About this property

Cliff Top Home With Breathtaking Sea Views From Almost Every Room In The House.

This five-star, award winning, unique and stylish home combines elegance, taste and comfort, to provide a home from home. Facing west means the most amazingly romantic and dramatic sunsets like those featured in the Poldark TV adaptation, many scenes of which were filmed at nearby Dollar Cove, minutes from the house. With high speed internet access even in the Summer House, and great attention to detail the emphasis is on making guests feel special. This is truly a comfortable family home. The location of the house and layout of the garden makes it an ideal spot to entertain or host that special occasion.

Please note that as we consider we are no longer in the grip of a Covid pandemic we will continue with our rigorous cleaning protocol but we have restored the full larder of essential cooking ingredients, books and games.

Amazing!
We would live here if we could! Amazing location. Clean as a whistle. Best stocked kitchen we have ever seen. 100% recommended. This is a gorgeous holiday Cottage.

Not on your Bucket List? Too bad.
The owner and staff are to be complimented on the wonderful property that has been made available to those who truly appreciate the ambiance that such a location and facility can afford. There is not a place on the property inside or outside where the views are anything less than spectacular. The coastal path which is literally at your door step takes you for scenic walks to numerous destinations icluding a short walk along the cliffs and beach to a town which has everything you could want. The house (actually more like your own private resort) is furnished to the point of extravagance with not only such things as linens, like new kitchen ware, furnishings, and wonderful appliances but also every imaginable thing that you would want to enjoy time on the beach. The Summer House was one of our favorite places to relax and enjoy the evening sunset close to the barbecue grill. Those of you who enjoy reading will be pleased to know the house is well stocked with a wide variety of books. Two of the books on hand were written by a very interesting person, she actually lives next door and is quite an authority on the history of the Gunwalloe area and the county of Cornwall. Not that I deserve to go there but if the standards are lowered and I do make it to heaven then a place with some of the characteristics of Chydane would be most welcome.

One week at Chydane
Simply the most idyllic, amazing and wonderful place to stay. We know this part of Cornwall very well having visited for the last 40 years on a regular basis. This property surpassed all our expectations in every way. The sea views and location are amazing and the house is so welcoming and comfortable. It is so well-equipped and ready for you on arrival that you feel that you are arriving at your own home with that something special in addition. I could not recommend this property more as a destination and place to stay. We did not want to leave and do hope to return in the not too distant future.

Traumhaus in Traumlage

Danke!

About the host

Hosted by Patricia Harman

Host profile image
Steve and Trish Harman live in England with their three children. Their passions include golf, racing and travel. Although they have lived abroad and travelled extensively, in Gunwalloe they feel they have discovered a piece of paradise!

Why they chose this property

We saw the house many years ago while walking along the coastal path and because of its truly stunning location it took our breathes away. Like many people before and after us, we dreamt of owning a home like this. We came back every year for afternoon tea(as at the time the owner provided cream teas) and became friendly with the owners who assured us that they would only ever leave the house in a box! We are happy to report that they are alive and well and living a few miles down the coast! We still pinch ourselves as we often cannot believe that this particular dream did indeed come true!
The Lizard Peninsular is steeped in history and with beautiful gardens and walks, museums, theatres, galleries, theme parks, maritime centres and wildlife reserves, there is something for everyone.

What makes this property unique

Peace, quiet and total relaxation. We can be as active or lazy as the fancy takes us. With miles of wonderful walks, golf, beaches with swimming or surfing, award winning restaurants, museums and gardens on the doorstep or a short drive away we are spoilt for choice. On the other hand if you just want to sit and contemplate, there are few places that can compete with this truly unique setting.
