Our air-conditioned lanai provides a cozy comfortable place to enjoy entertaining, reading or whale watching even on hot afternoons, and is always the best spot to see the incredible Maui sunsets. Maui Kai 306 is one of the few condos at the Maui Kai that has had the partition removed between the living area and the lanai, increasing the living area dramatically and allowing guests to enjoy the views from the ocean-front lanai in air conditioned comfort. Or, throw open the wide lanai windows to feel the trade winds and hear the waves breaking on the beach below.
A comfortable, romantic, Tommy Bahamas king-size bed offers sleeping accommodations for two. Enjoy eating-in using our fully equipped kitchen, or the gas BBQs next to the cabana and pool.
WiFi and cable modem are provided for computer users.
The Bose stereo has an ipod/iphone connection.
Swim, surf, boogie board, snorkel and splash in the ocean on the beach below and adjacent to the condo. Enjoy the views from the lanai of sea turtles feeding in the waters, humpback whales (best time is from December through mid-April)and spinning dolphins.

We spent 11 nights here and cannot say enough about this beautiful condo. I admit, we were nervous booking so far in advance ( book early or you won't get in) and with people we didn't know but no worries at all! It is so obvious as soon as you walk thru the door that this condo was furnished with love and attention to every detail. A beautiful gift basket was waiting for us and instantly made us feel welcome, such a wonderful, thoughtful touch. We cannot honestly think of anything that could improve this condo. The view is spectacular , the furnishings comfortable and spotless, guides and books to help you around the island, toys and chairs for the beach, the kitchen outfitted right down to the smallest item if you felt like cooking. We felt like we were right at home. It was tastefully decorated with beautiful pictures and sculptures, there was a BBQ and a pool, honestly I could go on and on. Security deposit was refunded quickly . The only bad thing about this condo is having to leave. We can hardly wait to go back next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We had a great time in Maui. It was our first time here (and first time using VRBO.com), so we were apprehensive about finding a good place to stay... In the end, we were extremely glad we stayed in Ka'anapali, and we're especially glad we found this condo in particular. The bed is really comfortable, the place is well-furnished, and parking is plentiful. The view of the ocean is fantastic--it's a third floor view, and when you down from the lanai, the beach is right there. It's a studio, so it's not huge, but I wouldn't call it tiny, either. The enclosed lanai helps to make everything feel bigger, and it's the right size for a romantic stay for two. It's nice to have wifi internet access and also a fridge, stove, and microwave in the unit... access to laundry and a pool-side grill are useful (even if you only them once or twice). The owners are great--Dave and Cathy have invested a lot into the place and making guests feel comfortable and welcome. The entire process went pretty smoothly, and it was nice to not have to worry about the little details when you're on vacation. During our stay, we had a rental car and drove around the island a bit (e.g. Haleakala, road to Hana, exploring beaches). We took the boogie boards, beach towels, beach bags, and cooler from the activities closet and had a decent experience in big beach down by Wailea. For snorkeling, the Pacific Whale Foundation tour of Molokini and turtle town were good. But we found that you could have an fun snorkeling experience just grabbing the snorkel gear (also in the activities closet) and walking a few minutes south to Kahekili beach park--just past where the Westin... the coral starts very close to the beach, so you can see lots of fish and coral easily. Many of our evenings were spent in Lahaina, which is a very short drive away. There is a "Times" grocery store close by to Maui Kai, which is a great place to stop off for food, supplies, or even water shoes on your way to the rest of your days' activities. In short, we found this to be an ideal place to stay, and we'd definitely like to come back and rent from Dave and Cathy again in the future!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We were very pleased with our stay in suite 306 of the Maui Kai as we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Everything was as promised and more. The pictures did not do it justice. You just can't capture it on film. We felt very welcomed and at home, from the moment we opened the door and were greated by a lovely welcoming gift basket of local specialties, until we left 10 days later. Everything you could possibly need for a great retreat in Maui was available to us.... a well supplied kitchen with every utensil needed, a picket basket, beach towels, chairs and even flippers. One minor problem we had was taken care of by the local agent and Dave even called from California to make sure all was taken care of. The view was amazing and the sound of the wave was music to our ears. The enclosed lanai was a bonus and the glass doors were great at muffling the sound of the waves, which can get loud at times, but still allowed an unobstructed view of the ocean, Lanai and Molokai. We did the regular tourists things like the Road to Hana, Haleakala and Lahaina. We especially enjoyed browsing in Lahaina, and Hallowe'en night was really something to experience. It was like Maui Mardi Gras in October., I have never seen so many adults dressed up, tastefully and having good clean fun. It was a real community event. The Uncle Willie K show was worth the drive to Wailea, and the drive to the Blow holes was as daring as the road to Hana and the display was great the day we were there, the waves were really strong. Lahaina, Paia are great for browsing, and good shopping at Wailea, Lahaina and the Fisherman's Warf. But the best treat was buying food from the local farmers and producers on the side of the highway, from the Huli Huli Chicken to the Banana bread with Lilikoi dip. Our favourite restaurants were Dukes, just two resorts down the beach towards Lahaina, breakfast was great, and Honau and Nala just at the beginning of Front Street. Hopefully will we be able to return to Maui and 306 Maui Kai!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

For eight years, my husband and I celebrate his birthday in Maui. We stay at the best condos we can afford, and this one ranks at the top for quality. You can tell that Cathy and Dave purchased every item tastefully with consideration of your comfort and pleasure. They are presuming you are a sophisticated traveler and want your stay to feel as nice as your own home (or better). Basket of goodies to greet you... Name brand appliances and kitchenware... Posturepedic bed for a great night's sleep. Art and table sculpture in good taste. And don't forget the beach toys -- all included. This place feels like you're visiting a generous friend. They make it as simple as possible to get in and enjoy your vacation in the magic isle of Maui. That's why we come back every year, and will continue for years to come.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you over and over for the use of your Maui Kai 306 condo. I read many reviews about the beauty of it and how well thought of it was, but until we stepped foot into it did we realize the absolutely gorgeous condo you had provided. From the decor, to the views from the lanai, to the fabulous bed (which spoiled us), to the well-stocked and thought of kitchen, to the books you provided, and on and on ..... it was like a dream come true. My husband and I spend most of our vacations in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where we have found a condo that we feel was "just like home", but yours tops this over and over again. You have truly thought of everything that would make others feel welcomed and "at home". There is not one thing I would change and hope to one day visit again. We totally loved Maui as we had no doubt that we wouldn't. We actually saw some sea turtles from the lanai, but every morning we had bird visitors that would literally sit on top of the bread in your hand. We were married at Makena Cove and we couldn't have picked the most perfect place and will cherish every memory. Ever since we have been home I have thought over and over about our trip to keep it embedded in my brain and it only reinforces my desire to return again sooner than later. To have such gracious people to care so much about others as you have makes a trip like this .... 5000 miles from home .... one that will never be forgotten. You are truly wonderful people. First of all, as much as the pictures and write ups do this condo justice, it is nothing compared to how you feel when you walk in the door. We were literally floored by the fantastic ocean views and couldn't get enough of it during our stay. We came for our honeymoon and had previously been on Oahu for four nights and spent six nights here. The condo is very neat and tidy and we found it very clean and organized. It is located on the third floor of an older but still quite comfortable condominium and although it had elevators nearby, we often took the stairs as they were nearer. They were working on the elevators when we stayed but one looked like it was already switched out and the other one was a work in progress so they should have two new elevators shortly, if not already. The location is great - situated on the Kaanapali Beach (literally on it!) Although there is no beach to speak of in front of the condo, there is plenty a few steps over each side, in front of the other resorts and condos. We found snorkeling a bit disappointing around the condo but a short walk south, past the Honua Kai resort had some great snorkel spots and we saw lots of fish and a sea turtle there. The condo is perfectly located on the third floor so that you get the full ocean views but people walking up and down the beach below or on the sun lounger area of the condo can't look into the condo. Tour boats often sail past quite close to shore and we enjoyed seeing the different types of yacht come past each day. The owners, David and Cathy were great and had lots of tips and information for us to really enjoy our stay. David had let me know by email and on the phone and I found him very easy to deal with - he was so enthusiastic about the condo and the area, we couldn't wait to get there and see it ourselves. We only ate out at Kanapaali Beach Club and Honua Kai (Duke's) and both had decent food and were very close by. The rest of the time though, we just wanted to make our own food in the condo and enjoy it on the bistro set, looking out over the ocean as the sun went down. All in all, it is a fabulous condo and location and I hope we can go there again soon! We would definitely recommend this to anyone - it is a very comfortable condo in its own right and the fact the owners let you use some of their beach stuff is a huge help. There were some great beach chairs, snorkel equipment and coolers that we used most days.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed at Maui Kai 306 for 9 nights. We were in Maui for vacation and to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We found the location of the condo to be very convenient. There was plenty of parking for our rental car. It was close to grocery stores, a health food store, great snorkeling in Napili Bay, restaurants, and lively downtown Lahaina (Front street). The view from the condo was wonderful, the 3rd floor was perfect for looking at the ocean and viewing the incredible sunsets. The sound of the waves were incredibly comforting and lulled us to sleep (actually the sound took a day to get used to, it is that loud!). The condo is furnished with lovely comfortable furniture and a large temper pedic bed. The owners of Maui Kai 306 have included lots of extra amenities: a binder of information about restaurants and suggestions of places to go, literature on Maui, leisure reading, Hawaiian music cds, dvds, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel equipment, and a fully equipped kitchen. We used the TV and dvd player to watch the owner's helicopter tour of Maui- it was a wonderful virtual trip and it saved us some money! ;-) We were greeted the first day with a welcome basket of local goodies- a very nice personal touch! The pool across the way is nothing fancy like the one next door, however we enjoyed it and had it to ourselves (certainly that could not be said of the resort pool next door). The hot tub was wonderful to relax the tired sore muscles we had from snorkeling. The snorkeling directly in front of the condo is not terrific, however if you walk a short distance towards black rock (near Duke's restaurant), the snorkeling was actually quite good and there was easy access from a sandy beach. Although we typically chose to use the stairs as the condo is only on the 3rd floor, it should be noted that there was an elevator. We would definitely return and stay in this condo.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with an incredible view of the ocean! The condo is perfectly appointed with truly everything you need, including a mango slicer! There is a lovely TV with a DVD library, however we never even turned it on. Every morning we had bagels on the lanai and fell asleep to waves crashing on the shore. We never got to see the resident sea turtle but on our last morning we were treated the awesome acrobatics of a passing pod of whales. Who can ask for better entertainment?! We left a dining guide to add to your library. We found it very useful, maybe you will too. Honestly, if we would have brought the kids we would have never gone back home. We highly recommend your condo to anyone who will listen. We will gladly be back again in the future (not sure if we can wait a whole year though)!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I fell in love with the pictures and write-ups on this condo, and it was a dream-come-true when I finally arrived!!! You will NOT be disappointed. First of all, the bed is as comfortable as everyone has said it was, and the towels!!!! Fluffy white towels!!!! I felt like I was at the spa. You can't ask for a better view than what this condo has to offer. We spent every morning and evening on the lanai watching the whales cruise by in the ocean. Beautiful. Be sure to bring yourself a good pair of binoculars. You will not be disappointed. And the location is perfect... beach front, close to bus stop, scenic beach walk to Whaler's Village, great snorkeling, swimming, etc. The condo is well-stocked with beach chairs, towels (yes, those were fluffy too), coolers, etc. Plus, David was a pleasure to liase with leading up to, during, and after our stay. We will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The view was spectacular. The only issues we had were with the kitchen. The faucet on the sink was very loose and was difficult to turn off and on. Actually, the kitchen really needs updating. Other than that, the directions for checking in late (which we had to do) were not specific. We were afraid our car would be towed since we arrived after office hours. We found all the people associated with the condo were very helpful even though they were not involved with our rental. The owners and renters we met were very friendly, which made for a very pleasant stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
