARINE FAMILIES attending son or daughter's graduation from Parris Island: We stayed here from April 2-4, 2008 and had a wonderful time. It is a gorgeous and clean cottage, and Laura Achurch is wonderful to deal with. Laura made our stay nothing but great. She even offered to keep our luggage at the cottage and to allow our son to take a shower after graduation (that was awesome due to the fact he had to shower in boot camp with 80 some other recruits!). No hotel would allow this due to their check out times. We had relatives from Florida join us also. Do not hesitate to rent this cottage, as you will not regret it. The Short's - Michigan

We have traveled to Beaufort many times and were absolutely delighted with this VBRO. The cottage has been restored with great care and enhanced with tasteful fabrics and accessories. The rooms are comfortable and bright. The site is particularly nice- it's adjacent to a beautiful park, and with a large yard of its own. We entertained here, and our guests were equally charmed. The hosts were extremely likable and kind.

Our family traveled to Beaufort, SC to celebrate our middle son's Marine graduation from Parris Island boot camp on 4/27/2007. Laura is exceptional to work with - prompt, helpful, and funny! I was so impressed that we were able to meet in person - a nice added touch. The cottage (really it's a house!) was adorable and historic in its own right; you'll appreciate the significance once inside. There was tons of personal space, and by having a kitchen, it was tremendously convenient. There was nothing we lacked! Laura provides a clean and convenient place to rest your weary bones. You won't be sorry. Semper Fi!

Our family stayed in the Pinckney cottage for our sons graduation from Paris Island. It was a very exciting time for us and the cottage was just perfect and close to the base. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the owners were so nice to us. The area of Beaufort is so beautiful that we would all love to go back and stay in the Pinckney cottage again!

I was a bit nervous when my role was to book lodging for myself and four picky and judgmental female friends. No problem! We all loved the charm, the calm, and the terrific relaxed and responsive hosts. It's also in a perfect Beaufort location!

Four of us went to Beaufort for the wedding of two dear friends, We rented this lovely little cottage for a week and it is all that everyone says and more. What a lovely, comfortable, perfect haven after a busy day. The beds are beyond heavenly and the whole house is so comfortable. Laura is so nice!( she laughed at my jokes too). Should we get the chance I would love to stay in the cottage again. Heck, wish we'd never had to leave it. Thanks, Laura and Robert...you made a good vacation perfect.

Our family stayed in this wonderful cottage recently as we were visiting Beaufort for our son's P.I. graduation. It was very clean and had a lot of room for our family of 5. Very close to Parris Island, and a short walk to town. There is also a very nice park next door and a wonderful marina at the end of the road. All you can ask for and Laura and Bob are great to deal with. If we are in that area again, we will stay at Pickney Cottage again!!

August 16-18, 2006 Our family of 5 just spent a few days in this wonderful cottage while down for our son's Parris Island graduation. It was a very enjoyable vist, (although too short). The Pickney Cottage is very clean and cozy. Laura has everthing you need there. A convenient ride to Parris Island. I would stay there again if ever in the area. A great find. Thank you Laura!

This was a fantastic home!! We wished we could have stayed longer. There was everything we could have asked for at our disposal. My family stayed here for grandson's graduation from basic at Parris Island. Convenient to Base, restauraunts, shopping,CLEAN, beautiful, and room for extended family to come and hang out for a while. Robert and Laura have an excellent home and are pleasant and easy to do business with. I would stay here and recommend this home again in a heartbeat.

We recently rented this cottage for our son's Graduation from Parris Island. It was a very easy trip back and forth between the Island and the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay there, although it was short. The house is very comfortable and exactly as advertised! The owners were wonderful to work with, and very accomodating. The cottage was all equipped with everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable and worryfree as possible. We highly recommend staying in Pinckney Cottage! Thanks for sharing your cottage with us! The Nye's
