Approximately ten minutes to Monarch Ski Area and only 10-15 minutes to Salida, makes this new log home central to all activities, winter or summer.
Monarch Ski Area has terrain for everyone and is a great family area. There also are many cross country ski trails nearby. The year round access to hiking trails right from the door as well as the proximity to the Arkansas River minutes away, allows you to just get up and go.
The spacious lodge style layout has a vaulted ceiling and large full height windows. The orientation of the home was done to maximize the views. The up close panorama of Mount Shavano and the Continental Divide is astounding.
You will find this to be a quality built log home, with the creative work of experienced craftsmen displayed in the details. There is beautiful tile flooring in the main open area, tongue and groove aspen on interior walls, finished post and beam construction for the second floor and loft, and the natural look and quietness of the logs throughout.
The large downstairs bedroom has a queen and two double beds. The upstairs bedroom has a queen and a pull out mattress (for kids). The loft area has a futon couch that folds down to a double. This is an ideal set up for one or two families.
Efficient heating is provided by a radiant system, but you will really want the atmosphere provided by the woodburning stove. Plenty of firewood is available for your use. The solar gain thru the windows provide additional warmth and also a sunny brightness to the whole cabin. The home heats up quite nicely and offers plenty of quiet comfort.
