This house was perfect for an extended family vacation to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. There is something about sitting on those Adirondack chairs, watching lobster boats rock in the waves and fishermen rowing skiffs back and forth to shore that leave the "real world" behind. The house was immaculate and well maintained. The owners thought of everything. We brought items for the kitchen that weren't needed because it's so well stocked with baking/cooking supplies. Outdoor activities we enjoyed close to the house were walking to the island at low tide, climbing on the rocks by the causeway, fishing, watching a seal, visiting art galleries and watching the harbor. At Schoodic Point, which is a short drive away, we watched the waves crash on the shore just before a storm. We drove out to Mount Desert Island a couple times, which takes a little over an hour, but it's well worth it. My family loved it - there were 7 adults and we were all quite comfortable. We all highly recommend it!
Owner response:We prepared our home for a vacation property with thoughts of what we would want if we were renting a home for ourselves. We have at times rented properties that were sadly lacking in amenities and we did our best to think of our guests needs.
