Haus Wussler, the modern guest house of our traditional Black Forest Farm of 1839, was built in 1992. It is located on a sunny plateau, surrounded by meadows and forests, with a splendid panoramic view of the Kinzig Valley/Black Forest.
Relax in the comfortably furnished holiday apartments ("4 Stars DTV" German Tourist Association 2009) with either balcony or terrace/front garden. We have apartments of different sizes and prices available. Please contact us for details, special offers and our personal web site address.
Haus Wussler is children and family-friendly. The playground and the various animals of the separate Black Forest Farm, such as cows and calves, little ponies, goats, rabbits, cats, our family dog "Bonni", chickens and ducks are waiting for our young guests.
But elderly people, singles and couples will spend a wonderful vacation here, too.
The garden and the barbecue-area as well as the large sun-terrace provide recreation in an idyllic location. Our home-made products and high-quality "Schnaps" from our distillery make a typical German country-side vacation perfect.
Especially our guests who are on a business trip enjoy the beautiful nature, the fresh air and the quiet after a hard working day and stressful conferences in air-conditioned offices or meetings at trade fairs.
If, however, they need to do some office work after their working day, our Office Service will be available for all kinds of office work, faxes, e-mails, translations etc.
Haus Wussler is only 3 kilometres away from the picturesque historic City of Gengenbach with a medieval town-centre, idyllic narrow streets, half-timbered houses, gates and towers, many shops and supermarkets, as well as traditional restaurants, inns, wine-taverns, and cafés.
There are facilities for wellness, sports and recreation, museums, cultural events, entertaining programs, concerts, wine fairs, traditional German celebrations and festivals. Join the night-watchman on his tour (May-Oct.), walk through the vineyards, enjoy the "Cultural Summer Festival" with music and theatre, visit the Christmas markets in December and the "Largest Advent Calendar of the World" in Gengenbach (Dec. 1st to Jan. 6th) or celebrate the "Fastnacht" (traditional carnival) in winter.

- Suitability
- Pet Friendly : Dogs are allowed only after prior information. Price: Euros 2.50 per dog/day.
- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations) : The apartment is not equipped especially for handicapped persons, but we had many guests who, for instance, had to use a wheel-chair and had no problems staying in that apartment.
- Wheelchair Accessible (may have limitations) : Most of the garden areas, meadows, BBQ site, playgrounds, forest, etc. have no steps or stairs and can be reached using a wheelchair. There are stairs in the guest house, but the apartment "Garden Terrace" can be entered through the door of the terrace, too (no steps).
- Kid Friendly : Many activities for children! They can help us feeding the farm-animals, watch life on a working farm, join us during the fruit harvest in autumn/fall, help in the garden, can ask many questions (which we will answer!), and - if they are interested - learn some German. One afternoon per week is reserved for the children. We will play typical German games, listen to fairy-tales, have a barbecue for children etc. (the programme depends on the season resp. weather). Special information for the parents: Europa Park Rust (Germany's largest theme park) is only 35 km away from Gengenbach.
- Smoking Allowed : Smoking is allowed on the balconies and terraces of the guest house and in the garden area.
- Smoking Not Allowed : The interior of the guest house and of the different holiday-apartments and the holiday house are non-smoking areas. Smoking as well as open light or fire, fireworks etc. next to the stables, barns and the farm-buildings is prohibited because of fire-prevention. Barbecue is allowed only at the barbecue site provided.

Just returned from a week's holiday at this lovely property. Barbara and Erwin made us feel like family and the apartment was perfect. We felt like we were part of the Gengenbach community, returning to our comfortable quiet apartment each night. Each morning we were awoken to the voluminous sounds of Black Forest bird songs. Barbara pointed us to a great cuckou clock shop so we could take a small piece of those beautiful songs home with us. The location is perfect for day trips all over the Black Forest, Basel Switzerland and southern France. Don't forget to stop for your daily batch of fresh baked bretzels! You will not find a better rental in this area and I highly recommend this property to everyone! Thanks for everything Barbara and Erwin. I hope you have a healthly pleasant summer.

We stayed at Haus Wussler for five days. Although we rented on short notice the owners were extemely easy to deal with and more than accomodating. The property is well maintained and fully equipt. The View from the front balcony was pure German countryside. We enjoyed it so much we hated to leave. We will recommend to family and friends and hope to return someday. Thank you for your hospitality!

The owners are very helpful about places to go, directions to the best grocery stores and Barbara speaks excellent English in order to communicate! the apartment was more than we expected and the rates are great. We were even given some chocolate and wine of the region on our arrival. We were able to travel to many surrounding communities in the black forest and even went to France from this location for the day. Thanks for such a wonderful time, Frau and Herr Wussler! I would recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in this area. We had to find the place in the dark and I would recommend trying to arrive in daylight, it would make it much easier. I would also recommend going to Gutach and riding on the rodelbahn, whether you had children or not. It was great fun! We went back a second time!

Our 11 days here were exactly as described and more. Barbara is very helpful, and the apartment/s are as described. We would recommend a holiday here, and may even return sometime. Minor criticism is that the banks take an inordinate amount of commission when transfering money - Barbara tells me she is thinking of Paypal. (PS Barbara also speaks perfect English)

We had a wonderful week long stay here in June. Barbara was so hospitable and the accomidations were exactly what she promised. When we arrived, there were beautiful, freshly cut flowers waiting for us in almost every room! There were also welcome treats for all of us, the dog included! Gengenbach is perfectly located to enable you to visit so much of the Black Forest and France. We all enjoyed our stay and would absolutley go back again! Thanks for a memorable week!

We stayed at the Haus Wussler over Memorial Day weekend. We truly enjoyed our visit to the Black Forest and the accomodations provided by the Wussler family. Our daughter loved the animals on the farm and the play area to get her energy out when we weren't out sightseeing. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and will recommend to our friends to stay with them should they visit the Black Forest area. Thank you for such a wonderful family trip.

Fantastic time! Sincere and welcolming hosts and being able to take Molly our dog with us was a really bonus. Relaxing and peaceful would suite all tastes. So much to see and do in the area or just spend the time relaxing. We can't wait to come back to Haus Wussler again with our family. Three words describe a vacation at Haus Wussler – Heaven on Earth. My husband and I just spent 10 wonderful days in the beautiful breath talking Black Forest. I did not want to leave and have promised I will return. Barbara and Erwin are wonderful people who go above and beyond to make sure your stay is more than you expected. Upon leaving I felt like I was leaving friends that I have known for years. Thank you is not enough for all they do. The apartment was perfect. The pictures on line do not do it justice. A big 'DANKE' to Barbara and Erwin who made our stay at 'Haus Wussler' very special. The flat was spotless and comfortable and the little personal touches were much appreciated: Fresh flowers on the table with Easter decorations; a huge basket of Easter eggs (and wine for the grown-ups!)on Easter Sunday and even a present for our daughter's 2nd birthday. The most thoughtful hosts you could wish for. Our daughter loved the farm and playing in the Gengenbach streams. A great place for toddlers - don't forget their wellies!
