We had a great time. The condo was exactly as advertised - clean, comfortable and and well stocked. It is in a great location close to town and peak 8. The ski-in access was great. The kids loved the outdoor pool and the access to bowling at One Ski Hill Place. If given the opportunity we would definitely rent this condo again!

Exactly what was promised

My family of 4 stayed in the condo from 18 Jan to 27 January 2012. The condo was perfect for our needs, offering ski-in capability (following Four o'clock to the gondola) and either shuttle (to Peak 9) or gondola access to the mountain. The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen. There is a supermarket with an extensive range of products within a 10 minute walk (or you can request the resort shuttle to transport you there, or anywhere else in Breck, for a tip). We did not have a car and found no need for one, with the gondola across the road and the resort shuttles on demand. The BEST aspect, however, was the full access to One Ski Hill Place, at the base of peak 8. While Mountain Thunder has adequate spa and gymnasium facilities, One Ski Hill Place has incredible faciIties, including indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam and indoor and outdoor spas. Also available for your use, at no charge, is their indoor bowling alley, media rooms and billiard room. Simply show your key at their reception and obtain a key for their facilities for the duration of your stay. If you wish to use the bowling alley or media rooms, these can be booked via reception at any of the affiliated resorts). We made extensive use of their facilities in the evenings and took the shuttle back to One Ski Hill Place when done. David and Diana were good communicators prior to our arrival and provided some good tips for the stay. If there was any weakness, I suppose I would have liked to have heard from them on or after our arrival to see if everything was ok. All in all, we had a really great time and would recommend this condo to others.

Diana and David are extrememly easy to work with - very prompt with all communications and they were great in providing information about the condo and the Breckenridge area. The condo was clean and spacious, had a well-stocked kitchen, and is located in a great lodge. Good location, too - close to the slopes but within walking distance of lots of restaurants, etc. The underground parking was a really nice amenity. And the price was very reasonable for all it had to offer. I highly recommend this property - absolutely the best/smoothest VRBO experience we've had!

The "off season" is a great time to visit Breckenridge, and your condo was a perfect place to stay. The location was conveniently accessible to everything, and it was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped. We especially enjoyed watching the last baseball game of the World Series on a huge TV screen while enjoying delicious food at Fatty's. We appreciated the smooth last-minute arrangements and the quick reply regarding 2 parking passes for the underground garage. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ACCOMMODATION!!

Great Condo in Breckenridge

We stayed at the Mountain Thunder Lodge for 8 nights. We enjoyed our stay. The condo has a great location - walking distance to shops/dining, local bus transfer station, grocery/liquor stores and hiking/biking/skiing trails. This condo is very comfortable and clean. For us travelers who enjoy eating in, the kitchen is nicely equipped. For the travelers who like to dine out, restaurants are steps away. The property hosts were easy and friendly to deal with. Bottom line - a great place to stay.

First Trip to Breckenridge

I loved staying in your condo with my parents on our first trip to Breckenridge. The condo itself was beautifully furnished and very comfortable, the facilities match any hotel. For those thinking of staying here, the proximity to downtown Breckenridge is a definite plus for this particular condo, you can walk to Main Street with dining and shopping in less than 5 minutes. Furthermore, for walking/ jogging/ cycling you are across the street from Blue River which provides a nice trail away from the traffic. Scenic hikes and drives are close at hand. David & Diana made the logistics of my trip very easy and were great hosts. I hope to return to Breckenridge soon and I will definite try to rent this condo again.

We stayed in the condo at Mtn Thunder Lodge and it was a wonderful experience. The condo was well appointed, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. If you do stay there be sure to visit the lodge up the street where you also have access... there's a super pool/sauna/hot tub there and they also have a bowling alley you can use.

David and Diana - We had such a wonderful visit to your condo! It exceeded our expectations in every way and we do intend to return for a much longer visit next summer. Our kids (8, 5 and 2) are still talking about our "mountain house"! We used some of your great suggestions for dining out but we also loved the convenience of being able to cook a few meals in. Everything we needed was in your kitchen! And, of course, we all LOVED the Fun Park (spent a full day 10-6 there)! Being able to walk to the gondola safely through the under-street tunnel was an added bonus! We rode the gondola every day we were there so the kids became veterans. Thank you again for the amazing hospitality!

This was our first trip to Colorado and we had a wonderful time. The condo was perfect for our family of 4 and very convienent to downtown Breckenridge. Relaxing time in Breckenridge

My husband and I stayed in David and Diana's Breckenridge condo in late July 2011. We really enjoyed the close proximity to both the Gondola and to downtown (walking distance to both). The condo is clean and well furnished. Our children really LOVED the outdoor pool. It was a great getaway for us all.

We enjoyed our stay at the Mountain Thunder Lodge. The Condo was fully equiped with most that you may need. Easy to walk to the town. Windows face the direction of town and one busy street so there is a little road noise when the windows are open, not noticable when closed. Gondala to One Ski Hill place free in summer about a 5 minute walk from condo (Can walk under the main road)

Magnificent Stay

This was our first-ever ski experience, and I must say that everything was fabulous! The condo is well located. Our family of four easily walked to town for shopping and restaurants. We were able to easily walk to the gondola each morning to ride to the base of peak 8 for our day of skiing. We also skied right to the back door each evening. The condo is very clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. David and Diana are the perfect hosts. They were extremely helpful and easy to work with in the reservation process, as well as giving helpful hints to the town and ski experience. I look forward to renting this property again!

This condo is simply great! It takes only a couple of minutes to walk to Main Street shopping, dining, the gondola and several hiking trails. The unit is very clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook in or grill out. The owners are friendly, organized and easy to work with. I plan on contacting them for future trips. It was a treat and pleasure staying there. There is so much to do in Breckenridge and the surrounding areas. I have been numerous times and this trip included a few new adventures; ziplining just outside of Vail and disc golf in Leadville and Frisco.

We stayed at the Studebaker’s Mountain Thunder property the week of February 13 – 22nd, 2010. The condo is very convenient and nicely equipped with everything you need to make it a home-away-from home. In the morning you can take the shuttle bus to the gondola. In the afternoon, you can ski right via the four-o’clock run to the back of Mountain Thunder Lodge and walk across the hall to the ski lockers. Evenings, you can walk or shuttle into town to experience Breckenridge’s lovely ambiance. The Studebaker’s are very responsive, organized and informative. I definitely will rent this property again.

Your condo was wonderful. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! While the men of my family took off for a day of skiing, I was able to sit on the balcony and watch the skiers head off toward the Gondala. Main Street was right there. I walked every morning to the bakery and shopped, had lunch and back to the condo. Every evening my family walked back to Main Street for dinner. Could not ask for a better location to be in Breckenridge. We can't wait to return and will once again stay in your lovely Mountain Thunder property. Thanks again.

This is our 6th year to come to Breckenridge in the fall, but it was our first time to stay in this condo. We had a fantastic time and absolutely loved this place. We just returned from a lovely one week stay at Davis and Diana's condo, and we have nothing but positive things to say. Ours was a summer stay so we took full advantage of the pool, hot tub and hiking trails right above the resort. We just visited for the 3rd time in 4 years. We love the condo - the view, the layout, the location so close to town, and now its great skiing location. We usually come in the fall, but this time we came in Jan to ski. We were so spoiled with the ski in and short walk to the gondola. We even used the shuttle service take us up to the Snowflake lift near peak 8 and over to the gondola on really cold days. We look forward to our next visit. David and Diana are so attentive and they make the place so enjoyable to visit. Its a great home away from home.

We come every year and this is the best location we have found. Ski to the back door, cross the street and the gondola is right there, or walk a few blocks and you are standing on Main Street. The condo was spotless, very comfortable, and the hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home. Thanks for the fantastic ski week.

We stayed Thanksgiving weekend. Wonderful condo with all the amenities. Beautiful views. Clean. Comfortable beds. Terrific staff will answer any questions you have. Fabulous skiing with 18-24 inches of fluffy snow during our stay. David and Diana are easy to work with, great communication via email and/or phone. Highly recommend Briar Rose Chop House....best Key Lime pie EVER. Excellent service, superb meal. Other restaurant recommendations include Relish, Hearthstone, and Swiss Haven (meat fondue entree) .

We recently stayed over Easter Break in David & Diana's condo and truly enjoyed our vaction. The condo was very clean and fully loaded with everything our family needed. It was in a perfect location to downtown Breckenridge, which we walked three blocks to every day. The views of the mountain from the condo balcony were breathtaking, to say the least. Our children loved the idea of skiing right to the back door of the Lodge and using the pool/hot tub after each ski day. My wife loved the idea of making a home cooked breakfast before a full day of skiing and having the convenience of coming back to the condo for a hearty lunch. Also, having the washer/dryer just down the hallway was a plus since we had alot of wet ski clothes every day. The front desk/reception people were very helpful when we needed to print out e-mails and boarding passes, and reserve movies for the kids. All in all it was a very wonderful vacation and completely stress free because of our stay in David & Diana's beautiful condo. David and DianaWe had a great time in the condo.The condo’s were very spacious, well furnished and comfortable.We especially liked the shuttle bus service, and the ski into the back door at the end of the day, as well as the pool and hot tubs – all things we do not have in France when skiing!!The condo was well located, and each night we ate out at a different restaurant (visited Bubba Gump twice, as the kids and us liked the atmosphere and food) using the shuttle to get there, then walked back after each meal.The skiing was awesome, and we liked the tree lined routes and absence of ice. Tried the Imperial chairlift and the great run down that side. We skied at Keystone one night, and that was a good first time experience of night ski.Only complaints were the extreme cold and wind on most days! David and Diana We had a great time in the condo. The condo’s were very spacious, well furnished and comfortable. We especially liked the shuttle bus service, and the ski into the back door at the end of the day, as well as the pool and hot tubs – all things we do not have in France when skiing!! The condo was well located, and each night we ate out at a different restaurant (visited Bubba Gump twice, as the kids and us liked the atmosphere and food) using the shuttle to get there, then walked back after each meal. The skiing was awesome, and we liked the tree lined routes and absence of ice. Tried the Imperial chairlift and the great run down that side. We skied at Keystone one night, and that was a good first time experience of night ski. Only complaints were the extreme cold and wind on most days! David and Diana, Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to vacation in your wonderful condo at Mountain Thunder Lodge, Breckenridge, Colorado. We had a great time. Your condo is very clean, cozy and extremely inviting. The location is perfect...just a short walk to the gondola, central station and downtown. The view from the balcony is awesome. We took pictures from the balcony and everyone commented on the great view. We felt right at home in your condo because of all the extras you leave for your guests. The staff at Mountain Thunder Lodge is very friendly and accommodating. You were absolutely the best to work with. We will definitely be calling you for our next trip to Breckenridge. David & Diana's place was immaculate and very cozy. The hot tubs were a plus and a great way to relax after hiking all day. The condo was perfectly located and was withing walking distance to downtown Breck.

David was very easy to work with in arranging the booking of his condo. We went up there with 2 young kids, 2 older children and 3 adults. This condo suited us perfectly! They even had a Pack n' Play and highchair for the baby, and pull out couch for the older boys. The condo was immaculate with all the basic necessities, and the hotel was gorgeous - in a prime location for walking to everything. They had FREE van service and the pools and 3 hot tubs were so much fun. Highly recommended!

You have a wonderful condo! As family vacations go, this is far and away the best place we have stayed, and that includes a fancy hotel in Santa Monica! We so enjoyed the fireplace in the evenings, and loved sitting down to family dinners and breakfasts at the table. The boys loved having their own room with a TV, and of course the pool and hot tub. We had many visits there. Thanks again for sharing your condo. We had a great time! -KM

Our family of four (two kids under 3) stayed in David and Diana's condo for seven days and had a wonderful experience. Not only was the condo clean, well furnished and comfortable, the property was great. The free shuttle service was fantastic, as was the evening cocktail service and hot tub. True ski-in property (like none other) and only a five minute walk to the new gondola. We will be sure to use the property again and give it our full recomendation to anyone - even the pickiest of renters. Thanks again David and Diana. The LeCompte Family

We rented this beautiful condo for 8 days. We were pleasantly surprised to find it as nice as it was and exactly as described. It provided ample space for a family of 5 - we especially liked the roomy bedrooms, large mater bathroom and the fully equipped kitchen. We loved the free shuttle service - we didn't need to move our car all week! We would definitely rent from David and Diana again - they were very accommodating and quick to respond when booking.
