Great location for a quilting retreat. The Shasta Ranch Lodge was perfect for our tenth annual quilt retreat. There were seven of us and the great room is large enough to accommodate portable tables for our sewing machines, ironing boards and cutting stations. The bedrooms are very comfortable and situated away from the great room so quilters who stayed up late or started early didn't disturb those sleeping. The view of the meadow and creek from the great room is very relaxing. We are looking forward to going back next year.

It was a fantastic family vacation! We had a great time!! Family from the bay area and Oregon met at the house and we couldn't have asked for a better place. Before we left everyone asked same time, same place next year? There was plenty of room for people to spread out but we could also all sit around and visit too. Thanks again for sharing this wonderful house in a great location!

We all had a great time! We met family at Shasta Ranch Lodge and we all had a great time. The younger kids loved all the space in the yard and the creek, the teenagers loved the pool table, Nana loved the fireplace,and the guys loved the big flat screen TV. I really appreciated the fact that we had plenty of room, the house was very clean and the kitchen had plenty of pots, plates, etc which enabled us to easily prepare food- while watching the kids out the window!

wonderland for sure first of all the home was so wonderfully decorated the wall art is awesome so much to take in the home is huge plenty of room for 4-5 couples completely furnished even laundry detergent, my wife and i stayed in the downstairs cottage it was very warm and cozy even stocked with firewood all in all it was so fun we asked to rent it for one more night making it a total of 8 nights, by the way mike was nice enough to discount our last night to make it a totally awesome experience... already making plans for the summer to return thanks mike, D. A great space for family and friends The house was terrific! Lots of sleeping space and plenty of room for both rambunctious kids and adults seeking quiet. It was minutes away from town, skiing and sledding. Our 4-H club made the trip into an outdoor adventure event and the house allowed all of us (including those housed elsewhere)to gather for breakfast and dinner. The place was spotless; plenty of cookware. The best part was the owner's thoughtfulness in retrieving a much beloved item we'd left behind. Definitely, a great place.

Spacious and comfortable! This is a beautiful rustic lodge with plenty of space for relaxing, playing games, chatting, etc. It was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the easy access to town, snow, and ice skating, and the knowledge that we could call the owner if we had problems. Any negatives are minor: the generally well-stocked kitchen had lost its corkscrew and the dishwasher would run until it was manually stopped. For a group our size, a bed in the middle room downstairs would be a nice upgrade. All in all, two thumbs up--and we may return for a summer visit!

Home Away from Home The Lodge couldn't be a better place for gatherings of family or friends. While the Mt Shasta area beckons with many outdoor adventure opportunities, coming "home" to the Lodge offered us our typical dining and home activities in the evenings and early mornings. Lots of care has been given by the owners to make this home comfortably rich with atmosphere, cleanliness and spaciousness. We are returning guests at the Lodge and will continue to do so as time permits.

pleasant Get Away The house is very comfortable and accommodated the 8 of us very well. The setting is beautiful--quiet, with lovely views of the meadow and creek. We went hiking near Castle Lake, so the house was very convenient. It was a great place to relax with friends and play games. The only thing that would have made it nicer would have been to have more wine glasses--we could only find three, whereas there were numerous beer mugs.

Absolutely Perfect My friends and I stayed at this lovely home for four wonderful days while we took in the majestic beauty of Mt. Shasta and caught up with one another. We could not have picked a more perfect place. It is very private and is equipped with everything you need. The interior is beautiful and the property is stunning. I visit the area almost every year and now have a new favorite place to stay.

Wonderful Vacation!!! Fun for all!! True Beauty!! What a wonderful place for friends and family to gather. The location is wonderful so much to do. Golfing, swimming, fishing, rafting, hiking and sight-see... As nice as the location is the home it is just beautiful and well equipped and comfortable for one and all. We had a great time playing pool. We cant wait to return and stay longer next time.

Very Nice, Quiet Place to Relax & Enjoy Nature Our family spent five nights at the lodge. We had a great time enjoying the barbecues and dinners on the deck nightly. The lodge is surrounded by trees and very private since it sits on a very large property. The lodge is conveniently located since the lakes are nearby as well as the stores. It has all the amenities and comfort of home. We also enjoyed the pool table nightly. Only one regret that the back of the property was neglected i.e. the wild grass and trees were not trimmed. We'd love to hang around and enjoy the creek which runs through the back of the property but the grass and shrubs were overgrown and not trimmed which rendered walking difficult. Also, the other thing we disliked was the cleaning that we had to do when we left (one load of laundry, taking out the trash, putting everything back, set the thermostat etc...) Overall it's a great place to stay and relax and the owner was very nice and gracious. On the day we arrived, we received complimentary snacks and a welcome note. I'd recommend for anyone that enjoys nature, peace, tranquility and beautiful scenery.

Nature's Paradise. Our three-generation family of 11 stayed here for one week. The spacious home allowed for everyone to have their own space. The "children's corner" was a magnet for the grandchildren. We had great fun imagining we were pirates down by the stream. We also enjoyed Lake Siskiyou--so close by. Also the McCloud River hike to the falls--magnificent! We needed the modern wi-fi internet connection--very convenient. We also needed the air conditioning--and it worked very well. The view from the kitchen and the deck was an escape in itself. A great time was had by all.

Mike was great, very attentive and actually answers his cell phone! The house is great, plenty of room, great linens, amenities, view, location, I could go on! I also must mention that for the price this is a great value!

Birds singing in the trees above; Fish meandering in the stream below; The scent of the fresh mountain air; All coalesce in total relaxation. The Lodge is spacious, clean, well equipped and supplied. With a big screen television, a pool table, a big box of toys, bookcases full of reading material and videos, both adults and kids will find much to do inside. Outside, the meadow and stream provide another interesting adventure. The close proximity to Mt. Shasta City is very convenient Nothing has been left to chance. It is all there. The cooks will like the spacious kitchen and dining table and the BBQ on the deck. The deck with its swing and eating area was a favorite place in the cool mornings and balmy evenings. The is a great place for fun, relaxation and indoor and outdoor activities.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

"I've never liked these questions." The lodge is outstanding, particularly for a large family gathering. Much attention has been given to providing all the amenities for various generations. The lodge is perfectly comfortable. Our young grandchildren, ages 3-12, did not spend as much time as we had hoped in the meadow. In part this is due to the contouring and difficulty for them in navigating the terrain. Grandpa contributes his only suggestion that the skylight in the master suite be removed/dimmed. Grandma asks whether it is necessary in the darkened winter skies. We would surely consider you for a return visit, although if we don't book it in the next few years, it is due to wanting to expose the GCs to different environments. Awesome Place To Stay We had so much fun. We will defiantly be coming back. We had a very large group of people and it did not seem like we were all cramped up in one house. Each person had there own space and then we could still come together as a family. They have thought of everything and more. We were there a week and still did not get a chance to check out everything. Our favorite place was the back deck to eat breakfast in the morning and drink hot cocoa at night. The views from the back deck are breath taking, you never want to leave. We can tell you have put lots of though into every detail and it shows. I will be recommending this location to everyone who wants to go on vacation and we will be staying here every time we come up visit.

the home and property are beautiful peaceful This is a beautiful peaceful very lovely home. fully equipped for a nice dinner to a full Thanksgiving dinner. I was surprised all you need is to bring food.When we were their it even had flour sugar a few spices,oil enough to make say cookies the only thing we didn't find was cookie sheets. The views are very nice a huge field, pond, So cozy in winter as well as summer perfect.Great game room and t.v room down stairs with movies for the kids games, pool table, A huge book case full of books to read. and you feel like your way out in the woods. But really you can be in Mt Shasta in just a few mins maybe 10 or less to the market. Or if you don't want to cook lots of great places to eat. I must say you should try the Seven sons in town for soup and a sandwich it was a real treat we ate their almost every lunch.You should call ahead they will have it all ready for you. to take. their is really nice skiing on Mt Shasta Lakes to go to and play in in the summer. but we like to just enjoy the home and relax when we go. so bring the whole family and have fun it is a huge house and you will love it I think

Great Quilting Retreat! Shasta Ranch Lodge is an absolutely beautiful place to have our quilting retreats. We come twice a year and love it every time. The accommodations are wonderful. Plenty of room for everyone and very clean. The location is terrific as you are within a couple of minutes of downtown Mt. Shasta, yet feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere. Our quilting group recommends this lodge as a great place to stay with a group if you want to have a wonderful getaway!

Best Vacation Rental Ever!! Our Vacation at the Shasta Ranch Lodge was a after Christmas Present to our whole family! Best Gift we Have EVER given! There was quite a group of us with 3 children included... We all had a wonderful time! There is not one thing that we did not enjoy about our vacation at the Shasta Ranch Lodge!! This was by far the best Vacation Rental we have ever rented....and we have rented a few! We have recommended this to our friends and family. HALFWAY POINT WE HAD A HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME TO ATTEND AND GRANDMA CAME DOWN FROM ROSEBURG, OREGON. IT POURED THE NIGHT OF THE GAME, BUT WE CAME HOME TO A FIRE IN THE FIREPLACE. The Willeys and the Henningers stayed here for 10 nights and had a wonderful time. Everything was as advertised only better. We wanted for nothing. Found quiet, secluded and well kept grounds. Great for two families! We spent a wonderful 5 days at the Shasta Ranch Lodge last August. We'd definitely recommend this house! Everything was in order when we arrived, and we were greeted with music, fresh flowers and a bowl of snacks! It was perfect for 2 families: large table that seated us all, lots of space in the living room and kitchen to gather, but also, privacy if you wanted it (the downstairs has its own little apartment). There's a nice porch outside for grilling and eating, and the house overlooks a pretty meadow with a creek running through it...plenty of room for kids to run and play! Inside, there's a pool table and a card table downstairs, and the teenagers loved to hang out there! Lots of hiking and sightseeing in the area....we had a great time!

Excellent Mt. Shasta base for a large group Our water quality crew frequently visits Siskiyou County for Shasta, Scott River, and Klamath water quality protection and improvement efforts, and have stayed in several Shasta vacation rentals. This house is one of best we have stayed at, with an excellent setting, beautiful views, great kitchen, common areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms; it worked well for the five staff staying over, served as a great place to host dinner guests and business meetings, and a good base for trips around Mt. Shasta and down into the Shasta River valley. We just loved it, and look forward to staying here again in the future. Thanks! :)

Excellent house for group gatherings Shasta Ranch Lodge is the perfect getaway for group gatherings. The location and setting are just as nice as the house itself. Since our stay was over a hear ago, I can not recall all the details about the rental experience other than it went very smoothly. As a word of advice, this house will need constant repairs because of the large number of visitors it receives. I remember many small issues needing attention, but nothing that took away from the quality of our stay. When I finish my service with Peace Corps Mongolia in 2010, we will all have a reunion back at Shasta Ranch Lodge! Thank you! John Flynn

Awesome Winter Get-Away We had a great three days with three other couples enjoying this home after snowmobiling Mt. Shasta. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our friends. The home is secluded, yet not far from wonderful restaurants and shopping. Be prepared for a snowy road and driveway in the winter. I recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle for getting in and out. I definitely recommend this home for a group.

great get away " The home' I call it a home because that is what it felt like as soon as you entered the front door. Beyond what I thought a vacation rental home would be like. Everything was so wonderful, everything you needed to feel right at home. We loved it and would love to do it again.
