Wow! This view is like something out of a movie. The cottage is beautiful and so well-appointed. Warmth and peace surround this awesome setting. We have enjoyed every minute of our stay and will leave relaxed and renewed until we return for another dose of heaven. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness.

Stayed a couple of nights just to break the norm & hideaway.Cottage had a restful decor that encouarged you to sit on sofa with a cup of coffee, prop your feet up & enjoy the view! A scenic drive by way of Desoto parks waterfall to Ft.Payne for great resturants.Owners took great care in suppling amenities & little items like coffee, filters, seasonings & the such.Loved the train in valley with the distant cry of it's horn which from the bluff looked like a miniature I played with as a kid.Cottage very clean & maintained.Beds are wonderful! Sitting & bedrooms on opposite ends makes for great privacy.Been renting & driving to Gatlinburg for cabins for many years but no more 8 hr car prison for us! Would have given 5 1/2 star rating if hot tub would have privacy screen but we'll be back soon!

Best Place I Have Ever Stayed in Mentone! Fantastic Brow View, Gracious Furnishings, Historic Style

I have been coming to Mentone for 35 years, and I must say Stoneridge Cottage is the most delightful place yet! We so appreciate the attention to details given in anticipating needs of guests. It is so much more relaxing to come to a place with comfortable bedding, luxurious linens, plenty of towels and paper products, even laundry & dish detergent (!). The cottage is charming beyond measure in history, traditional Mentone style, and gracious appointments. We enjoyed the gas logs in the original stone part of the cottage. The stunning view from the brow is the most special part of all. Location perfect. Screen porch and hot tub great pluses. Spotless. Everything you need is here. Walk to sweet, artsy downtown Mentone in 5 minutes. There really are two separate suites on opposite ends of the house, each with its own romantic bedroom, bath, and living area. Nice big kitchen, too. Thank you so much. Victoria, Paige, Mendel & Bea

Wonderfully Romantic Christmas Getaway!

My husband and I stayed at Stoneridge Cottage Christmas 2009 for a lovely mini-vacation. Wildflower Cafe was very good; highly recommend. As some of the other reviewers mentioned, Mentone is dry, so be sure to bring your own wine, etc. The restaurants will let you bring in your "juice" and will give you "juice glasses" LOL. Desoto Falls is a must! The cottage is so unique and oozes with history and nostalgia. We would have liked for the hot tub area to be a tad more private, as the owners live next door, but the view is so awesome that it certainly wasn't a big deal. Seeing the train roll through the mountains and valley below was a gorgeous site and the sunsets...AMAZING! The owners, Jerome and Liz were very nice and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

I can not say enough about what a great experience we had staying at stoneridge cottage this weekend for my sisters bachelorette party. The cottage is gorgeous and the amenities are perfect. Jerome and Liz came by and were very kind! We are already trying to plan the next trip to Mentone to stay with the family at the cottage. It really feels like a home away from home. It is much more unique than any mountain cabin I have ever stayed in and the views are gorgeous! I can't say enough good things about this trip. It was perfect :)

My husband and I (and our Pomeranian puppy) stayed here for a long weekend in July and would definitely come back. The cottage is gorgeous inside with its stone fireplaces and wood floors, and the view from the hot tub outside is wonderful. There are two widely separated living areas, so if one of you likes to read and the other watches television, the reader will not hear the television. Both bedrooms boast very comfortable beds with cozy quilts. Best of all, if you have a problem with anything, your landlord will be right over....He lives next door and is a super-nice man! There is a little park nearby that you can visit, and the best restaurant in town is within walking distance. The Wildflower is a great place to relax and enjoy the upscale cuisine and live music. Mentone is in a dry county, but most restaurants in the area will let you bring your own booze. If you forget, Georgia is about 5 miles from downtown Mentone, and there is a liquor store right over the line. You will not be disappointed if you stay in this charming old cottage.

Everything about this cottage is perfect! If you are looking for a relaxing location with beautiful views - this is it. The cottage has so much charm. The original stone part of the cottage adds so much charm and the screened porch with the views of the valley below is a great place to relax. It's just a short drive to Desoto Falls and Desoto State Park. A little farther down the road is Little River Canyon. The cottage is in such a convenient location but you feel like you are in a secluded location. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

This cottage was the perfect p;ace to stay while exploring Desoto State Park for a few days. Loved the feel of history at this cottage and Mentone. The view was delightful! Great beds and linens, too. Hope to visit Mentone again one day. I love small, quiet communities with frendly people.
