Rustic, Tranquil, Large Inland Lake with Great Fishing

Our 50' of private lakefront property is shaded by large oak and maple trees overlooking the largest inland lake in New York State. Located down a dead end road, it offers adequate parking and moderate privacy. In June of 2007, the bathroom was renovated to include a new sink, shower tub and water softener / rust remover system. The wood floors were refinished to brighten up the interior. In addition, Air-conditioning was installed in the Spring of 2009. In 2011 a new deck was built overlooking the lake. In 2012 a retaining wall was built down by the water.
Fishing off our 80 foot dock early morning or evening may catch you a pailful of walleye, pike, bass, perch or carp. Plenty of space available to park your boat with marinas and public boat launches within four miles of the cottage.
The sleeping arrangements are unique. The second floor is one large dormitory style room with three double beds. Portable dividers offer privacy when needed. Ideal set up for parents with children.
The most impressive attribute of this 'Adirondack Style' cottage is the full length, screened in porch that overlooks 160 square miles of water. A perfect place to keep an eye on the children while swimming, relax with a book or just enjoy the scenery.
Venturing away from the cottage can be exciting as well. The shoreline town park, less than a quarter mile away, offers a sandy beach, an open pavilion, basketball court, baseball fields and tennis courts. The Sylvan Beach Amusement Park, just 20 minutes away and the Verona State Park, just 25 minutes away offer additional sandy beaches. TURNING STONE CASINO is 40 minutes away and offers world class gaming, showroom, restaurants, nightclub, and three of the finest golf courses in the Northeast. In addition, the Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota is just 35 minutes away and the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is under 2 hours away.

My three sisters and I rented the cottage for our 17th Sister's Weekend. We were so pleased with the clean comfortable condition of the cottage and the scenery was fabulous. The dorm style bedroom was great so we could keep talking thru the night. The church was close by and a nice walking trail. I would recommend this to anyone. Very nice.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This cottage was so quaint and clean. It was close to many conveniences yet removed enough to enjoy the quiet of nature. I absolutely loved it and plan on going again. The owners are kind and accomodating and provided me with information that helped me find restaurants, laundromats and grocery stores. The neighbors were also very kind and helpful. I almost don't want to let out the secret of this place so that it will become too popular for me to get a week for myself. Wonderful location!!!!! I Highly recommend it!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

About the owner: My wife Kathy and I (Bob) are fortunate to live in upstate New York near our son, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. Kathy and I met each other in 1973 at the State University College at Buffalo. Kathy is an elementary teacher and I am self-employed, owning a design and marketing firm. We live in the smallest city in New York State... Sherrill, New York, with a population around 3,000.

There are wonderful attributes to Camp Kelly. The cottage 'overlooks' the vast majority of the lake... it is an impressive view. Sitting on the large deck during the day or on the screened in porch in the evenings, allows you to enjoy the beauty of the water.
Because it is located down a dead-end road, it is peaceful and quiet. The sounds of birds and waves are prevalent.
