We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Young farmhouse. The owner has tastefully restored and decorated the house, so that you feel as if you are in your own home. The memorabilia from the farmhouse, which is displayed throughout the home, is interesting and merges the visitor into the history of the farmhouse. The house is exceptionally clean and the kitchen is a delight to work in.The farm is located in an idyllic spot, as Corea is pure Downeast, ME. It is a perfect spot to relax and watch the lobster boats come and go, and it is wonderful walking territory. The sunsets, viewed from the farmhouse's deck, are stunning. We brought our golden retriever with us on vacation, and he was as relaxed as we were, once he got used to the seagulls in the yard! We have been coming to this part of Maine for over 20 years and this location is ideal. We enjoyed eating at Chester Pike's and Jordan's, both on route 1. Cooking lobsters at the house, which we did 3 times, is convenient and easy. We had internet access problems at the start of our stay and the owner was immediately helpful in resolving the problem.

Owner response: Making people feel as comfortable as if in their own home is something we strive for. And for dogs too! We had guests stay this summer with their adult children who said that our Corea farmhouse made wonderful memories. We hope that happens with all of our guests!
Gorgeous Area, Comfortable and Immaculate
Gorgeous Area, Comfortable and Immaculate
I just returned from a trip to lovely Young Farmhouse in Corea, and wanted to share my family's wonderful time there. I went with my husband and two children, and my brother's family flew in, as well as our parents. So needless to say, a lot was riding on the house that I had rented. I am delighted to say, it met or exceeded all expectations. First of all, it was truly immaculate, which I was so happy to see. And the owners have thought of everything when it came to stocking the kitchen, or information about the area, or anything else a family away in a new place for the week may need. In fact, there were a few times we needed something random and would make bets about whether or not we'd find an obscure kitchen implement, or something like that, and we always found it! The area of Downeast Maine is full of lovely working harbors, one of which is right outside the house. It was fun to watch the lobster boats come in in the afternoon, and even more fun to buy cheap lobsters right off the boat. There is also a beach down the street, accessible by woodsy trail, that my kids loved digging in at low tide, as well as going out to the little island out there that you could only get out to at low tide (and had to get back from before tide came back in!) Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert island is an hour and fifteen minute drive away, and we went a few times, it was spectacular as well, worth a couple day trips. There is just so much natural beauty in the area, it is a perfect place to go to enjoy being outside. If you want exciting nightlife, I wouldn't say this is the place for you, but if you want quality family time, exploring the beautiful outdoors with the kids, and taking things a lot slower than your usual day to day routine, there is no better launching pad than in this lovely, cozy farmhouse.

This house was perfect for an extended family vacation to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. There is something about sitting on those Adirondack chairs, watching lobster boats rock in the waves and fishermen rowing skiffs back and forth to shore that leave the "real world" behind. The house was immaculate and well maintained. The owners thought of everything. We brought items for the kitchen that weren't needed because it's so well stocked with baking/cooking supplies. Outdoor activities we enjoyed close to the house were walking to the island at low tide, climbing on the rocks by the causeway, fishing, watching a seal, visiting art galleries and watching the harbor. At Schoodic Point, which is a short drive away, we watched the waves crash on the shore just before a storm. We drove out to Mount Desert Island a couple times, which takes a little over an hour, but it's well worth it. My family loved it - there were 7 adults and we were all quite comfortable. We all highly recommend it!

Owner response: We prepared our home for a vacation property with thoughts of what we would want if we were renting a home for ourselves. We have at times rented properties that were sadly lacking in amenities and we did our best to think of our guests needs. Receiving positive responses from our guests means that we have accomplished our goal. Thank you!
