Location: Oak Shores, Lake Nacimiento, Central Coast, California, USA (25 miles from Paso Robles; 40 miles from Heast Castle)
Accommodations: Lake Home, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 10-14)
Lake Nacimiento, considered one of California's "premier" water-skiing lakes, is centrally located between San Francisco and Los Angeles and is a 16 mile lake which boasts 165 miles of coves and inlets lined with towering pines, shady oaks, and grassy slopes. The lake is perfect for all recreational water-sports and leisure activities, and is famous for its great White Bass fishing.
Located in gated community, this home features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, eight beds, spacious family room, and porch with gas grill. This is a two-story, 1800 square foot house located directly on one of California's most beautiful lakes, Lake Nacimiento. It is comfortably furnished and equipped with washer and dryer, full kitchen, air conditioning/heat, and 4000 BTU barbecue. Amenities made available by the gated community, Oak Shores, include mini golf, basketball courts, and swimming pool. Also available at Lake Nacimiento are ski boat, variety of ski equipment, tow tubes, and two Honda Seadoos.
Please click on "view calendar" to confirm what dates are available, noting that we update the calendar daily, therefore, if the dates are available on the calendar, they are available [subject to prior requests for use that have not been concluded]. Also, rates are outlined below and the best way to inquire about the property and/or to reserve use is by sending an e-mail to the owner.
Please also note that Lake Nacimiento is used by the County of Monterey as a reservoir, therefore, the lake level does fluctuate - depending on rain the months before and work being done at the damn, the water in the inlet below the home resedes and may not be visible from the home, but is still accessible on foot. Regardless, the lake has very large coves that usually have great areas to ski and day camp. Also, the dock in the picture does not belong to this home, and may not be used to tie up - tie downs are in the inlet, and water vehicles can be beached for easy access to the home. A private dock is available for $125/week, upon request. Also, Oak Shores Community Association assesses fees for water vehicles brought through the gate - this is not within the owners control - these fees have changed over the years, but are currently at $25/day/water vehicle, or $125/week/water vehicle; there may also be a permit fee for use of the lake charged by Monterey County - that fee is believed to be $5/day/water vehicle, or $75 per season/year. These fees are in addition to the fees paid to owner.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1995
My wife Lynda and I are both "city folk", having grown up in the Los Angeles area. We have travelled and camped extensively with our 4 children, concentrating on areas that have water - Lake Powell in the summer, Park City in the winter. We have always enjoyed the outdoors, even though we seem to never get enough of it. Nature, and what nature has to offer, seems to be the center of life on earth.
Why the Owner Chose Oak Shores
My wife Lynda and I have always loved the water, and a nice natural bridge doesn't hurt either! But at Lake Nacimiento, we found the attributes of a water environment along with a safe and vibrant community. Being near the water is always calming, even when the water activities are nothing more than sheer fun and excitement. We found that in several places, Oak Shores being one of them.
The Unique Benefits of this Lake Home
The solice of sitting out on the porch and hearing the woodpecker and birds doing "their thing", and seeing a group of deer go by, just provides the solice one needs to enjoy the day. The availability of a superb water skiing lake, allowing you to camp in some areas for the day, is just a plus.
