We truly enjoyed this beautiful home for our summer vacation. It easily accomodated our 11 person family and had all the items needed for an enjoyable stay. The location is absolutely ideal, with a biking path path directly behind the home, a nice deck with plenty of room for the yard games, and boat hoist and dock for on the water activities. The owners are extremely gracious and easy to work with. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a vacation spot on Spirit Lake!

Perfect Family getaway

Our family of 13 went up to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. It was the perfect house to spend some quality family time. You are able to fish and swim right off the dock. A sandy area, fire pit and swing are outside to enjoy the nice breeze off the lake. It rained one day while we were there and lots of games are provided for you to play. We really enjoyed ourselves!!

Something for everyone

Our family spent a week in this lake home for the first time in 2011. We are already planning to return again in 2012. There is something for everyone in this family oriented home. We have nine grandchildren, ranging in ages from 4 months to 10 years. The four bedrooms and den with additional sleeping space was more than adequate for our three married children and all of the grandchildren. Our oldest son loves to fish, and the fishing was excellent on the lake. We had enough fish for our traditional Friday night fish fry with extra fish to take home. The younger children loved the shallow shoreline and the large built-in sand pit with the anchored horse and turtle that inspired creative fun. The older grandchildren enjoyed swimming off the dock. The open floor plan of the living/dining/kitchen allowed for everyone to always feel a part of things, and the large back yard was perfect for the lawn games that both the children and the adults enjoy. The owners were extremely helpful in corresponding with us prior to our stay and checked in with us after we had arrived. When an unexpected minor problem arose, they took care of it immediately. We could have not asked for more accomodating hosts. Even though it was our first time staying in this particular property, we are long time vacationers in the area, and we never run out of activities for our children or for the adults. There are numerous golf courses to choose from, as well as miniature golf, too. We regularly attend the children't theatre at Treasure Village, and because of its interactive approach, our grandchildren talk of it for days afterward. Arnold's Park is a favorite outing, along with the Okoboji summer theatre which caters more to adults. Of course, a trip to the area is not complete without a visit to the Emporium, where the Sugar Shack is the highlight. Whether it is restaurants or shopping, Spirit Lake and the Okoboji area has it all. Having a lovely home to stay at while we are there is just the icing on the cake.

Great Family Vacation Spot!

This is the second year our 12 family members stayed at the Lakehouse and we can't wait to come back. The house was very clean when we arrived, well maintained and quite comfortable. The kitchen is one of the best features....clean, new spacious refrigerator, dishwasher, plenty of dishes and every kind of cooking equipment we needed. It was easy to work together and there is a large island to serve from as well as eat at. There is a large deck off the dining room with picnic table, lounge chairs, firepit and grill. We enjoyed this every day, especially at night to watch the sunset over the lake. There is a large yard which we used to play yard games, a nice sand box for the kids, a dock we used to swim from. Another big plus is the location....directly across from a hiking/biking trail, close to a sandy beach and minutes away from downtown Spirit Lake and shopping. I can't think of anything that was missing...we hope to come back year after year.

Ideal Family Vacation

This property suits the needs of our 12 member family very comfortably. The house is spacious and very well maintained. The owners have included everything we could possibly need from entertainment, to cooking, to sleeping!! The lakefront accommodates relaxation, lawn games and a beautiful view. We are able to keep the boat on the provided lift for easy access, and the dock provides time for fishing and swimming. We especially like the 'residential' atmosphere of the property; yet there is easy access to shopping, bike/walk trail and any other lake activities we would want to do. The owners are very willing to make our stay as comfortable as possible and accept any/all helpful suggestions. We plan to return to this lake house regularly.

Our family has stayed at this house one week each of the past eight years during the summer. The accommodations are excellent, view amazing, and owners fantastic. Our kids look forward to it all winter. The property is extremely clean and well kept. The owners are very friendly and easy to get a hold of if needed. We highly recommend staying here.
