Spring Break in the Caymans

Guest: Joe (North Mississippi)
Date of Stay: 03/10/12 Review Submitted: 03/23/12

We had a wonderful time staying at Conquered Fame for Spring Break. The house was exactly as the pictures show. Very clean and very open. Perfect views of the water and the reef. Agree with others that the snorkeling out the back door was some of the best on the island. Saw Rays (adult and young), lion fish, a green moray eel and fish of every descripion within sight of the house. Rum Point and Cayman Kai are both great and only minutes away. My son had fun knocking down coconuts and opening them for us for breakfast each day. This home is perfect for families.

What a place!

What a place to relax and enjoy the Carribean. My husband Joe and I went with another couple in December. We were looking for a low key quiet vacation and we found it at Conquered Fame. The snorkeling was great and the weather perfect. The house was cozy and had everything we needed. I can see it would also be a great place for family vacations. The house is roomy and the beach is right outside. It was a great stay.

T.J., Yes, we really loved staying at your lovely home. It was just what we were hoping for. The children enjoyed having a home on the beach for 2 weeks, and never had a shortage of things to do, from snorkeling, flying kites, digging up conch shells on the beach, or inspecting the wildlife in the tidal pools. They named the lizards living under the deck, and built a shelter, complete with a “flag” in the backyard with old palm leaves. We all enjoyed the Rum Point and Kaibo area, as well as a trip to the botanic garden, turtle farm, and a boat charter. Mostly, though, we enjoyed just spending time at the house. By the end of 2 weeks, we felt like locals, cooking up all kinds of new things, and visiting the Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning. No one wanted to go home. The bedroom lay-out worked out well for our family, giving everyone a bed, as well as some space for my husband and myself to relax in after the kids were asleep. (no one camped out in the living room) I have already recommended your home to another family who was interested in learning more about our awesome vacation! Thanks so much for the opportunity.

We loved this house and plan on returning next year. The house is perfect for families, high chair and pack 'n' play available, lots of games and books. We had fresh coconut water every day from the trees around the house (if you do not know how to chop a coconut, the landscaping crew will be more than happy to do that for you). Quiet area of the island, a nice relaxing get away. We can not wait to return.

Christmas in the Caymans

Guest: Wally (Blackduck, MN)
Date of Stay: 12/25/10 Review Submitted: 01/09/11

Our family wanted a warm Christmas instead of Northern Minnesota snow/cold one year, and we found a wonderful time in the Rum Point area at Conquered Fame. The best snorkeling we found was right in front of the house. The organization of keys/reservation was well done, no frustration at all. It is about a 45 minute drive from the airport and 30 minutes from a large grocery store, but you can get a lot of experience driving on the left side!!!! Good restaurants in the area, a small convenience store , post office, very friendly people and we felt very safe walking. The hustle/bustle is definitely in Georgetown/7 mile beach, but wow is it busy, not our style, so where we were was absolutely perfect. We liked the relaxation of the area, and if we wanted the night life/busy shopping etc, we could drive there, experience it and then retreat back to our solitude and beauty Conquered Fame had to offer.

Great Rum Point Get-a-Way

Guest: Leo (Austin, TX USA)
Date of Stay: 08/09/10 Review Submitted: 08/23/10

Great place to really enjoy Grand Cayman and Rum Point. We (four adults and two children) wanted to stay some place other than on Seven Mile Beach. We found this wonderful property and from the minute we drove up, we knew that we had made the right choice. Yes, George Town is 30 mins. away, but you'll see so much of the island that you would never see otherwise. The East End is a short drive away and of course Rum Point is even closer. The sandy beach is your "back yard" and the snorkeling is there 24/7. You should really consider this property for your next Grand Cayman adventure.

We have now made it home from Conquered Fame, and of course, we are missing it, and all of Grand Cayman already. Your home worked our for our families, perfect in every way. We enjoyed the location, the beach, the water, and all the amenities of the house. We found no better snorkeling on the island than right out the back door, and no more beautiful scenery for pictures, than right off the back deck. Spending our last few hours gazing over the ocean, towards the reef really captured our hearts, and made a lasting impression on all of us. We truly fell in love with the island. Thanks for opening your home for us, and sharing such a wonderful spot.

Truly paradise! With 8 adults sharing the house, we were comfortable, relaxed, and had every convenience we could ask for. Without a doubt, the location is the best on the island with beach side access to the tidal pool just out the back door, Rum Point just down the road, and quick drives to many fine dining establishments (Cayman style!). Our favorite activities were snorkeling, eating, snorkeling, enjoying cocktails, snorkeling, Red Sail cruises, snorkeling, touring and snorkeling. Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise. Loved it!

T. J.,Thank you so much for making our annual family vacation and first visit to Grand Cayman a WONDERFUL experience! Your rental home was FANTASTIC! The setup was perfect for our family and the location worked out wonderfully since the extended family members we were traveling with stayed right next to Kaibo yacht club giving us both waves/diving and beach/calm waters! The house provided all the essentials and comforts to make my family feel relaxed from the first day and we quickly realized we could roll out of bed, take a few steps onto your beach, and snorkel just another few yards to see stingrays, lobsters, and all sorts of amazing fish in crystal blue water! The advice and information you provided was also an excellent touch and I can’t thank you enough! We had a great time and I appreciate it tremendously! My wife has already informed me that we will be returning in the future and I will definitely keep your contact information!Thank you!Regards…Michaeldavid

We stayed at Conquered Fame May 31, 2009 through June 7, 2009. The house was perfect, setup perfectly for 2 families. It has everything you need, and the beach is spectacular. We enjoyed Rum Point, and Kaibo, at the end of the road. Very close to the house, and some fun activities. We definitely would recommend, and hopefully one day we can go back!

We stayed at Conquered Fame for 1 week in February and had a wonderful time. The house was very clean and comfortable. We had 2 families together for the week (4 adults and 5 kids) and the layout was perfect for this. We ate out quite a bit but we did also enjoy eating a few meals at the house which had all the equipment needed to make a meal. The snorkeling was good right in front of the house all the way to Rum Point.

It was a beautiful home located on a beautiful, private part of the Island. A rental car is a must. The recommendations made by the homeowners worked out perfectly. The house has all the amenities you need and a wonderful place to relax and/or hang out with friends. We enjoyed the neighboring restaurants and bars. I would definitely recommend this vacation home to others.

Our family just returned from 10 marvelous days at Conquered Fame... what a wonderful beach house. It is everything you said it was and more. Who would think the air and water temperatures would be 80+ degrees in January. The house was more than accomodating for all our needs (my wife and me, our 3 grown children and son-in-law). Everything was there for breakfast, lunch and dinner as we only ate out twice (lunch then dinner) and of course local Rum for frozen daquiris on the beach. And the beach and ocean... were fabulous for sunning and snorkeling and, we managed to get in 4 days of diving at Red Sail just down the road at Rum Point. The service at the dive shop was one of the better experiences we have had. We found your beach house by way of the web and a couple of emails and phone calls and I would recommend the rental to anyone who is looking for a quiet, private glorious sun and fun vacation. My children commented it was the best family vacation they ever had (and we have gone to a lot of places).

T.J., Our family had a wonderful visit to your home in Rum Point. We were able to enjoy the beach and water behind the house. Having the deck, parts of which were shaded during the day, provided a nice place for lunch. We used a whole bag of charcoal after cooking several meals on the grill. We really liked the house, and especially the location. Your suggestions were very helpful. We only ate out once as the food prices combined with the exchange rate made it difficult. However, with a full kitchen, we were able to cook with no problem. Continue to encourage people to load up on groceries at Hurley's. The kids loved the Turtle Farm. Other than seeing fish in the water, that was the highlight of the trip for them. Thanks for your help during the planning phase. All the best, Art W. We just returned from a fabulous, awesome 10 days at Conquered Fame! Your home is in a million-dollar setting -- what an incredible treat to wake up each morning and look out onto the gorgeous Caribbean! We sometimes ate breakfast wearing sunglasses because the sun was so gloriously bright. We loved being able to walk out the door and onto the beach and into the warm, clear sea. Our family found your home to be well-equipped, very comfortable, nicely decorated, and thoroughly clean upon our arrival. We loved the closeness to Rum Point and enjoyed many meals (and drinks) at the Wreck Bar. We had several dinners at Over the Edge restaurant -- terrific seafood at reasonable prices. We discovered the serenity of Starfish Point and spent our last early morning at this quiet spot. We did bring down frozen steaks, burgers, etc. It's OK to bring frozen meats into GC as long as it is in the original store wrapping with USDA seal. We packed them in an insulated bag and they were still frozen when we arrived. We had great weather; only one rainy day (Sun 7/20) -- a tropical storm coming from Jamaica and going to Cozumel came through GC with tons of rain! We were grateful to be in your spacious house rather than a cramped hotel room during this storm! Our family created many treasured memories on this vacation. Thanks so much for the Conquered Fame rental -- it was outstanding! Best, Carol

We stayed at Conquered Fame for a week in March 2008 and had a fantastic time. We have two young children (ages 4 and 2) and the location was perfect for us. We loved being so close to Rum Point Beach - the beach there is absolutely ideal for little kids, very calm and protected with good facilities - snack bar, picnic tables, showers, etc. The house was a great set up for two families - two equal sized master bedrooms and two additional bedrooms with twin/double beds - plus there was a pack and play at the house which was a bonus for us. The house was also very clean. We rented directly from the owners and they were fantastic to deal with - very responsive and nice. Having the beach and the ocean as our backyard was amazing - the views of the sunrise and the moon were magical. It was a perfect island getaway for us!

We recently rented Conquered Fame for our winter getaway. This was one of the best vacations we have taken, and Conquered Fame was a big part of that. All four bedrooms are nice, with the two facing the ocean being the nicest. The rental manager (Jim) and the on-island property manager (Georgia) were a pleasure to deal with. Jim was a wealth of information on Grand Cayman. The house itself is located half a mile east of Rum Point, with a nice beach immediately behind it. The snorkeling was great here too. We had 4 couples staying in the house. There are 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked. It was great to sit in the back sunroom looking at the water!!! We like the Rum Point area so much that we only headed over to Seven Mile Beach one day out of the week.

Successful Family Vacation At Coconut Beach

This was a wonderful home that accommodated all of our needs including a toddler bed. The beach here is a little rocky (coral) but Rum Point and Kibo Yacht Club are both close by and offer great swimming and ammenites. The pool is small but fine for cooling off. I would highly recommend a rental car as this area is a good distance from 7 mile beach area as well as grocery stores etc...however we loved the fact that it is a quiet and safe area.

My family of 6 (kids ages 8 thru 19) stayed in this charming beach home over New Years. The very comfortable home is beautifully decorated in cheerful colors and comes with everything needed. We spent many days at Rum Point beach, a short distance from the house beacause it has wonderful food (and even better drinks) and activities for all ages. The owners of the home were very pleasant and helpful in planning our family trip. I highly recommend vacationing at Conquered fame

If you are looking for an idyllic vacation go to Conquered Fame on the Grand Cayman. You could simply not get better. The house is located away from all the commercial craziness, on a beautiful, tranquil beach. The snorkeling on the reef is like swimming in an aquarium! You will have all the amenities you could wish for, and the house is meticulously clean. The owners were very helpful, and e-mailed a very useful guide when I made my reservation. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with. We just returned from our vacation yesterday, and I have already begun researching flights to go back! I will definitely stay at Conquered Fame again, there is not a single thing that I could complain about!!!!
