The Stencil House is conveniently located in Highlands, North Carolina, only two and a half miles from Main Street. Come enjoy the tranquility, fresh mountain air and a glimpse of wildlife that only a mountain vacation can offer. At an elevation of 4118' you can enjoy summertime temperatures that average in the mid-70's. One and a half hours from Asheville and South Carolina and just two and a half hours from the Atlanta Airport.
See firsthand the quality and craftmanship that goes into a home cutom built by GKP Construction, who specializes in custom built homes, vacation homes, and log cabins. This cabin was completed in September 2005 and features an open floor plan with 20 foot high ceilings in the living room, with one wall covered in double bark edge siding for a very rustic flare. Tongue and groove pine ceilings and wainscoting, and cherry hardwood flooring throughout. Kitchen has maple cabinetry and beautiful granite countertops. Eat-in counter area has three hand-crafted log stools which are covered in suede and leather. Dining room seats four at the whitewashed antique table with chairs covered in tapestry. All rooms have been professionally decorated with antiques and oriental rugs, the accommodations are fully furnished and well appointed, all with your comfort in mind.
All rooms have been hand painted with stencils by a local artist. The living room has a spectacular mountain view and a cozy gas fireplace. Sliding glass door opens to a private deck where you can relax in the hot tub and take in the serene mountain view on the outside covered deck or curl up in one of the four large comfy rocking chairs. There is also a open deck for sunbathing. Both bedrooms are generously sized and have king-size beds with a mountain view. Both bedrooms have their own full size baths. First floor bath has shower stall, upstairs bedroom has shower/tub combo and a large walk-in closet.

On Season - May 01-Oct 31: 4 Person Occupancy: $279/night, $1603/week, $3000/mo.
Off Season - Nov 01-Apr 30: 4 Person Occupancy: $249/night, $1463/week, $2800/mo.
2 Person Occupancy: On Season, from $189/night, Off Season: from $159/night.
50% Deposit required to secure reservation. Balance due 5 days before arrival.
2 night minimum stay, EXCEPT all holidays - 3 night minimum.
10.75% Sales & Occupancy Tax. Credit card or cash only at time of check-in.

The Stencil House was built approximately 5 years ago by our construction company, GKP Construction. We are custom home builders holding a Unlimited Building license. When you stay at our rental you will be able to see first hand the quality and workmanship that goes into a home we have built.
Why the Owner Chose Highlands
We believed there was a need in the rental market for a quality home at a reasonable price. It is conveniently located just 2 1/2 miles from Main Street, yet is set in a rural setting.
