We all had wonderful time. It was nice to just get away with friends and not have to worry about a thing. The condo was nicely decorated and roomy. Beds were comfy. Great location- right in the park and a quick drive to the lodge.
Owner response:Thanks for review! I love to hear it's a place you can go with friends and not worry about a thing....except....having a great time! :-)

We enjoyed our stay. It was very comfotable and clean, close to our fishing destinations, and close to different dining locations if we decided to eat out. Would highly recommend.
Owner response:Thanks! And I hope you had success while fishing. :-) Terri

We took our kids to Lake Cumberland for a family reunion. Apple Valley is right at the mouth of Lake Cumberland State Park. The condos are tucked into the woods with plenty of easy parking. There is a pool and a playground as well as pavilion for cooking out. There are lots of grills outside the units. If you never left the Condos, you could have a nice simple getaway. We rented a pontoon and even a jet ski down at the Lake and were there every day. Its a 10 min drive through the Park to the State Dock where it's easy to drop off your gear and park (you have to walk a STEEP hill for parking). The Dock is pretty amazing with a restaurant and big ol gift shop. There is a corn hole game and lots of shady space to hang out. The Lake itself is amazing and a must visit. We saw a fish hatchery, borrowed free fishing poles and tackle at the Park general store, played mini golf and had a few nice meals at the Lodge. This was our first year renting from this owner, but my brother whose family stayed in the other unit owned by the same person, has stayed for two years now and recommended this one because the units are in great shape and the renter is very friendly, responsive and businesslike. The transaction was easy and the information we got before traveling down was very helpful and complete. The condo was clean and ready to go when we walked in. Nothing fancy. Just ready for family living. We cooked and found the kitchen well stocked with pans, silverware, knives etc. There was a basket of kids toys and some DVDs that the kids enjoyed in addition to our own. The bedding was clean and the furniture was comfortable. There was plenty of everything we needed in the Condo and everything was in working order. We plan to go back next year and will schedule our vacation so that we can have the same unit again. It was terrific.
Owner response:Thanks for your review. I'm sure future renters will appreciate all the great ideas for how to have a wonderful, relaxed time at Lake Cumberland Ky!

We stayed at the P3 condo recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The condo was clean and well-stocked. Terri was great and answered our questions very quickly. We were within walking distance of the pool, basketball court and tennis courts. The temperature in the condo stayed very comfortable on both floors, even when it was pretty hot outside. We had plenty of room for the 4 of us. The value for what we paid was excellent. I have already started recommending the condo to our friends. My family and I had never been to this part of Kentucky. We spent a day at Mammoth Cave, which was great. (Hint: drive to Russell Springs and get on the parkway--takes you almost right to the Cave). We also spent time playing tennis, basketball and swimming at Apple Valley. We were there the week before July 4th and it was very quiet. We had those activities almost to ourselves. It picked up by the end of the week, but even with a full parking lot, the condos were very quiet. In the park, we played mini-golf, disc golf (free) and ate at the Lure Lodge. It was a great restaurant. The buffet was a good deal and had very good food. We also drove down to the water's edge on a road very near to the condos. We're not boaters, but we had a great time anyway. The views driving up to Lure Lodge and down by the lake were incredible. If you are a boater, I'm sure you'll love it even more. We also went to the Fish Hatchery. This is a must see for all ages, but especially if you have kids. It's a 5 minute drive from the condos and it's free. There was also a mini-golf/go-kart place on the way to Russell Springs called Mini Indy that we enjoyed.
Owner response:Hey, Indiana Travelers, Thanks for your great review and description of fun things to do while visiting our Condo at Apple Valley Resort. We do appreciat your recommendations to friends. God bless and have a great year! Terri

What a great find! The two of us stayed in the P2 Condo in mid-May -- we needed a relaxing, romantic weekend away. I knew I wanted to stay in the Lake Cumberland area -- I had visited there many times as a child, since it is very close to the town my grandmother used to live in. The beautiful, winding, tree-lined drive into the Park was just as I remembered it -- the whole area is just breathtaking! The condo was clean, well-maintained, and in a great location if you plan to spend any time visiting Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. We were a little early for the tourism season, so it was almost like having the entire area to ourselves! Great recreation opportunities just a few minutes' drive away in the park (hiking trails, disc golf, etc). It rained much of the time we were there, so it was nice to have the cozy condo when we didn't feel like going out and getting wet. We cooked most of our own meals in the fully-stocked kitchen, and spent a lot of time relaxing on the balconies. The owner was great -- sent us very detailed information and arrival instructions once we booked our stay, and promptly answered any questions that we had. There are lodges and cottages available for rental within the State Park, but you'll pay more there for fewer amenities. This condo rental is a great deal in a peaceful spot, and I hope to come back again in the future!
Owner response:Thanks for taking time to write this great review! We certainly hope you make Lake Cumberland (and of course P2 or P3) a vacation destination in the near future. Lots of beautiful wildlife and nature trails to discover as I am sure you know, "EcologyGirl". :-) Thanks again, Terri

My family recently stayed at the condo over spring break. The location was perfect for us, and the condo's are easy to find, well maintained, and quite spacious for a family of 4 or 5. The setting of the condo's is gorgeous and being near the state park leaves lots of room to explore nature trails! Our family of five slept comfortably on the two large beds and the oversized futon, and the two full bathrooms made showering and getting ready in the morning much easier. When we arrived we were surprised at how the condo looked exactly as described and exactly as pictured in the listing. It was clean, well kept, and relatively up-to-date. All of the appliances and fixtures were in working condition and were clean and ready for us to use. The beds were neatly made when we arrived and there were plenty of extra blankets if we needed them. Basic towels, toilet paper, paper towels, and accessories were at the condo for our using, but we chose to bring our own. The owners were friendly, helpful, and accommodating to our needs and they made the experience even more pleasant. Overall our experience was great, and not only would I recommend it to a friend or family member, I would stay there again myself.
Owner response:Hey, Mallory, Thank you for the wonderful review! So glad all worked out for your family. I got your e-mail reguesting a couple other weeks this year, I will get back with you soon. Thanks for renting from us. Talk to you soon. Terri

Great getaway to lake Cumberland. Only 3 1/2 hours from Cincinnati. Condo was clean and has much more than a hotel could offer. Full kitchen, 2 BR and 2 bath. Can't beat the price. Great place for hiking, swimming, boating, tennis, Basketball and much more. Really enjoyed the use of the clubhouse and shelter. Grills are available at the shelter for your use if you like to grill out. Play ground there as well for the young ones. Love campfires at night. Cumberland State Park is only 5 miles away. There is a park with a fish hatchery close by. The Cumberland Dam is close as well with boating ramps nearby. Great place to go in the summer if you like boating, swimming and fishing plus lots more. Great pool and Sauna at the resort. We love to bring our cards and cornhole games to play at the pool. Recommend Giovannis pizzareia in Jamestown if you want some good pizza . I recommend bringing all your food and drink with you. But you can go to the local store and pick up anything you might forget except alcohol This is a dry county. So make sure you bring what you like to consume with you. Great place for couples and families of all ages. A great affordable vacation. Highly recommend!
Owner response:Hey, Debbie, Thank you for your wonderful reeview. Really appreciate your responding. Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time at your family's Thanksgiving Reunion. Keep us in mind for the future. We do love Apple Valley. So much to do. Again, thanks. And call us anytime! :-) Terri

Hey, Terri, Thank you for letting us rent your condos. Loved the country fresh feel. Made us feel like we were truly in a Kentucky Cabin. The convenience of having them side by side is better than we could expect. My Mom & Dad enjoyed the King size bed in P2. We stayed in P3 with the bedroom separated for my sister and brother in law. The futon downstairs was the best we've ever used. I love the new spring mattress. We will be back in 2011!
Owner response:Thank you, Bob and Julie, You are welcome back anytime. We love having you. Send your friends :-) Terri

Where else can you stay so close to the beauty at hand. Love the trails leading to different views of Lake Cumberland. Love the closeness of the road that takes you right down to the lake. Love the fact that Apple Valley is set in the park and away from businesses, fast food restaurants etc.; although Jamestown and all its amenities is only a short drive away The condo is very comfortable and always clean; like the fact that it has a bathtub and a shower and everything you need in the kitchen. Noise has never been an issue. The clubhouse is great, and the basketball court and tennis courts are major selling points for me as well. Apple Valley is great for individuals or couples and families as well. I heartily encourage anyone and everyone to spend a vacation here, and I look forward to my next stay!
Owner response:Hey, Donny, Thank you for writing a review. Lake Cumberland is such a special place. Have you ever eaten at Lure Lodge? Thanks for your rental. Hope you do return, we would appreciate it! Thanks again, Terri

Terri, My family and friends had a wonderful time at both p2 and p3 last year. We love the location and Apple valley condo area. Close to the dam which is where we prefer to launch our boat. The stay was very nice and we were all fully rested for another day of boating. Everything we needed and at a great price. Thanks again for being so easy to deal with and providing a great place at great prices. See you again in May!
Owner response:Hey, Joe, Thank you for the lovely review! I've got you on the calendar for May. Hope you have a great vacation.. I can't wait to get down to the lake again this spring. We really appreciate your coming back! Terri
